Now, the Barry Richard Show.
All right, welcome to the program. It is
a Friday afternoon, partly sunny skies,
temperatures still up there, pretty
warm, but it's um the humidity level is
way down low. If you haven't been out
yet today, it's not too bad. All not as
bad as it's been. It's supposed to be a
gorgeous day tomorrow. So, we'll have
all the details of that coming up for
you in uh just a little bit, part of the
1:00 news break. Uh, by the way, I just
want to say marked safe from a cold play
jumbotron video cam today. Um, hope you
are as well. And boy, I'll tell you that
uh that little video snippet has gone
viral. It's been seen all over the
world. And um unfortunately, it it means
you know, some families are are in
distress today. But um you know I just
it's it's absolutely incredible how
this guy I I don't even know his name
off the top of my head. He owns this big
company and he's like a multi-billion
dollar company and his human resources
uh head or whatever. They were out at a
cold blade concert in Foxboro on
Wednesday night and they were out uh
sneaking around because they were both
married with children and the jumbotron
cam picked them up and it was broadcast
everywhere on the planet and um you know
it's kind of funny um they got outed
that way and it got caught but it's kind
of you know it's kind of the kids were
involved and so that that kind of
stinks. I was at that show on Tuesday
night. I So I wasn't there for uh
Wednesday night's big uh news breaking
at Jumbotron
camera event, but we were there Tuesday
night. And um they actually picked up a
marriage proposal on their uh camera on
Tuesday night. So that was better.
Um anyway,
following an explosion um at the LA
County Sheriff's Department facility,
three dead according to sources. Fox
says it was accidental. I guess it's I
was talking to Tom Hudson on his way out
the door here a minute ago and he was
following it as well and said um I guess
it's a place where you test munitions
and explosions and stuff or whatever.
I'm not not quite sure exactly, but it's
a it's a training facility.
And um so there was an accident there
and three three people are dead that we
know of at this point. Um
I know Tim is working on a piece right
now. I'm not sure if it's up just yet,
but Tim's working on a piece. Um
um yesterday we uh we told you we
reported to you about a 10th death in
the um
big fire in Fall River, the Gabriel
House fire. It turns out apparently they
misidentified the 10th person that died
at the Bristol County District
Attorney's Office. They put out a uh a
press release saying, "Well, so and so
died and so and so didn't die. It was
somebody else who died." So, they had to
uh um
run a correction corrected press
release. Oops. Sorry about that. We'll
have more on that. I know Tim's working
on it and he'll let me know when it's up
and I'll let you know so you can go take
a look at it. But, um city council met
last night, excuse me,
and voted seven to four to reinstate
the money that was cut from the
ziterian.
$495,000
money that they had agreed to spend.
Um
the vote last night 7 to 4. I brought a
couple of converts over. Remember the
original six to five vote,
Linda Morad, Maria Giesta,
Sean Oliver,
Brian Gomes,
Baptiste,
and Naomi Courtney. That was the
original group of six that voted to
defund the Z last night. The vote was um
everybody voted to refund the money with
the exception of Morad Giesta Oliver and
Gomes. They voted against it.
Back during cut night, Morad made some
pretty foolish statement about how uh
you won't see anybody from Cogall Street
at the Z on performance night. you know,
total lunatic remark about your
constituency, right? Um, here's a woman
who looks at the city and um,
she's thinking like a Democrat. I know
Linda Morad's not a Democrat, but she's
thinking like a Democrat. Break
everybody down into demographics into
groups and everything. So, if you live
on Cogall Street, you are not smart
enough or cultured enough uh, to go to
the Z.
I'd love to hear her try to explain
that. You know, sometimes you say things
dumb. you you say things that are, you
know, so maybe she um didn't intend to
hurt anybody's feelings or misrepresent
the situation. So, I'll give her the
benefit of the doubt there. But, uh um
you got to be careful when you do that.
