You know why most YouTubers are broke as
despite having a ton of views and
subscribers? Well, it's because the
advice that you hear on how to grow a
YouTube channel online is usually really
bad. And I wasted a year and a half
following all of that expert before I
said it and I built a system that makes
me six figures a month. And the strategy
to hit your first 100K month is
something that you can steal right now
from me. Just as a well-known example,
Boogie2988 has 4 million subscribers and
he makes a pathetic $4 to $5,000 a
month, which is less than the average
income for Americans. Meanwhile, my
client Josh makes $185,000 a month with
less than $200,000 subscribers. Another
client, Nicole, has around 60,000
subscribers and she makes over 80,000 a
month. And they're not special. They're
just using the same playbook that I'm
giving you today. In this video, I'm
going to be showing you the entire
system from picking niches where a
thousand views can make you 5,000 plus
dollars to creating the types of videos
that the right types of people will
binge watch. So, if you want to hit 100K
per month, stop trying to be a dancing
clown on YouTube. Stop chasing worthless
subscribers and start using this
strategy that rich channels don't want
you to know about. So, here's the first
thing you need to understand, and this
is critical. A,000 targeted views can
make you way more money than a million
random views. And I am not making this
up and I would know because I get
millions of views on my main channel
monthly. Just as an example, Boogie2988.
And I'm not dunking on him by any means
here. You know, I feel bad for the guy,
but he has over 4 million subscribers
and he went on this podcast route
basically saying that he makes $4 to
$5,000 a month. And I literally know
channels that have less than a,000
subscribers that are making
significantly more than him. And here's
why. There are four different types of
YouTube content and they make completely
different amounts of money. First of
all, there's entertainment content. And
generally speaking, they're going to
make about$1 to$10 per 1,000 views. So,
this is your typical vlog, prank,
reaction video, you know, Mr. Beast
style video, that kind of bull. And it's
fun, but it pays like absolute garbage
unless you get millions and millions of
views. And even if you are getting
millions of views, it still sometimes
will pay like garbage. Then you've got
mass market education content. And this
typically pays between $5 to $40 per
1,000 views. So definitely more money,
but you're still probably going to have
to be getting millions of views to make
a substantial amount of income. So it's
better, but still nothing to write home
about. Then you've got niche education
content. And just to be specific here,
typically with niche education content,
you probably are still targeting a
little bit of a mass market audience. So
there may be some videos where you get
20, 50, 100,000 views. And it's not
exactly designed to sell high ticket
products and services because most of
your audience is not going to be able to
afford them. However, you still can sell
high ticket products and services. And
if you do so, you can make anywhere from
$300 to $1,000 per 1,000 views. So, this
is where we're talking about making some
serious money. And then finally, you
have high ticket niche content. And this
is where you can make some serious money
even with a tiny audience. So, with high
ticket niche content, you can make over
$5,000 per 1,000 views. And I even have
clients that are making over $30,000
per 10,000 views. Absolutely insane.
Now, just to be clear, this is long form
views. We're not talking about shorts.
But yeah, this is where the real money
is. And there's a lot of other
advantages to doing this. You don't have
to have a large channel. You don't have
to make mass market content that's
heavily edited and appeals to a large
amount of people. You can make simple
content that only appeals to your very
specific target demographic. And so even
though you're only getting a hundred or
500 or a thousand views per video, you
can still be absolutely crushing it.
Just to give a few examples, I have one
client that gets about a 100 to 200
views per video and they made $2 million
last year. I've got another client that
gets about 500 to a,000 views per video
and they made over $10 million last
year. So when you first start on
YouTube, I highly recommend that you
either start off with high ticket niche
or niche education because you will be
able to make money right away if you do
this. And then down the line once you
get a subscriber base and your channel
starts growing, you can make the
decision to go mass market and make a
mass market education channel. So when
you see someone with millions of
subscribers, but they're making
entertainment content, they're probably
making way less than you think.
Meanwhile, there are people with tiny
channels, sometimes literally less than
a,000 subscribers that are absolutely
crushing it because they're targeting
highv value niches. Now, by the way, all
those channel examples that showed how
much money they're making per 1,000
views, I like to call that the true RPM.
