They say the kitchen is the heart of the house.
My dream kitchen is now complete and it's simply perfect.
It's everything I wanted and hoped for.
But a kitchen truly becomes the heart of the home once it's filled with life.
Things like bread baking in the oven and dishes waiting to be washed are what turn a house
into a home.
And I know it won't be long until my family fills this space with life and a little bit
of chaos.
The new house is much bigger than our old rental and I have so much more space.
But I'm going to take my time collecting things that are both useful and beautiful.
For a while you might see empty corners and plain white walls in my videos.
But I don't want to rush to fill this house with things that have no meaning.
I want both my home decor and everyday items to reflect my style and bring me joy every
time I look at them or use them.
This is literally my dream coming true.
This kitchen is just everything.
My husband and I worked so hard for it.
And it feels incredible for this to finally happen, to finally arrive in this place in
life when we own our own home and I get to design it exactly as I want to.
I was very lucky in the charity shop recently and I found these treasures.
All four items cost me altogether £7.
I love mixing new and vintage or second hand items.
I have plenty of family heirlooms, some over 100 years old, from both my side and my husband's.
I also enjoy thrifting, especially for English made kitchenware.
And of course, running my own shop means I get to browse home decor catalogues ahead
of the season and choose pieces I truly love.
This move feels like a new chapter, not just for our family, but also for the shop.
I'm excited to focus a little more on the home decor side to complement our in-house
candle collection.
Having a separate room for the washing machine and food storage feels like such a luxury
in my world.
Andrzej and I somehow started referring to this space as the pantry, since most of the
food is being kept here.
So although it's not exactly a pantry, let's all agree that's what we're going to call
it from now on.
Every time I mention the new kitchen, so many of my lovely readers and viewers say they
can't wait to see me baking in the new space.
So of course I can't disappoint you.
Let's make bread together.
I bake two loaves of bread twice a week, as the whole family loves it.
So making it the first bake in the new kitchen feels like the perfect choice.
It's the last video of July, and next week we're stepping into August.
Traditionally, the 1st of August marks the beginning of the harvest season, and baking
bread is one of the oldest ways to celebrate this special time of year.
We talk more about this in the latest post from our Autumn Countdown series, where I
also share my three favorite bread recipes, all easy and beginner-friendly.
I know baking bread can feel a little intimidating at first, but with a bit of practice, you
will never want to go back to shop bought again.
I'll leave the link to the blog post in the video description.
I would love to see you in the comments.
The floor needs brushing, and the sink is full of dishes.
Normal life has begun in this house, and the beautiful white kitchen is no longer perfectly
clean.
But the smell of freshly baked bread fills the air, and soon everyone will start gathering
around the table for lunch.
I think this is what they mean when they say the kitchen is the heart of the home.
Thank you for watching, and I hope to see you over on the blog.
