Today we're going to be making five beauty beverages for glowing skin from within.
Glowing skin starts within and one of the easiest habits you can adopt
is to add one of these tasty beauty beverages to your daily routine.
Each one hydrates and nourishes from within and also offers anti-inflammatory benefits
to reduce redness and bumps fast. Personally, I drink at least one of these a day and
often quite a few more. So let's get into the recipes and you can decide which ones you want
to add to your daily diet. First, we'll make a super simple lemon ginger mint tea,
which can be served hot or cold. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Meanwhile, thinly slice about
one inch of ginger. If you're using organic ginger, you can leave the peel on and set that aside.
Next, remove about 10 to 15 mint leaves from the stem. Mint and spearmint in particular are known
to reduce acne and excess sebum production when drank regularly as a tea. So then once our water
is boiled, we'll just add the sliced ginger and mint right to it and this only has to steep for
about three minutes. To serve, pour through a strainer and add a squeeze of lemon, which provides
a nice flavor and vitamin C boost. This lemon ginger mint tea is warming and anti-inflammatory
and supports healthy skin digestion and immunity. Next up, we're going to make my glow glow juice,
which is my personal favorite daily beverage. All you need is two lemons, an orange, and a piece
of ginger. First, slice both lemons into quarters, pop the flesh out, and add it to the blender.
Then, use a knife to scrape away most of the white pith from the peel of one or both lemons.
Don't skip this step, as the white pith may add a mild bitterness and mellows the color of this
beverage, which is supposed to be a bright neon yellow. You don't have to remove all of the white
part, just as much as you can. Next, add the flesh of one orange. This mildly sweetens the glow glow
juice and adds additional vitamin C and phytonutrients. Now, add a one-inch piece of peeled
ginger. The easiest way to peel it is with the side of a spoon. Ginger adds anti-inflammatory
benefits and a little zing. If you want more of a zing, add up to two inches. Finally, add about
one and a half liters of water, or up until your max fill line, and blend quickly until all the
solids are liquefied. There will be foam at the top, so use a spoon to hold it back while you
pour the glow glow juice through a strainer. And you can see that beautiful bright yellow color.
If the straining gets slow, I like to just use a spoon to help press the liquid out of the solids.
I like to make a big pitcher of this and keep it in the fridge so it's ready to drink each morning.
It's best served cold, so feel free to put it over ice when you first make it.
Next up, we're going to make a nettle and rose hips tea. Now, you can just boil a bag of nettle
tea and rose hips tea and call it a day, but if you really want the medicinal benefits of nettle,
you're going to want to make a decoction, which I'll show you how to do in this video.
A decoction is simply a type of tea in which you boil the herbs in your hot water, and you're
going to do it for a longer period of time to really extract the maximum amount of nutrition
from those herbs. Now, nettle is highly anti-inflammatory. It's considered a nutritive
herb because it's rich in nutrients and minerals, and it's been shown to improve various chronic
skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis. It also helps with hair growth and nail growth as
well. So let me show you how to do it. First, we're going to take some loose leaf nettle tea,
and I prefer loose leaf because it tends to be a bit fresher. You can see from the color,
it's quite vibrant, and it's going to typically be a little bit more medicinal when it's fresher.
Add three tablespoons of dried nettle leaf to your strainer. Then, add a liter of water to
your teapot and put the strainer inside. Bring this to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and
let it simmer for an hour or until the water reduces by about half. I'll link this teapot
with strainer in the description below, but if you don't have one, you can simply do this in
a saucepan and strain the herbs at the end. Once your nettle tea is done steeping, you can add some
rose hips tea. Let that steep another three to five minutes or so. You can enjoy this nettle tea
hot or cold. This makes a small pitcher which makes up to three cups and will last up to a
week in the fridge, so you can easily enjoy a medicinal nettle tea daily. Next, we'll make an
iced matcha latte. This is my absolute favorite way to consume matcha or green tea in general.
Matcha and green tea are so good for acne-prone skin. They're rich in antioxidants, antimicrobial,
and provide anti-inflammatory benefits. Research shows that when drank regularly,
green tea helps to reduce excess oil production as well as excess androgens and stress hormones
like cortisol, which can all cause breakouts. So here is how you make it. For each serving you want
to make, add half a teaspoon of matcha powder to a mug or small bowl along with one tablespoon of water.
Then, whisk vigorously in a Z or zigzag pattern until the matcha is dissolved and a little foamy.
Set that aside while you pour your favorite plant milk over a glass of ice.
I like either almond or coconut milk. Fill it a little over three quarters of the way,
then add the matcha. Swirl it in with a straw and enjoy this refreshing beauty-boosting beverage.
My favorite. Last but not least, we have my Blemish Blast Blueberry Smoothie. This is
antioxidant-rich and full of anti-inflammatory omega-3 rich seeds like flax, hemp, and chia.
So here's how to make it. You'll need three tablespoons of hemp seeds,
one tablespoon of flax seed, one tablespoon of chia seeds, and one tablespoon of almond butter.
This adds a nice creamy richness to the smoothie. Then we'll add one cup of blueberries,
frozen blueberries, and that will make our smoothie nice and icy. One frozen banana,
a quarter of a teaspoon of vanilla, and half a cup of water. You can use a plant milk,
but you don't really need it because the almond butter and the seeds combine to
make a plant milk right in your blender. Then you'll blend this all up until it's smooth and
creamy. I like my smoothies nice and thick, but if you prefer a thinner consistency, simply add
more water or ice. To make it a little more festive, add dried coconut and fresh blueberries
on top. And voila, your Blueberry Blemish Blast Smoothie. Cheers! So there you have five delicious
beauty beverages. Drink one or a few of these each and every single day to get that lit from within
glow. And as with all healthy habits, the more consistent you are, the more visible results
you'll see. All right guys, see you next time! No! Oh, we need a blueberry for him.