That's the true revenue per 1,000 views.
And I put together a list of a bunch of
channels that have publicly revealed how
much money they make. So, you can get an
idea of how much different types of
channels make and how difficult their
editing is and how many views they have
to get to make money. And you can have
it all for free. Click the link in the
description to check it out right now.
And this alone could help you figure out
approximately what other niches are
generally making in terms of revenue.
Now, here's how you find a profitable
niche that can actually make you money.
It's simple. What you're good at, what
you enjoy, plus market demand with high
monetization potential, aka what people
are willing to pay money for. And
ideally, this is like a vin diagram
where all three of these circles are on
top of each other. And you want to
choose something that lies in the
middle. Now, the best niches are almost
always in these three categories:
health, wealth, and relationships. Why?
Because almost everybody in the entire
world at any given time has problems in
one of these three areas or multiple.
And people have consistently been
spending tons of money for the last few
hundred years to solve these problems.
Look at Josh. He built 180K YouTube
channel teaching it security with only
156,000 subscribers. And he's not trying
to be Mr. Beast. He's being the king of
a very specific high value pond. But
here's the real secret that most people
miss. You need to position yourself
differently than everyone else in your
niche. When everyone else is zigging,
you need to zag. It's kind of like the
Golden State Warriors. When every
basketball team was obsessed with
getting big men in the center, for
instance, the 2008 Lakers had two
7-footers, they went small ball and
absolutely dominated. Or Genghask Khan
using light mobile forces against
heavily armored opponents. Again, he did
the opposite of everyone else and
absolutely dominated. Now, there's a
really good book on positioning yourself
or differentiating yourself called
Purple Cow by Seth Goden. I highly
recommend reading that book. But a more
advanced version of that book is Blue
Ocean Strategy. And in Blue Ocean
Strategy, you basically look at your
competitors. You look at the market and
you see their strengths and their
weaknesses and then you make a list of
all of them. And then you see where the
missing opportunities are in the market.
And so you can make a list like this of
all of your competitors on YouTube. And
you can either make this list yourself
or you can even have AI help you do it
with a prompt like this that I'll put up
on the screen right now and it'll give
you insights on how you can
differentiate yourself from your
competitors. Now, by the way, I call
these the personality dials and these
are ways of kind of changing the
personality of your channel. So, here's
an example from one of our clients. For
instance, I'm going to go ahead and put
this into AI right now. All right. So,
you can see like this is not perfect by
any means, don't get me wrong, but it's
pretty good, right? Uh this is actually
pretty decent. It gives some good
suggestions here. You know, one thing
that I see very commonly when it comes
to like when everyone's zigging, you zag
type of thing is I think in some niches,
you know, they tend to be extremely
familyfriendly content. So, it's very
mass market family-friendly content. And
if you want to be just a little bit of a
contrarian, right? If you want to be a
little bit of the type of person who's
anti-establishment or gives opinions
that are a little outside of the norm,
that can be a really easy way to stand
apart. In other niches, they're already
extremely anti-establishment, right? So,
they're already giving very contrarian
opinions. Just as an example, one of my
clients is in the dating niche, and it's
basically dating for men. And in that
niche, a lot of people are giving like
very contrarian advice. So, it's very
anti-establishment advice already. And
his advice is actually a little more
familyfriendly. And he's having a lot of
success with that. Right? So, that's
just an example. When other people are
zigging, you can zag. and making that
content that's either, you know,
familyfriendly or controversial is one
of the personality dials. What's
happening, guys? Quick break. So, this
Tuesday, 900 p.m. Eastern Standard Time,
I'm going to be having a training and I
want you to join me at my apartment here
and we will be doing a live training.
Now, if you're watching this in the
future, check the link in the
description, the pin comment below to
see if we're still doing the training.
You know, it's a limited time, but we
may still be doing it. So, definitely
check that link. Uh if not, we'll have
some free training for you. So, click
the link anyways. Uh, but yeah, you will
be able to interact directly with me.
