What's up, YouTube? It's been a little bit since I put a video out, but I've been swamped busy with
all kinds of stuff inside the shop and outside the shop. So anyway, I've still been working in here, still been recording stuff
I just haven't had time to edit the videos. As soon as I do, I'm going to throw a bunch out there.
Let me address a couple things. First, the table saw. A lot of people have been asking me about the dust collection.
How does it work? How is it working? And what the inside of the saw looks like?
Look, the way I designed it, I have a hose in the middle, sucking the dust out, and then flat spots on the outside.
So it's not going to get everything. What it does is it builds up a dust funnel,
I guess you could say, and once the funnel is built up, it doesn't get any higher.
It just sucks everything else out from the top of that.
I've looked inside the saw. Nothing is restricting the motor. The motor stays pretty clean.
It's working really good. There's no way of getting around
having that little dust funnel unless I build up some type of ramp system inside of it, which I don't want to do.
So it's working out really good. If you look up Ronald Walter's YouTube channel,
he's got a great video on what he did for his table saw dust collection and basically the same thing.
He's got a little dust funnel at the bottom of his saw, and he said he used to clean it out,
or just build it right back up, and then it starts working great.
And he said, you know, if the table saw is happy, he's happy. Well, same setup here. It's working fine, so I'm happy.
Upcoming projects. I've got a pallet table build for the Mississippi Modern Homestead Center,
which is actually what I'm sitting on right now. It's done.
I've just got to sand it down and paint it, and by the time you see this video, hopefully tomorrow,
I'll have the completed videos of this going, and they'll be out. So that's the next project. After that,
I've got another blanket chest build.
This one is not going to have any finish on it or any stain on it.
It's just going to have a probably coat of sanding sealer and some lacquer.
So it's going to be bigger this time as opposed to the brown one I just did.
I'm not going to go into too much detail on the building of it. Probably do a little video on the chest itself.
Include the
materials list and diagram and all that good stuff.
But I just did a blanket chest video, so I'm not going to bore you with another one.
After that, I've got a bunch of benches and picnic tables to build.
So the bench design is the same design as my armchairs, except there's no arms.
And it's going to be four feet wide, so fairly similar, and those seem to do pretty good.
So I'm going to do a little video on those real quick.
And a six-foot picnic table
that is an absolute beast. A real strong picnic table, really easy to do.
I'll have all the cut lists and materials needed to do one of those, really easy.
Right after that is my router table. I just got my router in.
I'm going to go with a 2 horsepower Drillmaster router. It's the Harbor Freight router.
It was on sale for $50, and then I used 20% off coupons, so I got it for like $39.99.
2 horsepower router for $39.99. I don't know how long it's going to last, but a lot of people said that.
A lot of good reviews on it about putting it in router tables, and you know it works.
And I got one of those speed controls for it, so
that's going to be fun. That's going to be cool, and it's in the list to get done.
Right after that,
there must be something in the water as far as what some people are drinking, but Steve Ramsey just did a credenza.
Garage Woodworks just did a low-profile entertainment center, credenza, whatever you want to call it, and I'm about to do the same thing.
Somebody who lives here at the complex once more asked me about it yesterday.
This is not going to be anywhere near as good looking as the ones that they built, because those are absolutely beautiful.
This is going to be a budget project, probably some pine plywood and some pine trim.
Nothing extremely fancy, but it'll get the job done, and it'll be a quick and easy build.
So that's the next five projects that should be coming out, and
also,
I've been spending a little bit of time
asking questions with John Heights. I hope I said your last name right. John over at iBuildit.ca, and
asking him questions about building a website. So anyway, I went ahead and
bit the bullet and built a little website, so I'll put a link to it in the description below, and
check it out. Let me know what you think.
Questions, comments, it's always welcome, but anyway, I just want to give you a little bit of an update.
Table saw dust collection is working good, five projects coming up, and I have a website now. So anyway, thanks for watching and have a great day.