You can't assume that because somebody
lives on Cogsaw Street and I don't even
care if you're a reprobate that lives on
Cogall Street which I think was probably
the uh you know I mean you may still be
cultured and may enjoy going to see the
Inbetric Symphony Orchestra
or maybe My Fear Lady is your favorite
musical like my father-in-law my
95-year-old father-in-law comes to the
Betra to see My Fear Lady. He loves My
Fair Lady. We take him down to the Z.
Um
I mean, you know, the Z's on the hook
for $37 million, 18month restoration
project. The city council voted to agree
to give the Z some money each year for
the next I think it's what over 7-year
period if I remember correctly. And then
they voted not to do that. Well, now
they did. They put it back. though. Um
Morad said last night that she supports
the Z and arts and culture, but said the
city
had given the um nonprofit the building
and it paid no rent or taxes.
How many nonprofits do we have in the
city that pay no rent or taxes? Maybe
they pay rent. Maybe they own the
building. I don't know. But um how many
empty buildings do we have that are
paying no rent and taxes?
You know, here's like Star Store. You
know, Star Store was paying no rent, no
taxes. Was just sitting there falling
apart. We have old school buildings. Um
but for some reason the fact that the Z
while it was trying to build something
and build build up you know a huge part
of the community there because they were
paying no rent or taxes for some reason
that that got under some folks skin.
I've never quite understood. And Derek
Baptist what how disgraceful is it? I
mean this is I you know it's not it's
dumb.
I mean we've seen some dumb people on
the council before but this is really
dumb. This is the heart of your ward.
You know, there are other members of the
council who would love to have the Z in
their ward, right? Because it brings
business in, brings positive attention
to your ward, but they have such a um
kind of a callous attitude about the Z
that's in the center of your ward where
restaurants are and in in the business
district and u you know, it just makes
no sense to me.
But I mean, it is what it is, right?
Some more ad question. What's the money
for? The Z's been closed for a year.
What's the money for?
[Music]
You know, um,
as you know, the council cut 10.2 two
million dollars out of the mayor's
budget forcing the uh administration to
make some cuts to try to balance things
because you gota you know whether you
like the Z you don't or whether you like
the fact that the uh you know Linda
Moride voted to fund the Z in the first
place and now she's where's the money
going well you voted for it you voted
for the agreements
and it's not just she I shouldn't just
pick on she I just you know
$10.2 million in in cuts to the mayor's
budget. Um,
which means some other things had to be
cut
or rolled back.
You got to pay the Z contract. You're
under contract with it. You agreed
On paper, you signed it. You voted. I
mean, everybody, you agreed to pay it.
And I go, "We're not going to pay that."
Well, see in court, Charlie Brown.
But there are other things that were cut
to very irresponsibly from the uh from
the budget.
So, the mayor submitted a a couple of um
appropriations requests last night. One
for um
God, it was over $300,000 anyway.
And um
I'm sorry, it was over $3 million. And
uh there was another one that was um
over $800,000
and they were to cover costs for the
school system
and these were things that were cut by
the council. Um
like transportation,
you know, school buses, you rent a
contract, you go out and you hire a
company to provide transportation for
your students and then you say, "Well,
I'm not going to pay the bill."
I mean, this is the kind of idiocy that
that goes on sometimes.
And the other aspect of um the school
funding
was what's known as minimum net school
spending requirements.
And what the minimum net school spending
requirement is
is what the state, the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts says we have to spend. All
communities have a minimum net school
spending requirement.
And you've got to spend that amount.
Minimum minimally you've got to spend
that amount.
on your on your education budget for for
that year. I mean, look, a city like New
Bedford gets 85% of its education money
from the state.
We come up with 15% of it.
So, the state says, you know, hell,
you're paying 15%. You got you got to
come up with a a minimum net school
amount, the spending amount. That's what
we want. You cut it. If you don't meet
minimum net school spending
requirements, you're still on the hook
for it. Say the state wants um I don't
know $10 million from you and you can
only put in $8 million. You're not
meeting minimum net school spending
requirements. So that that that $2
million difference doesn't go away. It's
simply kicked over to the next fiscal
year. So the next fiscal year instead of
having to commit $10 million, you've now
got to commit $12 million. And if you
can't meet that $12 million,
whatever you don't meet gets tacked on
to the following years.