I'm going to be answering questions on
how you can grow a YouTube channel just
like I did. I'm going to be telling my
backstory about exactly how I did it,
giving details that I don't give
anywhere else and basically telling my
story and telling you guys exactly how
you can do it as well. So, if that's
something that's interested to you, I
know a lot of people message me all the
time about growing on YouTube, growing
their personal brand, basically starting
an online business, which I think
YouTube actually pairs with literally
any other online business you want to
start, and I show you exactly how that
works. So, again, click the link in the
description below, attend the online
training. It's just 1 hour. It'll be the
most valuable hour that you spend this
entire year. So, don't miss out on it.
Click that link, and I'll see you there.
All right, so here's where it gets good.
You really only need four types of
videos to create a system that generates
leads and sales 247 on autopilot. And
these four types of videos are basically
just the foundational types of videos
that I've seen over and over again do
extremely well when it comes to
educational channels. The first one is
how-to videos that solve specific
problems. These basically show your
expertise. The second one is listicles
that are easy to consume. People love
lists. They're super easy to click on,
super easy to consume, even if they're
just washing the dishes or doing
something random. And they work. They
give people a little bit of value here
and there. The third are case studies
that combine proof with teaching. And
these could either be case studies of
yourself, your clients or your students,
your friends, or people that are really
wellknown in the industry. The important
thing to note here is that whenever you
do case studies, make sure that you
position yourself as the expert and not
necessarily the other person. And fourth
is testimonials than interviews that
provide social proof. So, these would be
obviously testimonials from your clients
or people that you've worked with or
interviews with other successful people
in your niche or interviews with
industry leaders. So, these four types
of videos work together like a team. And
here's what's actually happening on my
channel right now. Take a look at this.
I have a video that basically goes over
an interview from one of my clients
where we talk about how we help them to
get a job. And this person is a
16-year-old. So, it's very impressive
that we helped a 16-year-old get a
digital marketing job. And we did this
very strategically because these types
of videos, testimonial videos, tend to
not get that many views when you just
put them on YouTube. However, a lot of
people go to my homepage and because of
that, they end up watching this video.
And so, it got over a 100,000 views just
from people randomly going to my
homepage. And it generated a massive
amount of sales. Now, you'll also notice
that I made a case study video based off
of this original interview video. Now,
this case study video was quite easy to
make. I basically just took the five
main things that, you know, James did
differently that allowed him to get a
job at 16 years old. And then I just
interspiced that commentary into the
actual interview video itself. And these
two videos actually link to each other.
And then, additionally, I've mentioned
James interview video in a bunch of
other videos that I've put on my
channel. For instance, listicles. Now,
listicles on my main channel do
extremely well. They're what's known as
my top offunnel content. They get a lot
of views, but they don't convert nearly
as well. And so, what do I do? I send
people from my listical videos to the
videos that actually convert. And then,
of course, I have how-to videos like how
to get a digital marketing job and how
to choose the perfect college degree for
you. And you'll notice that a lot of
these different types of videos actually
just send views to each other. So,
people might come in from a top offunnel
listical video about how to get a remote
job. And then they might watch a how-to
video about how to get a digital
marketing job specifically. And then
from the how-to video, they might watch
a case study video about how James got a
digital marketing job. And then from
that case study video, they might watch
the full interview video and then they
end up buying. So, my videos are almost
like a little referral network that are
constantly sending viewers to each other
and specifically trying to funnel them
to the videos that convert better. And
the best part is once you have this
system set up, it works 24/7, even when
you're sleeping or partying in Thailand.
