If you're an immigrant working survival jobs abroad: cleaning, caregiving, delivery, or anything just to get by, this video is for you.
We’re talking about the silent struggles many immigrants face: the grief of being far from loved ones, the loneliness, the pressure to succeed, and the heartbreak of doing jobs you never imagined. You're not alone. You're not invisible. And your story matters.
In this video, I share the truth that so many of us live but rarely say out loud. Whether you're in Canada, the UK, the US, Australia, or anywhere in the world — if you're hustling just to survive, watch this.
If you're a manager who came abroad and
you're currently working a survival job
abroad, can I talk to you for a second?
I get it. You were a manager, a
supervisor. You used to wear suits and
you were the one that used to give
directions. Now you're in Canada and
you're doing shift work. You're packing
boxes. You're standing on your feet for
10 hours and you're wondering, "Is this
my life? I just want you to know that I
see you. I know it hurts. I know it
feels like no one understands what you
left behind. the respect, the title, the
comfort you left behind. And now we are
here doing something that you never
imagined that you'll be doing at this
stage in your life. It's hard. It's
humbling. It's lonely sometimes. But I
want you to hear me clearly. This is not
your end. This is just your transition.
Canada is not punishing you. It's just
stretching you, teaching you, and
preparing you for the next level. You
didn't come all the way here to settle.
You came to plant new seeds. And
sometimes seeds they look like they are
buried when really they about to bloom.
That's how planting works. Ask any
farmer. Please don't lose your
confidence job title. You are still a
leader. You are still smart. You're
still the same capable person who used
to run teams, lead meetings, solve
problems and all of that. So now take
courage and lead yourself through the
storm. I know you wish things were
faster. I know you wish things were
different. But let me remind you,
everything in Canada works by process.
You remember the immigration you went
through, it was by process. Recognition
of credentials, it was by process.
Building a new life here, definitely a
process. So manage your expectations
with grace. This is not going to last
forever. You will not be on the factory
floor forever. You will not do survival
jobs forever. Your time is coming. In
fact, you are already on your way there
just by showing up every day. Every day
you clock in. Every shift that you
endure, every dollar that you save, you
are building something even if you can't
see it yet. So don't compare your
chapter one in Canada to someone else's
chapter 10. That's a mistake. Don't let
this temporary season define your worth.
Please be proud of yourself. It takes
guts to start all over again. It takes
courage to humble yourself and keep
going. So keep going. One day you will
look back and smile because you'll
realize that even in that factory job,
you were still becoming who you were
meant to be. And I promise you, your
comeback will be louder than this pain
you're going through. Hold on. Your time
is coming.