So what you're doing by not meeting
minimum net school spending is you are
building in a deficit right into your
budgeting. You're starting off behind
the eight-ball.
They call that a structural deficit.
It's structured that way. It's
structured right in.
Should the city council cut money that
would have um put us at risk of um not
meeting minimum net school spending
requirements and uh also not funding our
um
our transportation contract for busing.
It's not an issue whether you like
busing or not. If you don't like busing,
that's fine. Let's vote not to have
busing anymore. You know, I mean, I I
wouldn't argue too much with that. I
think if you live within two miles, you
shouldn't get busy anyway, but that's
just my view on it. But you can't wait
till you're in the middle of a contract
and and say, "Well, I'm not going to pay
the money for the contract because you
get sued, you're going to pay more."
So
before the council last night was the um
the appropriation request for money to
meet the obligation, financial
obligation for the Z, the council voted
on that 7 to four. So that's all taken
care of. Um the ones in terms of the
education meeting minimum net school
spending requirements and transportation
contract, they didn't vote. And the
reason they didn't vote is because Linda
Morad invoked what is known as the
charter rule.
The charter rule is a rule that goes
back to the beginning of Robert's rules
of order. And uh what it says is if a um
just in a nutshell, if something is
introduced
to the council and the council has not
had a chance to um to read it or to
review it or hold hearings on it, then
you can stall all action on it until the
next meeting.
Now, normally the council meets every
two Thursdays or they meet uh they meet
twice per month, actually, two Thursdays
per month. But during the summer months,
June, July, and August, they only meet
once.
They only meet once. So this has been
charter ruled. In other words, it gets
tabled until
the next meeting,
which is August 21st,
which is about a week and a half before
the start of school. Less than that,
actually, because I think they start
late August now, right?
So with probably less than a week to go
before the start of school, we will not
know whether we are meeting minimum net
school spending requirements or whether
we are going to pay the bus contracts.
Now my sense tells me we probably will
do both of those things and the councils
will acquies in in in the long run. But
why do this? What is the point of this
charade? What are the what is the point
of the games? You know, this is what
people are sick of in this country right
now. sick of games. They're sick of, you
know, uh, foolishness, childish
behavior, um, politics. And this is why
Trump's approval rating is like through
the roof, regardless of what you've seen
on some networks. It it really is. And
I've got some new numbers for you, uh,
that I'll share with you later on. But,
um, and this is why, you know, every
demographic, every voting block in this
country has moved toward Trump and away
from Democrats because the Democrats
play the games.
and um the modern the new the new age
Democrats play the games. I'm not
talking Democrats all the way back to
the beginning of time, but um
and people are sick of the games.
They're really sick of the games. Games
cost a lot of money, uh cost jobs, cost
all kinds of problems.
So, um there was no reason for Linda
Morat to try to rule this. She knows the
issue. She knows the issue. probably
better than anybody else. I don't think
there's anybody on that city council,
and I don't think there has been for a
considerable amount of time that has the
financial wherewithal that Linda Morat
has. Linda Morad is not stupid. She's a
very smart woman. I've known Linda Morad
for decades. She's a she's a very smart
woman
and numbers, that's her business. She
was a banker.
But unfortunately, you know, I I think
Linda has become very petty
and has become very politicized and she
plays political games.
No need for this.
And make no mistake about it, Linda
Morad drives
votes on the council.
Um
so we'll see um we'll see what happens.
Couple of uh big important votes to go
from the council on uh uh education
and um
we're going to kick that over to August
21st. No reason to do it either. Just,
you know, a lot of gamesmanship and u So
last night I went down to 50s night. Joe
Jesus 50s night downtown. Did you go? I
almost didn't go. You know, I almost
didn't go. I really had to talk myself
into it. I was kind of tired last night.
It was hot and you know, you go down and
it's like you walk around a few times
and uh it gets really crowdy and
everybody say and I'm like I'm just not
in the mood to do all that walking and
just finally I said, you know what? Ah,
what the heck? I'm going to go down. I'm
going to go down and say hello to few
people and then um when I get tired I'll
leave. I wound up having a ball last
night. I saw so many people I know and
met the new police chief last night.