So, if you want to find examples for the
types of videos that you could make in
your niche, just to give you ideas, then
you can use this prompt right here,
which I'll go ahead and put on the
screen right now. And then you can just
go ahead and find an example video from
one of your competitors that did really
well. So I'll go ahead and do this for
one of my clients, Sean. He's in the
Amazon KDP niche. And then I'm just
going to go ahead and screenshot the
other person's video that did well. Put
it after the prompt. Then I'm going to
press enter. And we'll wait for the
prompt to come up with a bunch of
different video ideas for how-tos,
listicles, testimonials, case studies,
etc. Okay, so here's what it came up
with. And these are pretty good. Now,
I'm not going to say these are as good
as like a professional coach telling you
exactly what to do. But with that being
said, this is a solid 8 out of 10,
right? And it AI did pretty much all the
work for you. So, you'd look at these
and if any of them really resonate with
you, if you, you know, maybe think that
they would be really fun to make, then
go ahead and try it out. Now, here's the
framework for making videos that
actually convert viewers into leads and
customers. Step one in your video is you
want to craft a powerful intro that has
a really good hook right at the
beginning that hooks people in under 15
to 30 seconds. And this is going to
include why viewers should care, what
they'll learn, and why you're credible.
And you'll see that I did this right at
the beginning of my video. So, I started
the video off by asking a question
basically saying, "Do you know why most
YouTubers are broke despite having a ton
of views and subscribers?" Then I talked
about the fact that I make six figures a
month on YouTube. And then I talked
about how I'm going to show you the
system that'll allow you to do this as
well. So the intro is really important
and I will usually write five intros for
a single video and then I'll pick my
favorite one. Okay. Now step two, and
this is one of my biggest secrets and
it's something that I've done probably
500 times in my videos that's made a
massive difference is I like to include
a pattern interrupt right at the
beginning of a video. So just as an
example, if I am making a listical
video, the very first thing that I put
on the list will be a pattern interrupt.
So what exactly do I mean by a pattern
interrupt? Well, it's something that's
just unusual. It's something that was
unexpected, but still good. And a lot of
the time, this pattern interrupt is
going to be gross, shocking, or it just
really gets the person's attention. So,
just as an example, in the number one
video right now on my main channel that
has over 5 million views, nine boring
but high-paying remote jobs, the very
first job on the list that I talk about
is a remote funeral sales specialist.
That is shocking, right? Like, a lot of
people don't even know that that job
exists. It's a little bit morbid as
well. And so, it is a really good
pattern interrupt. So, you really want
to frontload your video by either
putting some type of pattern interrupt
in the front that's either weird or
shocking or put something incredibly
valuable at the very beginning of your
video. And honestly, most YouTubers
completely screw this up. They save the
good stuff until the end of the video
and then nobody ends up even seeing it.
And when you put either a pattern
interrupt or something really valuable
at the beginning of your video, even if
they end up not watching the video cuz
they get busy and they have to do
something else, it's going to leave an
impression on them, right? They're going
to feel some type of emotion in their
head, which is going to make it more
likely for them to come back to your
videos in the future. Now, the next
thing I recommend that you do is have a
soft call to action at the beginning of
your video. Usually, this is going to be
within the first 3 to 5 minutes of the
video and then a very strong call to
action towards the end of your video.
Now, what exactly do I mean by a soft
call to action? Usually, what I mean by
that is some type of lead magnet, which
by the way, definitely get that lead
magnet down in the description, the pin
comment below, like I mentioned before.
But the soft call to action at the
beginning of your video is great because
you're giving people free value. So
basically, it's a very valuable thing
that took me a long time to make and you
get it for free in exchange for your
email. And so people are going to grab
that and then continue watching the
video and they're going to feel grateful
because you gave them some value. And
then the hard call to action is going to
be at the end of the video where you
actually tell them to book a call with
you or try to sell them something. Now
some people don't do this at all on
their videos. They basically just get
the emails upfront and then they sell
with their email list. And don't get me
wrong, that is a valid strategy as well.
For me, I like to be upfront with people
because most of the people watching my
channel are highle business owners and
they know that I'm going to sell them
something. So, I don't need to be slimy
about it and just try to sell them in
the email. I'm just upfront like
obviously I offer coaching and
consulting. And if you want to get good
at YouTube, you can either pay with your
time or pay with your money and most of
the types of people that I work with
want to pay with their money. And so
you'll notice that at the end of almost
every video or at least towards the end,
I tell people that they can book a call
with me down in the description and the
pin comment below. With that being said,
if you're working with a little bit more
of a mass market audience, sometimes the
indirect approach is going to be quite a
bit better. So a lot of the time it's
going to be better to just get people on
your email list, nurture them on the
email list for a while, and then sell
them later on. Because if you try to
sell them something upfront, they're
going to hate you for it because they
don't understand how business works.
