Motorcycle Trip to Magadan with Tenere 700. In this video series, I will show you my trip from Varna to Magadan. No fancy edition, just raw reality.
Beautiful mountains, road that is going like a snake my direction and this is
actually the famous Skalnik that I told you before. Rocks, with these rocks they
actually make the road. The last hour or so it's only flat but I can see the
mountains over there. I cannot see the bear but anyway just to be sure I did
not turn off the motorcycle in the case I see it I can twist the throttle so it
will eventually this will scare the bear. So now the moment we pay 50 euros for
this terrible hole for two people with the toilet and shower on the floor and
they are in I'll say interesting condition. But anyway when we don't have
any other options this is the situation.
Okay, this is the petrol station G2 here. Okay, man this is hard.
You see what I see? This is nothing.
This is the situation.
This is one of the camps, one of Gulag camps, but there is a river, let me see how deep
is this river. This water is fine, this river is fine, but we just found information online
and read from someone who visited the camp 6 years ago and he said that later there are
two big rivers that are overflowed and the level of the river was something like 1.5
meters, 6 years ago. How it is going to be now, we don't know. Could be less, could be more. The
problem is that this is already contaminated water. Forget about it. The water is contaminated
because the camp actually was digging for uranium, it was uranium mine over there and all of this now
is in the soil and into the water.
again and it is time to eat something because since we ate at this coffee early morning,
Omchak, nothing else. Omchak. You cannot sleep here, there are cafes so you can eat,
but no hotels, no guest houses, nothing like this.
Omchak.
It's around 3 o'clock now, not much time to waste.
The petrol station works.
Tank is full again, good. On this section, petrol camp is not needed.
This is one of the passes on the Tinkinsky Oetrase. I'm gonna show you where it is after I reach the
top. I'm gonna show you on the map. Pereval Kulu, 1183 meters. Okay, I was in Magadan, I came on
this track, P504, but now I will go back on this track and I am exactly here. I will have more
like 200 kilometers to Susuman. Once I get to the main road, I have to return
like 30 kilometers to Susuman, spend the night, refill the petrol, refill the petrol can and on
the next day I have to go to Ust-Nera. This is 400 kilometers without petrol station.
And this track actually is very interesting, very beautiful, a lot of mountains and not much
traffic. So far I made like, I don't know, like maybe 10 tracks, but these 10 trucks were more
than enough to remember it forever. They were so dusty, man, so so difficult to overtake them,
but this is the only way. If you don't overtake them, that is mean to ride many hours in the dust,
which is not recommended at all. But as you can see, the surface here is very flat, dry, no mud,
of course a lot of dust, but at least it's easy to travel with more speed.
Let's see what Pavel will say. He probably want to show me something.
He came on this track three days ago. I came from the main road
my direction. Wonderful. And this is actually the famous Skalnik that I told you before.
Rocks with these rocks, they actually make the road before. Now it has only a part here and there,
not that many, but these rocks are very sharp, as you can see, and very easy to cut the tires.
That's why here in these roads it's not recommended to go with less than 2.2 bars in the tires,
because this can easily just damage the tire. Anyway, fantastic spot, observation point.
As I said before, every day got some kind of reward. So this pass is like a reward for all
the dust that I ate earlier. At the moment it's already 19 degrees, finally getting hot,
finally, after, I don't know, a week,
or maybe more, on 10, 11, 12, 13 degrees, finally I have 19. 19 and sunny!
Nice.
It's a cool river.
Big river. Oh, it is so nice to remove this rain jacket and to get some ventilation, man.
In the last hour or so it's only flat, but I can see the mountains over there,
and the next two passes should be very close. After these passes I'll go to the main road.
I've got like 100 kilometers more.
Bas Gavryushka, 1182, finally, finally I start climbing again.
So,
this is something, huh? This and this. Ay, man.
Perfect. So we are here, in this corner.
Ah, man, this was a fantastic experience here. This, uh, Kinkinskoje trase,
it's actually very, very nice to ride. Absolutely beautiful,
no traffic, just a few trucks today. The surface is much better than the other truck,
and the views, just by yourself. Fantastic, fantastic.
This is the pass Gavryushka, 1181 meters.
But with this tire now, it's such a pleasure to ride on this type of terrains. Have a look.
Dunlop D908F. Perfect. The rear, it's on 50% of its life. I hope it will survive until
Chita, 4,000 more kilometers. A little bit less than 4,000 kilometers.
And then I'm gonna change it again. Ay, man, such a pleasure.
Very interesting day. Very interesting day. Long but interesting. We start at 6 o'clock,
now it's 5.30, which has been 12 hours, almost 12 hours. And it will be like 13 hours
before we finish. But as I said, I did not get bored even for a minute. It was very interesting.
