One of Beijing’s wolf-warrior spokesmen in the West recently described the CCP’s strategy to “peacefully” take over Taiwan. His words should serve as a grave warning to both Taiwan and the West about the CCP’s deep infiltration of Taiwan—reaching into the presidential office, the president’s security detail, and the legislature. The recent failure of the Great Recall movement is a wake-up call, revealing the CCP’s ongoing political warfare against Taiwan. This is no longer a distant threat—it’s already unfolding.
0:19 How Taiwan’s legislature has fallen 4:37 Victor Gao reveals the CCP’s political warfare playbook 8:34 How deeply has Beijing infiltrated Taiwan?
Okay, so the 2024 election was the first
time in Taiwan's history that a single
political party held the presidency for
a third consecutive term. Taiing went of
the DPP or Democratic Progressive Party
passed the baton to his vice president
Lindu or William Lee. Although voters
chosen another DPP president, they
didn't give the DPP a majority in the
legislature legislature or the
parliament. Out of the 113 seats in
Taiwan's parliament, the opposition KMT
Guingang or the nationalists which is
known as the blue camp, the blue party
holds a majority with 52 seats and the
ruling DPP or the green camp trails by
one seat with 51. And Taiwan has a third
party, the people's party uh which is
also called the white camp holds eight
seats. And shortly after the
presidential election in early 2024, I
shouldn't say presidential, general
election in 2024, it was revealed that
Xiinping issued a directive to the CCP's
Taiwan Affairs Office and the United
Front Work Department. He instructed
them to use their infiltration networks
in Taiwan to seize power in the
legislative UN, Taiwan's Parliament, and
undermine Taiwan from within its own
system. And so not long after that, 17
KMT legislators traveled to the mainland
to be received by Wan Huning, chairman
of the CPPCC
and the chief of China's Taiwan Affairs
Office. Then the third party TPP formed
a strategic alliance with the KMT
creating a large prokm coalition and
this coalition elected a very probeijing
figure Huyu as parliamentary president
or speaker. Therefore, so through CCP
proxies in the legislature wielding
legislative power, efforts were made to
undermine the authority of the executive
branch. So using their majority, the KMT
legislators and their allies obstructed
key legislation, particularly Taiwan's
defense budget. They passed
controversial amendments that expanded
the legislaturator's power. These laws
weakened the executive branch and align
with CCP's interests. Um so the action
of the KMT alliance alarmed many people
in Taiwan. They raised concerns about
the health of Taiwan's democracy and its
ability to deter CCP's military threats.
And this is what the situation is very
similar to what happened in South Korea.
But the difference is that in Taiwan,
people initiated this great recall
movement. And the math works um like
this. If the DPP could flip six KMT
seats through this re recall effort and
the resulting reelections,
then they would secure a 57 seat
majority and ending the current minority
government predicament. Uh and then they
would regain full control of the
legislature and the executive branch.
And out of the 6.7 million eligible
voters, um about 4 million people
participated in today's vote. and that's
quite high. However, all 24 KM
legislators survived the recall effort
and the mayor of Shinzu and I think and
cao who was also targeted confirmed that
she regained or retained his her
position. So none of the recall mo
motions got a majority got a majority
vote and so the KMT is certainly
ecstatic about the results and one of
its party leaders even demanded an
apology from President Lie even though
the recall movement wasn't initiated by
him or the DPP. So the outcome of the
recall movement will have longasting
consequences for Taiwan but the impact
of this failed recall is deeply felt.
It's a major setback for those fighting
on the front lines against CCP's
influence in Taiwan. The island now
faces greater risks. The CCP and its
local allies will likely become bolder
including and selling out Taiwan's
interests. Um, this brings us to the
next topic, which is the most important
part of tonight's discussion. What will
the CCP do next to take over Taiwan?
Remember this guy Victor Gal is called
the wolf warrior intellectual
and he made headlines or he made uh
notoriety for his coma com combative
performance debating uh UK's journal
journalist Maddie Hassam. Now Victor Gao
was Deniaing's interpreter. He has a
master's degree in international
relations from Yao University. He's a VP
at a CCP affiliated think tank in China.
He's also a professor in China. And on
July 4th, he gave a speech at a Chinese
university in which he described China's
best strategy to take over chi to take
over Taiwan.
I'm sure he would never give it away
like that in London or in the US, but
someone filmed his speech and uploaded
the clip to the internet and I
translated and asked Chris to add
simultaneous translation.
When it comes to resolving the Taiwan
issue, peaceful unification isn't
realistic and military unification is
too costly. I propose a middle path.
