Welcome to... Jet Video Diary Hello everyone. Good morning if you're watching in the morning. Good afternoon if you're watching in the afternoon. Good evening if you're watching in the evening. And if you're watching at night, go to bed. There are lots of reasons why my mum and dad are great. They're both cheerful and patient. And my dad makes amazing dinners. And this year, they've said that Jim and I can choose where we go on holiday. I mean, we can't go anywhere. Continents like Antarctica or Australia aren't allowed. They're just too far away, aren't they? But they said anywhere in Europe, Asia, North America or South America is okay. The one rule they gave us is that Jim and I have to agree where we go. But that can't be too hard, can it? Jenny's Video Diary Where are we going on holiday? So, our holiday, Jenny. Where do you want to go? I think I've found the perfect place. It's a bit unusual, but I think everyone in our family will like it. Excellent. Where is it? Why don't we go to Peru in South America? Look at this. Wow. I think that looks amazing. So do I. It's beautiful, isn't it? We'd fly into the middle of the rainforest. There's an amazing mountain landscape, wonderful scenery. We can go walking and there'd be lots of great animals. Walking? Yeah. We'd walk to Machu Picchu, which is an old city high up in the mountains. You know, Machu Picchu means old peak or old mountain in Quechua. Quechua's one of the languages people speak there. It looks like an amazing hike. It takes four days. Four days? What? We can't do that. If I walk for more than an hour, I want to lie down. It'd be great. Then we'd go through the rainforest, so there's loads to see. Amazing trees, colourful birds, snakes. Snakes? No thanks. You know I hate snakes. There are spiders there too, aren't there? I don't know. Probably. Well, sorry Jenny. Peru looks beautiful, but I think we should go somewhere more relaxing. Yeah? Let's look at a few other places. I'm sure you'll like them. Well, okay. But I still think we should go to Peru. I'm going to look up places with no snakes. There aren't many places without snakes. In Europe, Ireland, Greenland and Iceland don't have them. And there aren't any snakes in Antarctica. Snakes are fine, Jim. They're more scared of you than you are of them. Yeah, but look at this. I think it looks pretty brilliant. Yeah? Look, there's amazing scenery. And look, we could visit this campsite and walk down to the seaside. Where's this place? It's a country in Europe. Ireland. It does look good. Yeah, and I'd love to be able to swim every day on our holiday. Well, we might be able to go swimming. Why? Aren't there any beaches? Yeah, there's lots of them. But the weather's not so good in Ireland. No? It can rain there a lot. I read that in the wettest places in Ireland, it rains about 250 days every year. That's about five days a week. What? That's awful. And I don't think the seas are very warm either. But look, because there's so much rain, it's so green. And there are no snakes. I like snakes. And I'd like to go somewhere with less rain than Ireland. And if we go to the seaside, I want to be able to swim. Okay, I don't want to sound bossy, but I think we need to look for somewhere else. So do I. Let's look for a country where we don't have to walk too far. And let's find a place where we can swim. And where there aren't any snakes. And it doesn't rain too much. And with amazing scenery. And with cool animals. And I'd like to see some old buildings too. Yeah, and eat interesting food. Let's look at mum's holiday magazines.