What a great guy. And um
you know met met just saw some people
that I hadn't seen in a while and um it
was a nice night out to socialize. Great
music
on four or five stages. I'm trying to
and um and it was fun. it was catching
up with some friends and uh and just uh
enjoying I I think I stayed till God
might have been about 8:30 I w up
staying and um so it was a lot of fun.
But on the way downtown last night I
came down 195, got off on Route 18 South
and I'm driving along and got up to the
new pedestrian overpass and I can see
people up there.
I see people on the overpass and I'm
thinking to myself, "Wow, look at all
these people walking. They must be
coming from the train to head into 50s
night, right?" And as I start to get a
little bit closer, I can see that
they're holding signs.
How about maybe two dozen people, if
that.
And
I'm thinking, gee, wait a welcome to New
Bedford or something. I don't know,
maybe. And as I get closer, I picked out
one of the signs, no kings. And I'm
like, oh my god, here we go. These
people still haven't they still haven't
stopped. I don't. Um, and as I'm getting
ready to go under the bridge, I notice
that these are all seniors again, people
my age. And it's like, what is wrong
with you people? I don't know whether
this is the the hippie- dippy leftover
crowd from the 60s that just need to
protest something. They got to be pissed
off about something. They got to
protest. I I don't know because none of
it makes sense to me.
And apparently there were protests in
other cities last night, too. And this
was part of something called, if I can
find it here in uh Frank Mulligan's
story in the paper today. Um
I don't know, there was a name to the
protest. Oh, good good trouble lives on.
That's what it is. Good trouble lives
on. But it's all part of the handsoff
stuff. And they're all holding hands.
All these gray-haired people.
It's funny. I was talking to Tom Hodson
before. I was telling I was telling him,
he wasn't telling me. I was telling him
the same story I'm telling you. And I
said, you know,
could you imagine your grandmother
having the time or or or even the
wherewithal to be standing out on a
bridge
protesting?
Um
or even you. I I I
so I I I
don't very often read um some of the
local stuff online, but um
I'm thinking, you know,
about two dozen people out of a city of
101,000
people. That's not really
representative. That to me does not say
that the city of New Bedford is like
totally pissed off. That says that we
got a bunch of board old senior citizens
who watch too much CNN and have no idea
what they're even talking about. And um
the events uh um locally were were
organized by something called
Indivisible South Coast New England.
Uh these these are all the heyi ho ho um
left-leaning groups. Uh there's
something else called mass 50501.
Um
Meras
Victoriiosas,
my Spanish isn't what it should be, I
guess. Greater southeastern
Massachusetts Labor Council. It's all
the same groups that protest everything.
Oh, the crowding at the prison. Oh,
let's go out there and heyi ho ho. And
you know, I mean, it's same people.
It's it's like, you know, they're
they're looking for the cause of the
day. They go out there and print signs
and go out and just hop up and down and
um so Frank Mulligan spoke apparently
spoke to some of these people, you know,
and Frank's got good instincts as a
reporter, but I wish he would follow up
with more questions. I really do. I
mean, he um
he spoke to some of the people. He
actually went over to the bridge and
asked people, "What are you doing here?"
but he either didn't follow up
or didn't print
the information they gave him when he
did follow up. I don't know, maybe he
doesn't want to make them look bad or or
whatnot, but let me just give you a
sampling of what Frank Mulligan came up
with. He spoke with um somebody by the
name of Christine Ljac Smith
uh one of the organizers with uh
Indivisible South Coast New England. And
she said, quote, "We're here because of
the horrific situation that's happening
in our community with immigrants being
snatched off the street, no due process,
and being left in prisons.
Their families don't know what's going
on. So, we're standing with them
preserving our democracy. I mean, the
statement is false from beginning to
end. And and by the way, um Christine,
we don't have a democracy. We don't live
in a democracy. It's a democratic
republic.
Okay? So, this not a democracy. First of
all, you need you need to learn that.
