Once upon a time there lived a young man named Gaurav in a small town.
Gaurav was like many others. He had big dreams. He wanted success, recognition and a better life.
He often imagined himself achieving great things. Standing on big stages, people clapping for him,
living a life full of respect and money. But there was one problem. While his dreams were big,
his actions were almost none. Every morning he would make new plans. From tomorrow,
I'll wake up early. I'll start working. I'll change my life, he told himself.
But when tomorrow came, he would sleep in, waste time, scroll endlessly and postpone
everything for another day. His family often told him, son, understand the value of time.
Every second you waste is a step away from your dreams. But Gaurav would smile and think,
there's still time. I'll fix everything, later. One day, feeling restless and disappointed with
himself, Gaurav decided to visit an old wise man who lived nearby. People in the town said this
old man had answers to life's toughest questions. When Gaurav reached, the old man was sitting
silently under a tree, eyes closed, meditating. Gaurav stood there for a moment, watching him.
Then he folded his hands and said softly, Sir, I feel like I'm failing at life. My dreams are big,
but I can't seem to do anything about them. Days go by and I remain the same. Please, help me.
Tell me what I should do. The old man slowly opened his eyes, looked at Gaurav, and after a
brief pause, he smiled and said, let me tell you a story. Once, there was a kind-hearted king who
loved his people. One day, the king met a poor man, lazy and struggling, with no money, no job
and no respect in society. The king asked him, why do you think you are stuck like this?
The man blamed everyone but himself. No one gives me a job. People think I'm useless. Life has been
unfair to me, he said. The king felt pity and made him an offer. Come to my palace before sunset
today, and whatever gold and silver you can carry from my treasury, it will all be yours.
The man was overjoyed. He ran home to tell his wife. His wife said, go quickly, don't waste time.
But the man replied, I'm hungry, let me eat first. After eating, he felt sleepy. Just a short nap,
I have plenty of time, he thought. He ended up sleeping for two hours.
When he woke up, panic hit him. He grabbed some bags and started running towards the palace.
But the sun was scorching hot. On the way, he stopped under a tree for some rest.
The cool breeze, the shade, it made him sleepy again. This time, he slept for four more hours.
When he finally woke up, the sun had almost set. The man ran as fast as he could towards the palace.
But when he reached, the gates were closed. The opportunity was gone forever. He stood outside
the palace, heartbroken, regretting every wasted moment. As the old man finished the story,
he looked at Gorov, waiting for a response. For the first time, Gorov didn't have any excuses,
no blame, no defense, just realization. He stood up, bowed to the old man and said,
thank you, I understand now. From that day, Gorov made a silent promise to himself,
no more delaying, no more wasting time. He started taking small steps. And with each passing day,
he became more focused, more disciplined. Slowly but surely, he moved closer to his dreams.
This story teaches us that time is the most valuable resource we have. Lost opportunities,
missed chances, they never come back. Procrastination and laziness may feel
comfortable today, but tomorrow they become regret. Just like the man in the story who
kept delaying, many of us waste our precious moments thinking we have plenty of time left.
But the truth is, time waits for no one. If you don't value time, time won't value you.
They say you can earn back lost money, but never lost time. So, make every moment count.
If you have dreams, get up, start now. Even small actions today are better than perfect plans
tomorrow. Value your time, value your life, and take action before it's too late.
