From Commerce to Cybersecurity - Arvind's Bold Career Switch with the help of Skill Horizon

Can you briefly introduce yourself and tell us where you were in your career and studies before joining Skill Horizon? Hello my name is Avindal. I am basically from Gangapur city Rajasthan. I have recently completed my graduation in commerce field in 2019 from university of Rajasthan and I have done UGC NET. I have cleared my UGC NET exam in commerce and I have initially pursued my career in teaching field recently I chose my career in cyber security so why should you choose the field of cyber security an I choose this field because I was not getting exposure in my teaching career and I was very upset. So I thought that since childhood I should choose the field in which I am interested as my career. One day I was scrolling on YouTube and I saw a video in which a person was explaining how you can make a career in hacking without any technical knowledge. It was none other than Sumit Sir who told me how you can make a career even if you do not have any technical knowledge. I saw that video. I met Sir personally and I came to know that Sir would teach us everything from the ground level without any technical knowledge. In this way I also came to know that a hacker is not only used to break the system but is also used to protect it. And then my interest in it started increasing further. And from here my career in cyber security started or you can say ethical career. How did Skill Orzon support you in your cyber security journey? Skill Orazon not only gave me technical knowledge but also taught me communication skills. In which he told me how I should present myself in front of the person in front of me i.e. the interviewer. How to speak in the interview and how to keep yourself confident. With the help of Shipra Ma'am, Sumit Sir and Sanjay Sir, today I am capable of facing any interview. For this, I am very grateful to Horizon because with the help of their structured knowledge, I got the right direction and Sumit Sir, who was always with me, always supported me. What specific skills and experience did you gain this skill? Basically if I say I am from a non tech background. So I started from the basics. If I tell you normally, I did not have any knowledge of any specific skills or technical skills. So when I met Sumit Sir, Sumit Sir said that first of all we will start with your networking which is the basic of the entire cyber security or the entire technical field. Starting from networking, Sir gave me the knowledge of operating system in which I got Kali Linux through which I came to know how we can enter the world of hacking. After that I got entry into the cyber security field. Cyber Security Edge in the Sense Some specific tools that we can use in ISICS Edge as well as Edge in the Web Application. After that Sir gave me some knowledge of ethical hacking and finally Sir prepared me for Bug Bounty and CTF platform where I started penetration testing. Today I feel that all these things that Sir has taught me, I would not have got them if I had gone anywhere else because Sir had given me the knowledge of these things from the very ground or zero level and today if you go for an interview then this is what will probably differentiate me from other candidates that whatever I will be able to present to the other person by combining my theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge, I would probably not have learned this anywhere else. What advice would you give to someone who is considering skill horizon for their career growth? If I say in one word then I can call Skill Horizon as a career saver or life saver. If someone wants to start their career in technical field specifically for those who are non text then Skill Horizon is a good starting point as you will get the opportunity to learn from ground level under the guidance of Sumit Sir and all other teachers. In a simple language through which you can transform from a common person to a special person. You will get to learn a lot. Plus you won’t feel isolated. As people nowadays do it themselves without any technical knowledge. So I would suggest that if you want to become a game changer in your life and you need a clear direction, then you should definitely start with skills.