You got to teach. If you're going to hei
and ho ho, you got to understand your
government and how your government
works. Big difference. Anyway, we're
here because of the horrific situation
that's happening in our community. What
what horrific situation. I was on my way
downtown, 10,000 people, a joyous
celebration of our community,
celebrating a tradition that goes back
to the 1950s when people turned out on
Thursday night to shop downtown and
everything. I mean, it was really cool.
It's great music, great time, great
great folks to talk to, all kinds of
wonderful stuff. So, I don't get the um
horrific situation that's happening in
our community. immigrants being snatched
off the streets, no due process. How?
Nobody's been snatched off the street
without due process.
If you've been snatched off the street,
one of two things happen. Number one,
you've already had your due process and
you mocked it up and you wound up in
jail or whatever, or you're um hiding
out from charges. So, you Yeah. Okay,
fine. Um, other than that, some dumb
sheriff or some dumb uh judge um let you
out on the street when they should not
have
and ISIS had to come and find you
and you happen to be with some other
folks who maybe are clean as a whistle.
Maybe they're clean as a whistle. You
know, the problem that a lot of folks
don't understand here is that they say,
"Well, Barry, people without criminal
records. I thought Trump was only going
after criminal illegal aliens." Well, he
is. But the problem is because we have
dumb asses uh for politicians in this
state. Um what is happening is criminal
illegal aliens are being allowed back on
the streets either after serving time or
being released by judges uh not detained
by police chiefs or whatever. They're be
just being allowed to go back out on the
streets which makes it extremely
dangerous for the ICE agents. Uh, not to
mention the people that live in our
community because convicted rapists, um,
suspected murderers, drug dealers, and
all that are being released by the
politicians on the streets for some dumb
reason that we can't quite comprehend.
If they called ICE and said, "Hey, we're
holding these people in our jails. Come
get them." No problem. But so what
happens if uh Manny Bananas who's you
know from Guatemala or wherever um you
know wanted on rape charges or convicted
of child molestation or drug dealing or
whatever and he's out there on the
streets. Well, ICE has to go and get
them and uh if they go and get them and
Manny Bananas is with a bunch of other
people who um
don't have papers, those people could be
clean as a whistle. Their only offense
in the entire world might be that they
are here illegally.
They get dragged in because they have to
be checked out. The ICE people can't
stop and say, "Well, let me call and see
if you've got any uh you know, any
priors or what." That's not their job.
Their job is to get Manny Bananas. If
there's anybody with Manny Bananas when
they're arresting Manny Bananas that
doesn't that don't have the proper
documentation, they got to come in and
they get their due process at that
point.
because then you go before an
immigration judge. But none of that has
to even happen. Nobody's out there
looking for folks who are just simply
here illegally at this point. We're
looking for criminal illegal alias. But
a lot of other people get swept up into
it. Uh because we have, as I mentioned,
dumbass judges and dumbass sheriffs and
dumbass police chiefs and politicians in
the state and the media and all that. So
you're putting the community's life at
risk and you're putting the community
But you know what? Not one person who is
even here illegally that has not
committed a crime would would ever see
ICE
if it wasn't for the fact that the
liberals are letting these offenders
back out on the streets. That's the
problem. So the liberals are the ones
that are causing the problem and then
they're bitching about the problem. So,
you know, I just don't um I don't know.
There was another one. Um,
Victor Mey Dartmouth said, "I'm out here
to protest the Republican nonsense that
is going on in this country."
It's as easy as that. Especially the ICE
terror in New Bedford. You know, I
wonder, did Frank Mulligan ever say,
"Well, what exactly are you talking
about, Victor? Uh, what Republican
nonsense are you talking about that's
going on in the country?" Explain that.
Because if he did, he didn't include
that in the story. I mean, wouldn't
wouldn't that be your first response?
Excuse me, Victor. Why are you out here?
Well, because of the Republican nonsense
in this country. Well, what Republican
nonsense? Explain it to me. Tell me
exactly what Republican nonsense had you
out here. Well, we don't know that.
