How to Make a Lemon Drop Cocktail

Today we're making a classic lemon drop. Three ingredients coming together to make total magic happen. It's so delicious and I know you. You work really hard and deserve a treat and it doesn't have to be cake. It could be this. Let's go. First off, I'm gonna trim some of this lemon peel for garnish, but this is much easier to do before you juice the lemon. So, always get that done first. Okay, that's more than enough. Now, let's get this lemon juiced. We'll strain all those seeds out later. Okay, should be enough. I'm gonna use about two tablespoons of this. So, let's strain it out. Before I get to the drink, let's get that glass prepared. Add some sanding sugar into a small plate. Take that glass and your spent lemon and just run it along the edge. Here. There we go. Nice, sparkly, and a little bit of sweetness for this drink. Add your ice to your cocktail shaker. Two ounces of vodka. That's a quarter of a cup, you're measuring it out. Here we go. We're gonna use one ounce of simple syrup. If you haven't made simple syrup before, 50% water, 50% sugar, put it in a pot, bring it to a boil or just until it melts. Simple syrup. In you go. And I'm also gonna add in an equal amount, so that's two tablespoons, of lemon juice. Fresh. Never use the pre-packaged lemon juice. Just don't drink. Read a book instead. Not worth it. Okay, give it a good shake. Nice and cold. Time to strain into your glass. What a lovely sound. Look at that, a perfect amount for that coupe glass. All right, what about this? You can just toss it in if you want, or to make it a little bit prettier. And let's get a nice wave going. It's a little bit too long, there we go. Didn't like that garnish. I think it looks better just like with a lemon peel randomly in there, what do you think? Our lemon drop. Cheers. Do you love vodka? This is the drink for you. Okay, I cannot help myself. I will be adding just a spritz of soda water in there, just to dilute it a bit. Okay, now. Oh my gosh, fresh lemon juice is a must for this. You have to use it. It's the only thing you're tasting.
