Fancy Hagood - BUS INVADERS Ep. 2088

Hey, I'm Fancy Haygood. We are on the American Spirit Tour in Chicago, and this is my ride. So up here, the cockpit, we all take turns driving. I've driven a bit. My dude Jack drives a bit. Everyone kind of takes a turn when they can. But me and Jack, we've been like locking in up here, learning about music, like stuff that I hadn't necessarily heard before. I was familiar with the artists, but not their whole catalog. And when you're out here, you have so much time to just dive in on people. So I've really gotten a big schooling on Neil Young, Don Williams. I mean, I've really gone hard with Waxahachie this run. Her album Tiger's Blood is kind of always on repeat in here. So yeah, this is really a school as well. It's like where I'm learning about music I wasn't quite familiar with. And the Oxford, you know, it gets shared. So we're learning a lot about a lot. So it's really fun. All right, so I'm a tchotchkes girlie. So we were just in North Carolina at Merle Fest, and I got this little bird. I collect stained glass little tchotchkes for my sunroom. So I got her for my sunroom. So this is where she sits so I don't break her. And then also, I always have some ketchup on hand because I'm a chicken tendies girlie. And nothing is worse than when you go through the drive-thru and they don't give you sauce. So I always have my own. Yeah, and then, you know, got some cash when you got to stop and get the Red Bull, the Celsius, the coffee. And we keep that stocked in the back as well. So yeah, not much going on up here, but the essentials, you know. So we got me and the band, which is like four other guys. We're a five piece. And then my opener, Abbey Cone, who's incredible. If you're not familiar, you got to go check Abbey out. She kind of like piles in the back and like takes that bench row. And then my guitar player, Greg, and my bass player, James, share this bench seat. And then my drummer, Chris, he has some back issues. So he has to like lay out right here and like kind of keep his whole thing going down up here. He has a whole rig with him of like things to sit on and like back braces and everything. So this is his and then me and Jack are usually up here. So up here we have a TV and there's a PS4 in here. So the guys can play games and ball out back here while other people are driving. I'm not much of a gamer. If they had Fortnite in here, I'd be popping off, but they don't. So yeah, I forget what games they actually have. There's a sports game and a racing game. So they kind of pop off on that. But I also have this guy, this is Merle. He's become our mascot. I got him at Merle Fest as well. I have an owl in my backyard at home. So I just figured I could take this home and learn how to communicate with the animals. In my backyard. Yeah, it's getting wild out here. So snackage is, you know, you gotta have Tic Tacs to keep the breath fresh for the fans and the meet and greets. To be honest, I've not eaten this. I bought it. It looks like healthy. I don't know that it is, but there was a cookie dough one as well and that got eaten and this is still here. And then I'm real big on the breakfast bars. But the real treat, meat sticks. Can't leave the house without them. Gotta have the protein. And then I'm actually glad we're doing this because I just found extra merch. So gotta sell these bad boys tonight. I need gas money. These are just leftover things from little cold brew action from Costco. Shout out Costco. Red Bull. Oh, this is a Pacifica. Good thing this is in the backseat. Am I right? Yeah. I'm not sure how that got there. But yeah, we're pretty much Green Room Bandits. We stock up on Green Room everything. So especially if you're at a bar like we're at tonight, Carroll's Pub, where they're feeding you and you can get drinks at the bar. A lot of stuff is just left in the Green Room. I myself am a Diet Coke fanatic. So there's usually a large amount of Diet Coke in the vicinity of this van. So, and then also I just stole this box from Carroll's Pub because I, like I said earlier, I'm a tchotchkes girlie. So there's an antique store here in Chicago that I have to hit tomorrow. So I stole this to put things in it so I can get it home. Always on the rider for us. I love a veggie tray. Has to have ranch. I won't eat a vegetable without ranch. Diet Coke is an essential. I have found out that Diet Coke is a hot commodity. Every guitar player I've ever had has also been obsessed with Diet Coke. So we have to have a lot because there has to be at least six or seven like set aside for me. And then everyone else can help themselves to whatever. We usually have vodka, like Tito's, tequila, Miller Lite. We're pretty easy. We're an easy crew. So it doesn't take a lot. I need fruit. Usually grapes is what I prefer. Doesn't matter what kind. That's just because it's nature's candy. I can't have candy every night, although I want it. I keep it off the rider. So we have fruit on there to replace that. Yeah, we're pretty simple. So my drummer has like back issues and traveling in a van is not, even if you don't have back issues, you can sometimes leave with them. So he has this whole setup. There's like that cushion. He has this guy, you know, you put this there and then he's brilliant and carries this, which you attach to the back of the seat. So he can watch anything whenever, however, which makes me very jealous because if I was riding back here, I'd be doing this pretty much the whole time, catching up on my housewives. So, and then, oh, he also has this. He has this whole rig. It's like this whole thing that keeps him in pretty good shape. So you make do. So this is where we keep all of the gear, all the merch, everything. And it gets filled to the brim. There's no space left in here by the time we get everything from the show in the back. And Greg, my electric guitar player, he is the Tetris master. He can move everything to make it fit and it's wild. And he's just getting better and better at it, which is not a talent I possess. So I'm really grateful for Greg. And yeah, just everything goes back here and it's pretty crazy to see it because there is not much room. I wish it was where I could ride because this feels very nice and private and quiet, but there's no room for me once we put everything in. So, yeah. I'm Fancy Haygood.
