Secretary Noem secures historic security agreements in three countries, ICE launches a bold new recruitment campaign, and Secretary Noem delivers a clear message to illegal aliens: The time to leave is NOW.
This is Lauren Biss, Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security.
It's been a fantastic week at DHS, so let's get into it. This week, Secretary Nome traveled to
Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador for bilateral meetings with world leaders. In Argentina,
Secretary Nome met with President Javier Mele and signed a statement of intent with ministers
to begin the process of rejoining the visa waiver program. DHS and Argentina will also
share criminal history data, speeding up the removal of Argentine nationals in the U.S.
illegally. In Chile, she met with foreign ministers and the Attorney General and signed a letter of
intent to kickstart a biometric identification transnational migration alert program to better
track criminals, terrorists, and dangerous individuals. In Ecuador, she met with President
Daniel Noboa and signed an arrangement to better equip the Customs and Border Protection's National
Targeting Center to identify and stop bad actors. Also this week, DHS launched a new ICE campaign
to recruit brave Americans to join ICE federal law enforcement to remove the worst of the worst
from America's streets. ICE is offering a robust package including up to $50,000 signing bonus,
student loan repayment, enhanced retirement benefits, and more. For more information, visit
join.ice.gov. Finally, Secretary Nome launched nationwide ads encouraging illegal aliens to go
home the right way and receive up to a thousand dollars and a free flight home using the CBP Home
App. The ads are targeted toward all illegal aliens residing within the United States and to
ensure they are given the resources needed to take advantage of this incredibly generous opportunity
granted to them by our government. Stay tuned for next week's update.
