Disney, Disney World, anything Disney meant the world to her. And probably as a lot of fathers
in this room can attest, we've watched Lion King, Hercules 50, 75 times, can still repeat the words
verbatim. But one of my daughter's favorite songs that she loves as a child was from the movie
about 22 years ago. It was an animated and there was a woman who was the the lead for the Disney
movie. And we have her here tonight to sing a whole new world for me and my daughter to dance
to our first song. Come on up Kate. First of all, hi everybody.
Huge congratulations to you and to Mark on your very special day. If you don't know who I am,
my name is Lea Salonga and I have done the singing voices for two Disney princesses which is why I'm
here. So I'm very honored that you've invited us to come. Thanks Jim for the invitation to come.
Your dad said that you were such a huge Disney fan. Your best friend was telling us today that
you were such a huge Disney fan and that she had to keep the secret for so long and when we were
outside, I have to hold it for two more minutes and then it's done. So I'm lucky for us that
because she's such a big Disney fan, a couple of her favorite songs happened to be the ones that
I got to do. So this first one I'd like to dedicate to the both of you as you do your
daddy-daughter dance. I think we're gonna cry up here when this happens. This is such a pleasure
for us to do A Whole New World for you.
Over, sideways, and under On a magic carpet ride
A whole new world A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear That now I'm in a whole new world with you
Unbelievable sights Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling Through an endless diamond sky
A whole new world Don't you dare close your eyes
A hundred thousand things to see Hold your breath, it gets better
I'm like a shooting star I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be Every turn a surprise
With new horizons to pursue Every moment, red letter
I'll chase them anywhere There's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you
A whole new world A whole new world
That's where we'll be That's where we'll be
A wondrous place for you and me
And to my Aladdin for this evening, I would like to thank Julian Diaz Granados. Please,
another warm round of applause for him. And allow me to introduce on the piano,
Mr. Larry Yerman, my musical director. Okay, so this next song was a request from Jim,
who says it's Caitlyn's favorite Disney tune ever. A little disclaimer, the first few lyrics
on this occasion are a little problematic. You know, it's, look at me, I will never pass
for a perfect bride or a perfect daughter. Rest assured, you're all the wonderful things.
You are both. So without further ado, here is Reflection from Mulan.
Look at me, I will never pass for a perfect bride or a perfect daughter.
Can it be I'm not meant to play this part? Now I see that if I were truly to be myself,
I would break my family's heart.
Who is that girl I see staring straight back at me? Why is my reflection someone I don't know?
Somehow I cannot hide who I am, though I've tried. When will my reflection show who I am inside?
Now I pray that a time will come I can free myself and meet their expectations.
On that day, I'll discover some way to be myself and to make my family proud.
They want a docile lamb. No one knows who I am. Must there be a secret me I'm forced to hide?
Must I pretend that I'm someone else for all time? When will my reflection show who I am inside?
When will my reflection show who I am inside?
Congratulations, Katelyn and Mark. Thanks again, Jim, for having us. Good night, everybody.