Met two guys from Irkutsk and Novosibirsk. They fix flat tires. They got a lot of flat tires.
It was nice to talk a little bit with these nice guys to refresh the day. And they said that on the
next pass, there is a bear going around. So they said better don't stop over there.
beautiful, beautiful.
See the colors, man.
I cannot see the bear. But anyway, just to be sure, I did not turn off the motorcycle.
In the case I see it, I can twist the throttle so it will, eventually this will scare the bear.
This is the connection on the main road. Now I'm gonna turn right and then it's 36 kilometers to
Susuman. Here now you can see one real golden mine. You see the digger and the trucks. The digger
loads the trucks with sand and gravel, whatever they have. The trucks going over there.
And at the end of this hill there is, I don't know what is the name of this, that clean the sand.
And if there is gold, they collect the gold.
And mines like this, I don't know, hundreds, hundreds here. So many everywhere.
And of course they need a river because they need water from the river to clean the
the sand and the soil. They have pumps. Deja vu. The same hotel, the same parking spot,
the same person. A little change. The hotel that we used before was fully booked, no rooms. So
we had to find an alternative solution and there are only two hotels in the town, Susuman.
So now we're in the second, which is in tragical condition. I'm going to show you after a while.
Right next to the front door, where the entrance of the hotel is,
there is one drone guy sleeping there from three days. It smelled on everything.
But whatever, we came to the hotel and the lady behind the reception, we asked her
how much is the room and she said 25 euros per person. And I said, why are you laughing? Yeah,
because these are our prices. They know that people have no other options and they just
twist their hands. So now the moment we're paying 50 euros for this terrible hall for two people
with the toilet and shower on the floor. And they are in, I'll say, interesting condition.
But anyway, when we don't have any other options, this is the situation. This is the room,
two beds. You can see the sheet with a big hole. Paper walls are falling apart.
Here it's written, if you use the plug socket, hold it when you unplug your stuff.
It has a fridge here, which doesn't work, but it is what it is. We are tired, just need to
sleep and continue tomorrow. And because here around this hotel is very open space, very dark,
I don't really like it. I went to the other hotel and asked them, is it possible to park the
motorcycles outside under the cameras? So they said, yeah, no problem. So the motorcycles are
there, but we are here. Tomorrow morning we'll pick it up first and then load it here.
Good morning from Susuman. What time it is? Six o'clock, two degrees.
This is the luxury hotel that I explained to you. Man, it was a catastrophe.
Not good at all. The room was, I already showed the room,
price expensive. This is the one that we stayed last time, it is better, Susuman Zolota,
but it was booked. Anyway, we kept the bikes there, brought it early morning here just to load it.
The plan today is to reach Usnera, 400 kilometers. Not that bad, we start on time. I hope we'll be
there on time to relax properly. I have a few small things to fix on the bike, nothing serious,
like this one here, need to put one washer, so we'll be all right. This guy, this hitchhiker
came to me when I was loading the bike and he said, ah, I'm sorry I told that you're with the
car. I said, do you want me to take you with me? And he said, oh no, no, no, no, no, thank you,
thank you. All right, fair enough. So now this destination is 30 kilometers, I have to do it
four times already, and Povil for the sixth time. One degrees, it is cold.
This is a unique picture and I would like to capture it if it's possible.
9.30, 9 degrees, nothing really to film on this road. I've been here before, I already have
filmed everything. I hope that there will be a cafe in this village, but
I haven't eaten anything from last night. After 270 kilometers, the rain stopped,
and I used this moment to refuel my petrol can into the tank and leave it here. I'm sure that
someone will take it. It's a nice gift. I don't need it anymore. And now we have left 130 kilometers
to Ust-Nera. It's too cold, like 11 degrees at the moment, but much better from what it was before.
The situation is muddy, but at least it has some views with the forest and the clouds.
Muddy but beautiful. Yeah, big river though.
This road now is to the old wooden bridge that I would like to film.
One of hundreds, maybe thousands old bridges like this that are not safe to cross anymore.
Just one of them. Very interesting construction. I'm gonna show you everything.
I'll go down just to show the construction. But yeah, you can see what is the condition now.
All the bridges are new, concrete like the one over there. This is the official bridge
where the road is coming. This is not used anymore. See how complicated the construction is.
I don't know why they decided to build it this way. This, this, this, so many beams.
I think it could be done much easier, but maybe this was the only technology they used back then.
One of many rivers. See the muddy, muddy boots. Actually, I have made a serious test of my
expedition. H2O boots. So far, so good. 100 more kilometers to Snera.
