This is a momentous moment for me. Dovey Bike Park, finally. I've never been here before.
These two guys have been telling me about it for years. It's one of the gnarliest parks in the UK,
so we're going to see what we can do. It's the Random Tandem versus Dovey Bike Park.
Hugs don't work. They don't work. I say that now, they don't work.
This is terrifying. It is terrifying.
Let's go for our first run. We've had a little bit of a roll around the car park,
been through some puddles. Bingus, how are you feeling?
Slightly nervous, Mr Ashton, not going to lie.
No.
No, not lying.
What should I look out for?
Using your brakes. That's what you've got to look out for.
It's actually quite steep here. It's not very mellow. It's not chilled out. Forrester Dean.
I'm not used to steep.
And it's slippery. It's slippery when wet. And it's wet. It's wet.
There are puddles, but we're going to give it a go. I think we're going either down
Super Swooper or Lovey Dovey. I'm not sure if Neil's decided yet,
but I've heard there's a great view from the top. Let's go and see what it's like
and ride Dovey Bike Park. Excited.
I'm nervous, man. We are at probably the hardest bike park to ride.
It's gnarly. There's some sections which is pretty cool, but some tracks are a bit airy.
When you come on a tandem, it's not like Whistler, Martin. It's not bone dry.
It's going to be really, really cool. I'm very, very excited.
Neil, what track are we going to ride first? You're the expert of Dovey.
I reckon we stick it on Lovey Dovey. We love Lovey Dovey.
I reckon it'll work out. I reckon we could ride into 360.
Yes, I think that's a diamond, single diamond. Single diamond?
Is it? What does that mean?
Right, just go fast, mate.
Calm down. The brakes don't work.
They don't work.
I say that now, they don't work. Slow down, Martyn. Slow down, Martyn.
They're bedding in.
Oh, this one's cool, isn't it?
Just chill, mate.
Oh, my sack.
This is terrifying.
It is terrifying.
Just go slow, then.
I am. I am going slow.
Are you?
Yes.
You've got to go slow now.
I'm going slow. I honestly can't go any slower.
It won't stop.
It won't stop?
All right, slow down, then. Stop, Ben and you.
Martyn.
Are you joking?
It's trying to stop for a minute.
It's stuck.
The brakes don't work.
The brakes don't work?
Oh, my God.
It might have been you.
I haven't got my goggles on.
How big does this go?
Oh, poor bingers. Poor bingers.
Go slow, then, now, because this bit drops.
Oh, my God.
Oh, sherbet.
Jesus Christ, all the brakes.
All right, go slow. Go slow.
Hey, we did a jump.
What's happening? What are we doing?
What are we doing?
What are we doing? This is so stupid.
Wait, wait.
That's lovely.
Oh, my God, I can't see a thing.
All right, go slow through now, Mark, because this is tight.
That was not the best line.
Don't cut corners.
I'm not.
Oh, Jesus Christ.
Stay on it, stay on it, stay on it.
That's it, don't bottle it.
That's it.
I'm not bottling it.
Don't bottle it.
Stay low.
Oh, my God.
There's a tree really close to me.
Just stay near the tree.
Keep it up.
Go slow through here.
Oh, my back.
Oh, my feet are still up.
This is like trials.
Calm down now.
This is where it gets real tight through here, I do.
This is a bit slow, isn't it?
No, I'm not going fast through here.
Oh, my God.
Stop here now.
That was sort of...
Hang on.
Is that okay?
That was uncomfortable.
There was no feet off there.
Well done.
No dabs.
That's a clean.
That was a clean.
Oh, dear me.
Poor Blake.
The top, it was funny.
Very funny.
I did...
Worth coming for.
That little bit through the trees.
I have to go so slow, it's kind of...
When you're going that slow on a tandem,
it's better going uphill,
because then the rider behind is doing something.
When you're going down that slow, it's kind of boring.
What happened with your foot?
I think we lost a foot, but we found another one.
Nothing a bit of duct tape won't fix.
Thankfully, the boys spotted it.
We're putting it back on.
We're good to go,
and hopefully a bit more of an exciting bit of track than that bit.
Sorry, I've just...
We're off now.
Back onto Super Swooper.
Really great trail.
Where are you going?
I wasn't watching, sorry.
We're nearly off the edge of the hill.
Hit him, my boy.
Just use your brakes.
They're on me.
They're pulling the brakes.
Oh, this is a bit more fun.
Oh, front end's a nightmare.
Tire's too soft.
Slow down, Martyn.
Slow down, Edwin.
Oh, yeah, we could clear that one, wouldn't we?
Slow down, yeah.
If we'd have gone without Neil in front of us,
we'd be dead now.
Oh, 100% dead.
Let's feel a few of them.
This is too slow.
They're still slow.
Too slow, let's go past him.
I might just stick behind you.
