Hi, I hope you're all doing really well. Today I am coming at you with a gardening video.
So this is my garden as it looks at the moment. A little bit of a building site. Here's a little
bit of fake grass that I put down underneath the sofa bit here. That was gifted to me kindly by one
of my neighbours. And over here is where I have removed some of the paving slabs. We had so many
paving slabs in this garden, I just needed to get rid of some. So I've created a bit of space there
to put some grass. And then the rest of the stones I just shifted over to this pile here.
And this is the hammock stand that we made last year. I'm going to find a place for that once the
garden's sorted. And then over here is my raised beds that I built last year to grow some veggies
but unfortunately we didn't do very well with the vegetables because the slugs just
annihilated them. So we're going to use them for a flower bed this year and bring some colour
and life into this garden. So this is where I shifted the rest of the stones over and I'm just
creating a divide here with these bricks that I found down at the builder's yard at work.
I did ask permission to take them, they were spare ones so that was fine.
Over here is, that's the fake grass which I think looks really good. I'm also going to be getting
rid of that sofa anyway because it's broken. This was filled with stones so I've just been
shifting these over to the other side, getting rid of all those stones and I'm going to put grass
there as well. So hopefully bring some colour, bring some life into this very very grey garden.
So yeah, let's get cracking.
It's hard to see you in your room, who's gonna save you? Who's gonna make you? Not blue, blue too.
Sort of Whitney and Jaded, but let's not talk about you. Your golden song, I'm tired singing all night long.
Who's gonna save you? Who's gonna make you? Not blue, blue.
Blue moon, been one or two since I ran into you. Do you need a picture?
Like it's old, it's hard to take one on your iPhone's fold.
Who's gonna save you? Who's gonna make you? Not blue, blue.
Side by side we sway there in all the colours.
Sunlight, moon chair in all the colours.
Sunlight, remember I won't stop giving back.
Honeysuckle fresh cut grass, I could really use some stuff like that.
And tell me all that you've seen in all the colours.
Sunlight, memories washed in every shade of green in all the colours.
Sunlight, the lazy river day canoe, bathing in the turquoise blue.
Losing track of time with you, another beach pie sunset view.
Sleeping in the afternoon, no place to be and nothing to prove.
That's sure something I could use, a cure for the air conditioning.
Good to use someone to.
So just before I got planting I actually put all of the turf down.
So I hired a turf cutter and then unfortunately I only had it for the morning.
So I wasn't able to film any of it which is a bit disappointing.
I thought using a turf cutter would be really easy and the machine would do the work.
But it was actually really really difficult to use.
But I managed it. I actually ended up going quite deep and cutting quite a thick layer of turf.
Just because I had to lay it down on just pure concrete.
So I thought it would give it a better chance of survival if I at least had a nice thick base for it.
But it's made such a difference to the garden.
It just looks so green and lovely now as opposed to all those stones that were there originally.
So yeah I'm super chuffed with how it looks.
Even though it was quite a difficult job I did manage to save probably about £250.
Instead of buying the turf obviously cutting it myself.
So that was really good. So I would recommend doing it but just be prepared.
It's quite hard physical work but it's worth it and I'm really pleased with the outcome.