Because either Victor wasn't asked to
explain that. Maybe Victor, if you're
listening, you want to call me up.
Explain to me what exactly is the
Republican nonsense going on in our
country that has you out on an overpass
holding a sign, hey ho hoing, while
10,000 other people are a couple of
blocks away from me celebrating and
listening to music and having a good
time. I maybe Frank didn't include your
reasons, but I'd love to know what they
are.
Somebody named Erin Patterson
who's out with her daughter Taylor,
members of a local activist group,
Democracy Unleashed. Erin said it's
tough times out there. It's very
different country we're beginning to
live in.
What it's going to take to make it right
is us. Obviously, we can't rely on our
government to do anything. So, we're the
ones that need to stand up against
everything that's going on. We have
people being kidnapped right off our
streets here in New Bedford.
Oh my god. It's just too much. She said
our community needs to come together.
We're stronger together. But again, you
know, Frank, what Aaron Oscar, it's
tough times out there. It's very
different country.
Obviously, we can't rely on our
government to do anything. So, we're the
ones that need to stand up. What is the
problem? Articulate the problem, Erin.
You don't articulate the problem. Frank
doesn't know enough to ask you what the
problem is. He just writes it down. and
prints it up and like she can't deal
with the problems today. But he doesn't
ask her what the problems are. So we
don't know, Aaron.
Maybe he did ask you and you couldn't
answer the question. Maybe
but he should indicate that in the
story. I asked Eron what exactly she
talking about? What the hell you talking
about? She couldn't answer me. So, uh,
that would be nice because it'll give
the the reader a better understanding of
who these people are and what their what
their issues are or whether they even
understand why they're standing on a
bridge
at 5:30 at night. Hey, hey, ho, ho.
While people are celebrating by the
thousands just a couple of blocks away,
listening to music, having good food and
stuff. And I don't know, Ed Parr said,
"I'm out here basically because I just
disagree with the way Trump is running
the country." Well, specifically what
what what is Trump doing running the
country that would drive you to stand on
a bridge
as a silver-haired old guy? What are you
What are you doing up there, Ed?
There are numerous things starting with
immigration issues and this recent
budget that he passed. Well, let me let
me explain a little bit of civics to
you, Ed.
I know you're an expert on everything
and and government and everything, but
the president of the United States does
not pass a budget.
The president of this United States has
no power to pass a budget ad. I know
they didn't teach you this,
you know, but so I'm here to inform you.
The president of the United States does
not have the authority or the power to
pass a budget. The president of the
United States can propose a budget
and it's up to the Congress of the
United States to vote on and pass a
budget. So, the president
did not pass a budget.
But according to Ed, President Trump
passed a budget that is taking away
health care and food from people in the
United States.
I don't know if Ed knows anybody
personally that's losing their health
care and their food. If he does, I wish
he would direct them to me and I I'll
help them to get it back. Um, unless
they don't qualify for it, of course.
Unless maybe they're here illegally or
maybe they are defrauding the system or
maybe they're wearing Spongebob
Squarepants pajamas and sitting in the
mother's basement all day and refusing
to work, then then they don't need it,
Ed. They don't need it because they have
the ability to work and they don't want
to work. But anybody, all you senior
citizens that hey ho ho heyi ho and
whatever up on the bridge, you nobody's
taking your food away from you.
You got to have food to have the energy
to hey ho ho on a bridge, right? So none
of you looked in bad shape. I saw you
all. I drove by. I didn't see anybody
that looked like they were malnourished
um or in need of healthcare. None of
these people see everybody. Oh,
healthcare. They're taking away our
healthcare and our food. But not one of
them has lost their healthcare or their
food. And they can't tell you who has.
Nobody can. Especially not Ed Parr
because Ed Parr believes that the
president passes a budget.
Um
I'm here to protest all of that against
authoritarianism. Authoritarianism
basically. Ed, do you know what
authoritarianism is?
Ed, you're a senior. Chances are your
dad fought in a war, right? Maybe one of
the big ones, maybe Korea, whatever.