Shall I...
Shall I overtake Neil?
What are you doing?
I'm gonna hit it.
Hit it, we've got it.
Flattered statement, man.
Well, Blake, how was that?
It was scary, Martyn.
I've never sworn so much, right, in one line.
I bet you've never been so scared going so slow.
It didn't feel slow, that's the thing.
Oh, man.
Okay, so we had a couple of issues on that first run.
Blake was right, it was steep.
It's not much grip on the old slatey rock
and the brakes weren't working.
You said the brakes not working.
I thought you were joking.
Yeah, I think it's because we haven't ridden it that much recently.
New pads.
Yeah, maybe need some new pads,
but we're working through that problem.
We've put some water on them.
That seemed to help a little bit,
but then it stopped again.
So we're gonna bear that in mind in our next run.
Blake, watch the line, man.
I'm sorry.
And then we're doing the same trail now, Blake, or what?
I think so, yeah.
I reckon we should loop the top section.
Lovey-dovey loop.
Yes.
Pedal back up.
Yes.
Work on the brakes.
Okay, let's improve.
Progression session.
Never ends, progression.
Right, we are going to...
Super Swooper.
We are going to Super Swooper now.
Oh, gosh.
Apparently, we've got some slab wall rides
we should be a little bit scared of.
Come on, then.
Oh, that's horrible.
Oh, my gosh, Martin.
All right, chill, yeah?
That was f***ing...
That was f***ing crazy.
What's all this?
Oh, my God.
Oh, my s***.
Oh, it's a real Swooper, that, dude.
This is f***ing...
That, dude.
Oh, the puddle's out.
Whoa.
Come on, then.
Go on, then.
All right, let's overtake this guy.
What are you doing?
I'm not doing anything.
That's the problem.
I nearly let go of you.
Don't do that.
Oh, no.
Oh, my God.
Oliver's safe.
Oh, my God.
How are you that strong?
I've got my dead leg.
I'm having a...
I don't know what we're going to do next.
Ready?
The front's just going to slide down.
Just slide it down.
Hang on, you're going to break the bar.
You're going to break the bar.
No, shut up.
Three, two, one, up.
Right, should we...
Actually...
Bring the back up.
Bring the front down.
That's it.
All right, now hold the brakes.
Hold the brakes.
Now lift the front.
I don't think it's too far.
Hang on.
Brakes.
Does this count as you riding it out?
Yep.
Yeah.
We haven't got off the bike, have we?
Safe.
I'll tell you what, first run down is always nerve-wracking.
We haven't been on that bike for a very long time.
We have not.
No.
We have not.
You did all right until you fell off it.
Well, I mean, the first run was terrifying.
Then we settled in.
Then we got overconfident.
We did.
We did get confident.
Well, I'm glad that you've swapped.
Well, the reason is, Neil, that in picking me up,
we may have bent a tiny piece of the handlebars.
A little bit wobbly now.
It's a bit wobbly.
It's unsafe to ride.
Let's just say that.
But then, are you better or worse on the bowhead, Martin?
I'm equally bad, at least.
I wouldn't say bad.
I would say more of a hooligan, less, you know, a bit more loose.
So let's have a go.
I was thinking we could ride into the 360 drive,
which is a bit fruity at the top.
Then I reckon you'll enjoy it for the day.
All right.
And that's no excuse for doing a 360 in either way of direction.
Yeah, it's going to be a different experience,
but we can be a lot more of a group ride now.
We can.
So let's do that.
I got a crick in my neck, lads.
Hang on, I'll massage it for you.
The way you're flying down those bumps, there's no surprise, really.
It's bumpy, eh?
There's a few rocks and logs in there I wasn't quite expecting or ready for.
Do you reckon tandem down that one?
Slab track, I'd say, next.
No chance.
No chance slab track on a tandem.
You can do it on your own.
It is an incredible bike park, though, isn't it?
It's incredible, I love it.
I've really enjoyed it, but it's been scary at times.
It's definitely a slightly harder run than I'm used to.
Scary for you or Blake?
I reckon a bit of both, 50-50, maybe 75.
Yes.
Something like that.
God, what's the other one?
25.
But I think we ended on a really positive note on the tandem.
Yes.
Two cool crashes.
Yeah, perfect crashes and then perfect bolts falling out
and bumping into trees on the bowhead.
It's been ideal.
I reckon we should head on down, guys,
because I've heard GFN's going to cook us a burger.
Really?
I wouldn't trust him either.
Anyway, if you want to see more of the oranged beast
or Mr. Ashton on his bowhead, let us know in the comments down below.
Give me a thumbs up and I get to ride a bit more.
All right, who's following who down this next bit because it's horrible?
You guys should follow me.
I know what I'm doing.
All right.
Watch this.
Are you racetrack?
Yeah.
Oh, my back.