Whereas, if you're selling to a B2B
audience, it doesn't really matter that
much and you can sell upfront because
again, they understand how business
works and they understand that they're
either going to pay with their time and
effort or they're going to pay with
their money if they want to get good at
something. Now, I get business owners
all the time that are just like, Shane,
I'm a I'm afraid to do a call to action.
You know, I I don't want people to think
that I'm trying to sell them something.
And usually, they're just completely
wrong about that. It's completely fine
to do it, but there are some markets
where you do have to be more indirect
with it. And in that case, just give
them free stuff. Nobody is going to get
mad at you for giving them free value
and solving their problems. The next
step is to steal like an artist. So
instead of stealing everything from one
person, which is what a lot of YouTubers
do, what you want to do is steal a tiny
little bit from a bunch of different
channels. So maybe you like Peter
McKinnon's camera, so you could get his
camera, right? And then maybe you also
like Casey Neistat's set, so you could
steal a set similar to him. And maybe
you like the storytelling from Mr.
Ballin. So you would tell stories like
Mr. Ballin does, etc., etc. So you take
a bunch of different things and you kind
of mold them into something completely
new. And this is especially important
when it comes to commoditized
information. Now I would say at least
80% of the information out there now
with AI is commoditized. People can just
look up most information completely free
or incredibly cheaply with AI. Now
certain highlevel information is not
commoditized. it's kind of somewhat
still gatekept or AI might have some
trouble telling you the right
information for the right situation in
the right time but regardless
information is getting more and more
commoditized and so you need to bring
value to the table in a different way
either by making the information more
entertaining having some sort of alpha
or information that is not commoditized
that most people don't know or combining
it with your personality and presenting
it in a different way. So, examples of
doing that would be you could have a
whiteboard behind you and you could be
drawing on the whiteboard or you could
have your iPad right in front of you and
you could be writing and drawing on the
iPad or you could be sharing your
screen. You could present the
information in that way where you're
basically doing something on your screen
and you're sharing it or you could be
presenting information as a PowerPoint
or you could be doing it as a
traditional talking head video etc etc
etc. There's a lot of different ways for
you to present the information that can
allow you to differentiate yourself. And
then finally, step five is to track and
optimize. So we like to use Hyros for
our tracking. And I'm not going to lie,
Hyros is a pretty expensive software. So
before we used Hyros, we used short.io.
And this is basically a way of telling,
you know, how many people are clicking
on your links and whether those people
are actually buying stuff. But you
definitely want to be tracking link
clicks and figuring out what videos are
driving people to actually buy stuff.
Because when you determine that, what
you can do is make those types of videos
and then send views from the other
videos to those. All right, so once you
have viewers, you need to convert them
into actual paying customers. And there
are three sales approaches that work
really well. Now, the first one is the
easiest one, and it's the one that I
recommend to a lot of my clients. I
actually used this approach when I first
started on this channel, and that is
literally just putting a Calendarly link
on your channel. Now, a Calendarly link
allows people to sign up for a call that
will end up in your calendar. So, you
see it when they sign up for a call. And
you can ask them a few questions to
qualify them to see if they're a good
fit to actually get into your program
and get your coaching or whatever you're
selling. And this works surprisingly
well because so many people are used to,
you know, links that go to VSSLs or a
lead magnet or a webinar that when you
literally just put your Calendarly link
in the description or in your about
section on your channel, a lot of people
end up booking calls with you. like
you'll seriously probably get like five
times more calls booked. The only
problem is many of those people will not
be qualified. So, what you'll want to do
is go through your calendar, see their
answers to their questions that you ask,
and then delete the call if they aren't
qualified. Now, by the way, I should say
here, you know, if you don't want to do
high ticket, of course, you can sell
courses, you can do low ticket
membership, you can do SAS, whatever
else you want to do. With that being
said, high ticket is by far the easiest
way to make money when it comes to
education. and it usually makes
somewhere between three to five times
more than like medium ticket or low
ticket. Okay, next is the video sales
letter. So, this is absolutely proven.