Maybe you did. I don't know. Um,
maybe I'd go home and look it up online
what authoritarianism
is
because you obviously have no clue. This
is a word that the uh the union gave you
or the hei heyi ho ho leadership gave
you or you saw it on CNN and thought it
was a pretty cool word and so you made a
sign that said no kings or whatever and
you went out there authoritarianism.
You don't know what it means.
You folks are making fools out of
yourselves. You really are.
Francis who didn't wish to give her last
name. I don't blame her said I'm here
for my country. I love this country.
This country was built on immigration.
Another dumbass remark. This country was
built on immigration. Nobody's saying
that we're not we're got to have
immigration.
Francis, you know, there's a lot of
criminal illegal aliens in this country
that would rape you rather than look at
you or murder you or rob you or sell
fentinel to your grandchildren um and
kill them.
And you know what?
They don't care about you.
Those people are not and should not be
welcome in this country. These are
people that you think you're talking
about. Immigrants are welcome in our
country. They always have been. We love
immigrants. My folks came from my not my
my parents, but my family came from all
over the world as did many of you. So,
I've got to get a break in. 5089960500.
We're coming right back. Stay in
Massachusetts. getting a ballot question
up there that the governor is trying to
stop. Uh that would give you your gun
rights back here in Massachusetts. Bill
Bashant, you want to go see this dude at
Bashant Armament Corporation. Uh they
specialize in firearms, ammunition,
safety courses, and much more. They also
know that unwanted guns are unsafe in
any environment. And that's why they
also offer a gun orphanage. This is an
amazing thing they do. A bill buys any
type of gun. Don't settle for a gift
card or even less. Have Bill come right
to your house. He'll pay you on the spot
for your guns. No permit necessary. Go
to the bashantgroup.com today for
details on Bashant Armament Corporation
and also the family of companies that
Bill owns. It'll amaze you. This guy is
so talented. Right, Bill Bashan. Bashan
Armament Corporation. My pal. He wants
to be your pal, too. Call him at
5082953939.
And it's 5082953939.
Fighting for your Second Amendment
rights every day. So we got to support
our people who are out there fighting
for us. Right. And please tell Bill that
Barry sent you. Won't you do that? I'd
appreciate that muchly. And he would as
well. Listen, we're going to take all
kinds of calls in the next hour. Don't
um don't have any time to really get
into a conversation right now. So we're
going to open the phones up wide in the
next hour and uh get your um your
thoughts on a lot of different things
that are going on. We got more on the
Epstein case today. and uh some other
stuff too. So stick around for all of
that. And by the way, the folks that um
um
I kind of outed I didn't out them the
Standard Times. Frank Mulligan did. I
just read the story and mentioned their
names because they were already in print
anyway. Uh who were down on the bridge.
There is still time to redeem yourself.
You know, just how about this? If you
sit down and you actually think about
what you're saying and you know people
that are telling you this stuff about
people being kidnapped off the streets
and uh you know President Trump passed
the budget, sit down and think about um
what exactly it is you're saying.
Rationalize it. Figure it out and demand
more information. Don't just accept this
stuff as as factual because that's what
they want you to do. They want they want
to fill your head with all kinds of dumb
stuff so that you run around and promote
the dumb stuff so you look dumb and they
don't look dumb. Um, you know, President
Trump did not pass a bill. He didn't
pass a bill. He doesn't vote on a bill.
He didn't get one single vote on that
bill. Okay? He didn't vote on it.
Congress votes for it. And
the the budget bill is actually good for
you. It doesn't take away your food. It
doesn't take away your medicine. It
doesn't take away your social security.
As a matter of fact, if you're on social
security, you're going to get a hell of
a tax break. You know that? Are you even
aware of that? Now, you're probably
listening to NPR. Oh gee, I guess you
won't be doing that much longer, will
you? Ah, shucks. Uh, we'll give you an
update on what's going on with NPR as
well. So, stick around with us and gab
with us in the next hour right here on
WBSM. We've got ABC News coming up next,
followed by WBSM News with Mike Roberts
and then the ABC 6 Weather Center
forecast for the weekend. Kind of a
mixed bag.
