No, we don't have any more beef.
We don't?
No, we're out of beef.
The beef's just wiped out.
We've run out, we've run out, so we're doing turkey.
You've run out already?
Today you're taking on the most American dish there is to offer.
Hamburgers.
Yes!
This challenge is all about reinventing an American favourite
and turning it into something special.
I'm really excited because I've got a really good recipe for a beef burger.
Your judges for this challenge are the people standing around you.
Each team will have two hours to cook their burgers
for the people on Venice Beach.
Now, the way you're going to win points
is we're going to be asking your customers
to press the red or the blue button.
Every time they press one of those buttons,
it pops a point up on the board.
The team who has the most points after two hours wins the challenge.
And every member of the team will win a massive six points.
Each team will be working out of tents
and those tents have been stacked with loads of different foods
that you'll need to create your perfect burger.
Think turkey mince, beef mince,
all the different vegetables and fruits that you need
so you can create the perfect burger.
So why don't you get down to your tents and get started.
Come on, guys. Blue team. Go, red team.
Alright, guys, so what are you thinking?
Well, I'm thinking like a club sandwich with beef and turkey.
Maybe we could do some caramelised onion.
Yeah, absolutely. They love their caramelised onion.
Club sandwich, because they did come up with the club sandwich.
We could do lots of layers.
Coleslaw. Coleslaw. Coleslaw's great.
We come up with an American classic, a club sandwich,
but instead of the chicken, we're going to go beef mince and turkey mince.
This is going to come together beautifully.
Maybe someone starts cooking burgers straight away,
make the mince the first thing,
start cooking the burgers and then go for it.
Yeah, I think that's good.
Here's for the blue team. Red team!
Well done, guys. Well done.
What's going to be the menu? What is it called?
Venice beef burger. Venice double beef burger. Done.
Write that down so we know what the name of the dish is.
Each burger has two beef patties.
Who's going to make the beef burger? Us three.
Do you want to do the patties? Yeah, we'll do the patties.
Tell us what's going in there, Kieran.
Well, a bit of oregano, salt, pepper, egg, bread, spring onion, finely chopped.
The beef, yeah. And a bit of onion.
You ready to rock and roll? Yes, chef!
Hands in the middle. Red, red, red, red, red!
OK, Georgie, tell us about the burger. What's your team making?
Look, it's a simple burger.
They're not trying to, you know, recreate or invent something that's new.
Give the customers what they want.
Good beef patty, cheese, caramelised onions,
but what the guys have done is added barbecue sauce,
a little bit of salt, a little bit of sugar and some vinegar
to bring out that umaminess that we're looking for in a burger.
Yum! What more can you say?
I want to know what the name of this beautiful burger is.
It's called a club burger.
As a club American sandwich, they've turned it into a burger.
So you're thinking bacon?
Coleslaw, bacon, beef patty, turkey patty,
cheese, sauce, gherkins if they want it, off it goes.
Love it.
Bread goes down, cheese goes down,
then patty goes down, then cheese goes down,
then onions, lots of pickles, lots of lettuce.
Yes. Right, Moradi?
We were the first team to get a burger there.
Here's our big burger and that one's coming up.
Thank you very much.
Hope you enjoy. Vote for Red!
It's good.
First burger, right?
Put our burger on first.
What next?
Go along.
We've got a little bit of coleslaw,
a bit of bacon, turkey patty, cheese.
You need to put a gherkin on there.
Can we get two burgers right now?
We start putting the burgers out.
The first few go really quickly.
Joe, can I go now, please?
You've got to vote for the Blue Team though.
Here you go, vote for the Blue Team!
Come on, Blue Team!
And two points!
Two points, baby!
Two points!
Come on, guys, we're two points down.
We've got to pick it up.
Mate, I love it.
Burger on demand.
Thank you very much, darling.
You know, it's really nice.
It's quite heavy on the Dijon mustard.
So if you didn't like Dijon mustard,
you might find it a little bit challenging.
I love Dijon mustard.
Tastes really good to me.
Lovely.
And that barbecue sauce with the mustard
is absolutely moorish.
Come on then, Lee, bring in your burger for the Blue Team.
You know, I love it.
I think they're really clever putting that coleslaw in.
What I love, I love all the flavours.
I love the bacon, I love the tomato, the pickles, the coleslaw.
But a little bit undercooked, that's a bit of a problem, right?
Excuse me, guys, we've got a raw burger here.
A little bit undercooked.
At one point, there was a raw beef patty,
so we had to make sure that the meat was actually cooked.
OK, so we'll get you a new one.
I'll go with the red side, I think.
You need to vote for red, OK?
Press the red button.
This is the Red Team.
Hi, guys, can you please vote for the Red Team?
All right.
Thank you.
Flame grilled.
Delicious.
Yeah!
Most of the time, we would be up, like, quite a few,
and then the Blue Team would catch up,
so it was really, really close.
Keep cooking burgers, boys!
Here you go, press the red button, thank you.
Absolutely.
Thank you so much.
I hope it's as good as the American one.
I'm sold.
I'm going with the red.
Our burgers were pretty cool.
Do I have to eat a blue one too?
No, no, don't even bother trying them.
I just hope we can keep it up.
15 minutes to go, and the scores are really close.
Come on, Red!
Come on, kids, let's go.
No, we don't have any more beef.
We don't?
No, we're out of beef.
The beef's just wiped out.
We've run out, we've run out, so we're doing turkey.
You've run out already?
Luckily, we still had our turkey mince left.
So what are you putting in your turkey?
I'm putting some Dijon mustard.
Dijon mustard, yeah.
Cranberry sauce.
Nice.
Some oregano.
So oregano, cranberry, Dijon mustard, eggs, breadcrumbs, breadcrumbs.
Turkey dries out.
Now you've shown breadcrumbs.
We've got 10 minutes to go, and I'm just thinking,
it's going to be tough.
Where are the turkey burgers that are cooked?
They're nearly ready.
Hurry, quick, they're almost ready.
It's right over there.
OK, so where's your boat going?
My boat's going to go to the blue team.
Blue team, blue team, blue team!
Go to the blue team, go to the blue team!
Don't know about the presentation.
Having the food just thrown all over the place,
not really what I'd expect in my gourmet American-style club sandwich,
but it tastes fantastic, yeah.
Buzzer, buzzer, please!
On the blue team, please help us out.
Come on, guys.
We were doing so well, but then we finished our turkey mince,
and it was really upsetting.
Hurry, worry, one minute to go!
Is anyone vegetarian?
We couldn't serve anything.
We tried vegetarian burgers, but no-one really wanted those.
Can you please go press the red button?
Is anyone else vegetarian?
More bread, more bread.
Oh, my gosh, and the blue team are catching up.
Oh, turkey burger!
The American Beef Burger Challenge is just about over.
Ten seconds to go.
Pressure!
We need one more!
Seven, six, five, four, three, two, one.
That's it!
The blue team's won.
I'm feeling pretty disappointed, but we still did a great job.
Well done, well done.
Oh, my God, we've won.
We're the comeback team, I swear.
We were the underdogs.
We were getting beat, we were getting slaughtered,
and we kept going, we kept powering through it.
I know we're exhausted, but you know what?
You guys are winners!
