And you are Pascal is Punk on Instagram.
That's right, that's right, that was a mistake.
I was a tight, it's a fascinating story, guys.
Really?
Fascinating story.
Somebody asked me to start an Instagram account
so that she could share something with me.
This was like, what, 2013, maybe?
And I meant to write Pascal is a Punk,
but I left the A out.
So it's Pascal is Punk and it just has stayed that way.
Can you change it?
I couldn't, I couldn't, then how will they find me?
Oh, that's so true.
It's a no now.
I know, everyone knows this.
He knew it.
I have a t-shirt.
Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone and Austin Butler side by side.
They play all three in Eddington,
Harry Haster's new film presented in competition
at the Cannes Film Festival.
A film where social media plays an important role.
How social media impacted your work as actors?
That's a good question.
I wonder, I think maybe in ways that I'm not even
conscious of, I think, probably.
In ways I would fear that I haven't identified.
I don't have a public Instagram.
I feel extremely lucky that I never started one.
Girl, you are.
I never started one.
I, no, listen, I lurk like a little troll in the dark.
I don't leave any comments,
but I like to follow along and watch.
But I don't, because I don't have a kind of like
public social media, there's something,
I don't know what I don't know.
But you know what, to be honest, as a viewer,
sometimes I would prefer not to watch the actors
on my phone and just to see them on screen, on big screen.
He doesn't want to see your phone.
You know too much about me and my opinions, I'm sorry.
Tell me.
You can't, what do you mean tell me?
You go look at my Instagram.
Do you think it's important to be in contact with the fans?
I'm not very good on social media, I don't think.
And you know, every now and then I have to post something
for work and I don't find a lot of joy from it, you know?
But I do like, like today, you know,
seeing the fans down there,
like actual interacting in person, I really love.
But do you think it has changed the industry?
But it's changed every industry.
It's changed every, everything.
Yeah.
In which ways do you feel it?
It's a fabric of our every day.
Whether we want it to be or not,
I think that to actively shield yourself from
it sort of being in the driver's seat of your experience
is very, very, very important.
But the reality is it's a part of all of our,
it's a part of all of our lives.
There are surge in general warning.
There was like, there was attempts of surge
in general warnings on stuff like Instagram
because of how vulnerable young minds are
to this kind of level of information or kind of reality.
So it, you know, it's just a part of everything.
And how deeply addictive it is to be a surge in general.
It's incredibly, yeah, exactly.
That's really what that's all.
Yeah, it's very, it's very, very, very addictive.
I have to, I always have to put myself in check
and I'm not impervious to the dopamine hit
or the approval that I'm seeking
when I'm getting on there,
when I'm Pascal is just punk.
Just punk.