It's worked for the last like 20 years.
And this is basically where you send
people to a video version of a sales
letter. So, if you click my link, this
is what you will now see. It's a video
that basically explains, you know, who
the offer is for. So, it qualifies them.
So, if it's not for them, they're just
going to click off. It explains what
problem your offer solves, the outcomes
that you're going to help them to get,
and the process of working with you. So,
if you're selling to a B2B or
sophisticated audience, the VSSL is
going to be very short because business
owners don't have that much time. If
you're selling to a B TOC or less
sophisticated audience, you can make the
VSSL quite a bit longer. I've even seen
them up to 45 minutes to an hour. So,
B2B, 5 to 15 minutes. B TOC, you could
do anywhere from like 10 minutes all the
way up to an hour. And then the third
one is going to be a live webinar. So,
this is basically a live training.
Sometimes people will call this a
workshop or a training or, you know,
webinar, etc. They're all basically the
same thing, but it's basically a live
training where people will be able to
show up and interact with you live and
you'll be teaching them how to do the
thing that you teach. So, I think right
before the pandemic, these stopped
working really well. And then during the
pandemic, people got really burned out
on live webinars cuz so many people were
doing them. And so, they kind of stopped
working and they weren't that effective.
But lately, they've been working
incredibly well. And I think a lot of
this has to do with the rise of AI. If
you're on a webinar, you know, you can't
script every word that you say, right?
You pretty much have to be able to talk
off the top of your head and you have to
be able to demonstrate that you're an
expert. And so, yeah, webinars work
really well. Live webinars, a lot of
people like to do them once a month.
Some people will do them once a week.
Additionally, a modified version of a
webinar is what's known as a challenge,
where it's a multi-day webinar. So, it
might be anywhere from 3 to 7 days. And
if you're going to do those, typically
you do them maybe once every 3 months.
But yeah, webinars can be really good.
And then of course, all of these things
can be promoted from your email list. So
if you already have an email list, I
would try all of these out. Try sending
out your direct Calendarly link. And
chances are you're going to book a lot
of people. Try sending people your VSSL.
It's going to do pretty well, too, and
it's going to qualify people better.
Then of course, send out your webinar to
your list. Now, when someone joins your
email list, you need to have a sequence.
These are automatic emails that are
going to be sent to them right after
joining your list. and usually they're
going to be sent to them daily. Now, a
simple way of doing this is just a
simple 7-day email sequence. So, you
might welcome them with value. That
would be the first email. So, welcome
them and give them something valuable.
And then the second email, you would
amplify their problem, right? So,
whatever problem caused them to sign up
for the email in the first place, you
would want to amplify that problem. Then
the third email, you would introduce the
solution, right? So, tell them what the
solution to their problem is. And then
in the fourth email, you would have
testimonial proof, right? So someone
else that implemented that solution and
had success. And then in the fifth
email, you'd have an FAQ addressing
objections. So frequently asked
questions that people oftentimes bring
up. You would address those objections.
Then in the sixth email, you'd have a
scarcity trigger. This is basically a
way of saying like, "Hey, this offer is
not going to be here forever, so get it
while you can." And then finally, the
seventh email, you'd have a last chance.
So this sequence pretty much prints
money once it's set up. And no, I'm not
exaggerating. An email list is almost
like a freaking ATM for your business.
Now, listen, if you're serious about
scaling your YouTube channel to six
figures a month, I can help you get
there faster. I've helped dozens of
clients implement this exact system. So,
click the link in the description to
book a strategy call with my team. Fair
warning, though, this isn't for tire
kickers or people who think that they
can build this without putting in the
work. Only book a call if you're serious
about transforming your channel into a
revenue machine. And that'll be down in
the description and the pen comment
below. And what we'll do on this call is
we'll figure out where you are now,
where you want to be in the future, so
what your goal is. We will talk about a
plan to get to your goal, and then we'll
see if we're a good fit to work together
or not. And just as an example of
someone I work with, check out this
