Hey, I'm Brooke Alex and I'm currently on tour opening for Nightly and then I'm going to be
going on my Headline tour in May. So this is my tour van and I'm going to give you a tour.
So right now I'm currently on tour with just me and my boyfriend and he is playing a bunch
of different instruments for me so we switch on and off with the driving. Luckily we can both drive
and we're both able to switch on and off because we get tired you know there's only two people so
usually when I do my Headline tour there's five of us so we can all switch it off and on and it's
it's a little easier on the mind and the body. But we've got this plug right here, we've got
CarPlay. I cannot live without CarPlay on the road because I need to see what's going on on
this big screen in front of me when I'm driving. This is a little plush gift that I just got for
my birthday. I just celebrated my 30th birthday and my boyfriend got this for me because at the
end of this tour I'm going on my Headline tour as I mentioned and he's not coming for that one
because I'm gonna bring my girl band. So he got me this so I can squeeze it and think of him while
I'm with them. To be honest we're both workaholics so usually we're not really listening to anything
we're just whoever's in the passenger seat is working and then maybe the other person is kind
of like asking questions about things that are on the to-do list or whatnot. I did today put on
Tangled though. I was in the mood to listen to some musical theater-esque songs so I put that on.
All right. It's a little muddy because where we are it's very muddy here in Chicago right now
unfortunately that's just what happens. But right here in this little section we've got our basket
of snacks. You need food on the road so you don't get grouchy so just grab something from there. A
lot of this stuff is from The Green Rooms. It's on my rider and then we just take it with us after
the show and put it right in this basket so we can snack while we're going. So usually what's on
my rider is bananas, red grapes. I don't really like green grapes that much. I have Arfids. I'm a
super picky eater. People know this about me but so those two things. I put deodorant, native deodorant
which is kind of expensive so it's kind of nice that they give that to me. Sharpies, black sharpies
so I can sign stuff at the end of the night in case I lose mine. AA batteries which we need for
our packs or my mic. Just basically like things that I'm thinking like I might need at the venue
and like what if I forget it or I lose it now it's in my green room. And then some snacks that
I like here are from Trader Joe's. They usually are not going to go to Trader Joe's for me to get
stuff for the rider. They're just going to go to a regular grocery store so we've got some items
from Trader Joe's here. These are really good. Oh I usually ask for Arizona iced tea. I don't
really love water so usually they stock up Arizona iced tea for me. I'm actually trying to cut back
on sugar a little bit so I found this company called Spoon that makes sugar-free iced teas and
lemonades but they only have them at Whole Foods so they're not going to get that for me on my
rider. You know what I mean like they're only going to go to the local grocery store. Whatever
so this is what they can get me. And we've got Dots pretzels. My boyfriend loves peanut butter cups
so anytime he can get his hands on those. Pink Lady apples. These are his favorite apples.
He loves peanut butter and then I like cookie butter. I don't like peanut butter I like cookie
butter. So we've got all those things here and then I've got we're staying with a friend of
mine from college who just found out she's pregnant on the road. You know you got to save
money so we're staying with friends and airbnbs whatnot. So I brought her a pregnancy gift because
we're gonna see her tonight actually after the Chicago show. This is a pregnancy pillow. Don't
tell her. Surprise. So this is like the sleep bench when people are tired. If you are sitting
in the front you're supposed to stay awake and talk to the driver so they don't fall asleep
but if you are on this bench you have all permission to fall asleep and doze off.
And that's why we try and leave it pretty empty so that you can lounge and lay down. Unloaded
into the venue so you're seeing it way more empty than it usually is. It's like stacked all the way
to the top and stuff. Right now so as I mentioned I'm currently on tour with Nightly and then I'm
going on my headline tour in this same van. So I've got my opener's merch here. These boxes downward
are Rosemary Joaquin's merch. She's my opener and we stopped in Nashville to like grab her stuff.
So that's why this is not in the venue because she's not with me yet. This is also my drummer's
gear. So on this tour I don't have a drummer but I will on my headline tour. So I picked up my
drummer's drum kit as well when we were in Nashville so that they don't have to fly to the
west coast with all of this. That would be crazy. So yeah just convenient logistics there. This is
my megaphone box. So every night I have one megaphone that I use on stage that I sign and
then one person can purchase at the end of the night. And it's become like an awesome tradition.
At this point like people will message me before the show and be like can I get the megaphone
tonight. It's first come for serve so it's I can't like guarantee it but it's whoever
comes to the merch table at the end of the night first gets it. And that's been super special.
So at the end of the night it's all hands on deck. Usually there's people at the venue who
are hired specifically to help us bring the merch boxes out here because you know I'm
little. So I can't carry that much stuff and they have like these carts that they put all of the
boxes on for us which is awesome. And then they'll help us wheel it around. My boyfriend actually
hurt his ankle literally two days ago so I've told him he's not allowed to carry anything
the next few days. And luckily my best friend Kayla came with us from Nashville for a two show
so it's just me and her packing the van by ourselves and then whoever works at the venue.
So we're just gonna lift everything in and there's a specific pack so that it all fits. So like
I have merch bins. I have six of them. They're gonna go right here. And then the drum kit always
is gonna live right here. And then I have a pink box that has like my example t-shirts.
That's gonna go right here. And then we have the keyboard that my boyfriend uses on stage.
That's gonna go here. So it all has to go in specific spots in order for us to like
make sure that everything fits because it's all really bulky and heavy. So it's very much like
Tetris. Thanks so much for checking out this tour of my tour van. You can find all my music
at Brooke Alex with two X's on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, all that stuff, Spotify.
And yeah I am about to go on my headline tour and then perhaps another one in the fall which
we have not yet announced but I think by the time you see this video we will have.