Something like a second seon incident
which could be part of a broader
military unification strategy. What do I
mean? You know how during the civil war
when our communist troops were besieged
by Chiang Kaishek's nationalist forces
and were on the verge of being wiped
out? Jang Shuyang and Yang Huchen
suddenly detained Chiang Kaishek and
forced him to form an alliance with us
to fight the Japanese.
Is there someone in Taiwan today who
could suddenly seize control of Liing T,
President of Taiwan? He wouldn't even
need to force Lie to agree to
unification. Once Lie is under control,
he'd become irrelevant. Then a series of
decrees could be issued. The most
critical one would say, "Due to the
situation in Taiwan, which may get out
of control, we call upon security
personnel from the mainland to
immediately enter the island to ensure
stability." Wow. Our massive troops, in
my wildest dreams, wearing security
guard uniforms, would enter the island.
This wouldn't be a military campaign,
but a stability mission. We'd be invited
by the Taiwanese government. Then that
individual, whoever it is, could issue
another order banning Taiwan's military
and police from firing on mainland
security forces, declaring that they'll
be held responsible for any casualties.
Just like that, bam. Our massive forces
would occupy the island. Military
unification is a powerful
behind-the-scenes move. But it's masked
by a Taiwanese Jang Shu Yang. Let me
give an example. Dentists are important.
Saiing or Ling must visit their
dentists, right? Whether it's a filling
or another procedure, they'll need
anesthesia, right? Oops. double the
dosage and they pass out. Then that
person can issue the decrees, 10 of them
instantly. I could even help draft them
in advance.
Okay, that's the end of the clip. What
do you think? It's chilling. He
mentioned Shian incident, which you know
is an important event during World War
II that changed Chinese history. Jang
Kashuk was detained by one of his most
trusted generals who were collaborating
with the CCP.
uh Jung was eventually released but
forced to collaborate with the Communist
Party and this collaboration further
empowered the CCP but weakened the
nationalists resulting in Jang's
eventual defeat in the mainland. Now
Beijing wants to repeat that now in
Taiwan and Victor Gal's words should
serve as a wakeup call for Taiwan and
the world. Uh the dental incident he
described at the end wasn't a joke or an
or or just um analogy. You'd be shocked
by how deeply the Chinese Communist
Party has infiltrated Taiwan. In
February, Taiwan's security agencies
quietly arrested a man whose name is Wu
Shang Yu, who is a PLE spy embedded
within President Liy's inner circle
along with two DPP staffers who helped
him leak sensitive information to
Beijing. Woo is a longtime DPP insider
uh or he was a longtime DPP insider. He
was employed as an advisor in the pre in
the presidential office, but he had
already been recruited by Chinese
intelligence and was reporting on the
president's every move. The spy named Wu
had been with Linda since the since his
time as vice president, serving in a
confidential role, and once Lie became
president, Wu was formerly appointed as
a presidential advisor. It's likely this
high level access made him a prime
target for recruitment. Um, Chinese
intelligence used Woo's friend as a
conduit to convert him. Um, and then
successfully planting an agent inside
the president's office. And Wu isn't
alone. The CCP has long targeted not
only the the KMT, but also the DPP. Both
parties are are targets. The methods the
CCP use are bribery, infiltration, and
political manipa manipulation.
And another aid uh his name is Shenuing
was recently exposed for leaking
confidential legislative documents to
the CCP over several years in exchange
for large sums of money. And Shan had
served multiple DPP lawmakers, including
former legislative UN president Yosukun.
And one aid who had worked for former
foreign minister Joseph Woo for six
years has also recently been um
identified as a CCP spy. In March, a
separate case made headlines. three
soldiers formerly tasked with guarding
the presidential office along with one
soldier from the Taiwanese um uh cyber
cyber warfare division um Taiwanese
military cyber warfare division were
sentenced to prison for filming and
selling classified information or or I
shouldn't say classified uh confidential
military information to China. These
individuals were from the elite 211th
military/p police battalion um and the
information communication and electronic
force command. So between 2022 and 2024
the four soldiers received between 8,000
and 20,000 US. They weren't charged with
espionage because the documents that
they they filmed or they leaked were not
formally declared as classified
information. So they were convicted of
corruption for accepting bribes. So this
is the situation in Taiwan. Um even in
high level espionage cases, Taiwan's
sentencing is often too lenient. The
lack of deterrence is one reason CCP
spies are so rampant. In March,
prosecutors review another investigation
into two Air Force personnel, one
retired, one still active. uh that
suspected of leaking details of one of
Taiwan's most advanced missile systems
to the Chinese.
So the above cases are only the tip of
the iceberg, but they are the reason why
I don't think we should underestimate
Victor Gal's words. They are real threat
and when it happens, the United States
cannot do anything. Their hands are
tied.
