Checking In With All of You! Updates Incoming 🙌🏻

Hey kids. So, it's been a little while since I've checked in with you. I haven't really put out any long form videos in a little while. So, I just thought I'd kind of catch you up on what's going on with my life and what what's been happening. So, um and just kind of fill you in on some of the things that I have planned. Um because I do have quite a few videos that I just haven't completely edited them yet, but I'm getting there. So, uh, but before we get started, uh, I do have a dad joke for you. This isn't original. So, so my wife said, "Honey, have you seen the dog bowl?" And I said, "What? That's amazing. I didn't even know she could." Ah. So, anyway, uh, yeah. So, I've just been doing lots of different things, lots of traveling, uh, which really kind of makes it hard to to consistently put out videos. But I do have several videos that I've worked on. I've done um how to put up a c uh how to put up a tent. So, I'm working on that. Um real close to getting that out just so you have it. Just some advice that I would give anybody that's wanting to go camping. You need to know how to put up a tent. I have I just changed my exterior back door. So, I have that video. And along with that video, I also um put uh some slate tile over the steps on the back, too. So, I got to walk you through that. And I have that video. I also have a video about uh I tried out this new uh headlight. You know, you know how you have those foggy headlights where your headlights the outer plastic part is foggy and it doesn't shine as bright. Uh, so I actually tried out this product less than $20. It worked amazing. It was It's not a sponsored video, but I thought I just got to try this out and see if it works cuz I was dealing with my my headlights being foggy and not as bright. So, I tried it out and it is amazing. So, I have that video coming out. So, I'll recommend that product even though I'm not getting compensated for it because it is a good product. And what I've always tried to do with my sponsored videos is as if you've been with me any any length of time, you know that I try to only recommend something that I recommend to my own kids so I can sleep at night feeling good about recommending something that I think is a good product. So, um I do have a few notes here, so I don't want to miss anything. So, I have had people say, "Oh, did he retire? He's not posting anymore." I have been posting. I've just been doing uh shorter videos because it's just easy because I can do a YouTube short and I can also do I can put start up on Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok. So, that's kind of buying me some time before I can get out some longer videos. So, so you might need to turn on the notifications um when I do post if you're not seeing those shorts. Uh I have been posting, just been shorter videos. Um so, I usually try to do Money Mondays, uh Wisdom Wednesdays, and feel good Fridays. I'm going to try to start doing some tool Tuesdays again, which might be a little bit longer, but I want to get back into those. So, um, we've also done some traveling. I've, uh, we, my wife and I went to Spain, and then we spent, uh, we had an overnighter in, uh, Paris, too. So, we got some video from that. If that's something you're interested in, I could also post those videos, kind of give my recommendations for visiting those particular cities. Uh and then I was invited to speak at this brilliant minds conference out in Sweden uh at the beginning of June. So before we went to Sweden, we went to London uh then spent a week there as you know if you you know saw my video, my shorter video again on the short kind of looking for recommendations. So we did some cool things there. So I would like to you know include some of that in in future videos. So, I have all that footage. I just need to again edit it. So, um anyway, so the the conference that I spoke at was really cool and I'll I'm thinking I'll probably share the same message with you in a shorter video, too. Conference was called the Brilliant Minds. And when they reached out to me, I thought, "Oh, boy. They got the wrong person here." Because I would hardly consider myself a brilliant mind, but uh they were very encouraging. the gal who who wrote me said, "But what you do is brilliant, Rob." So, that was very very encouraging. So, um, but when I was there, I spoke on the concept of time and I used the acronym T I M E, time. Um, and so I'll probably share that in a video. I also have a video that I've done that I haven't put out yet talking about tying a tie because I've done tying a tie, but I I show you why I tie it the way I tie it because there's there's two main ways. Um for the one's called a forin hand knot and one's called a half winsor. The one I do is a half windsor and it's just a balanced knot. So I made a video kind of showing the two different kinds just so you can kind of pair um compare the difference and see why I do it that way. Um I said put up a tent. I also have a video on doing laundry with my washer and dryer, which it might be different than yours, but it's just the steps that I use when I do laundry because I Yes, I do my own laundry. Um, and then I also, my brother recommended this too that I do this video and I have the footage on this too, is changing your washer hoses. Uh, you really need to change those periodically because that's a big thing that um can go wrong, especially if you're on vacation. One of bursts and then the water, you know, can ruin a floor. So, so it's a good thing to periodically change those. And if you look it up online, it says 5 years, which I I had my hoses hooked up for a good 15 years at least from when we got our new washer and dryer. So, uh anyway, I walk you through that. Like I said, um installing an interior door. I'm going to show you how to do that. put up some slate on my steps. And then I I've talked about a couple other things about money. Uh I do want to do a series on money. Just been super busy. So um thanks. And then um another cool thing that I'm going to do u because I had hinted at this before where uh I want to do a series called Dad Answers the Tough Questions, but I think it's unfair to just act like I have all the answers. I certainly don't. Uh but I've just tried to live my life um trying to understand as much as I possibly can. And I think there's three big questions. Um where did I come from? Why am I here? And where am I going? And so I'm going to share a little bit more about my faith. And I have a I'm going to getting ready to meet up with Abdu Murray. If you if you're familiar with him, he's a Christian apologist that just uh He's just very wise. And so I think it'd be good to just ask him some questions, you know, not necessarily only about faith, but about uh, you know, being a dad and raising a family and how you get your strength and where do you get your hope and, you know, there's so much more to life than just knowing how to fix things around your house. You there's existential questions that you need to be able to answer and feel good about the the answers so that you again understand why you're here and where you're going and you know, uh, and what what the reason is for for your being. So, anyway, those are kind of the main things that I wanted to get out there so you understand. I have been, uh, recording videos. I just need to take the time to go back and edit them. So, um, you'll probably see quite a few videos coming up from me um, in the near future. So, all right. So, uh, looking forward to spending more time with you as as I get these videos out and I'll periodically check in with you just to make sure you're doing okay um for that series about um life's tough questions. Uh, feel free to put them in the comments what you'd like to what you'd like answers to to the best of our ability. Again, we're not going to be able to answer every question perfectly, but at least uh how I've been able to get enough questions in my own mind to to land where I've landed in in my outlook uh on life. So anyway, uh I can't really say I hope this was helpful for you because it really was just checking in with you, but I did just feel like feel the need to to stay in touch so you understood what was going on and and uh we'll be back out with some more videos here shortly.
