[Music] hi guys how you all doing today i just arrived to pick up my take on oda i was craving thai food this place seems pretty authentic so i hope it's good morning [Music] hi i came to pick up my order please come have a fire salon yes it's been almost a year since i was able to travel and i really miss traveling and i miss thailand i miss vietnam i miss korea i miss thai food vietnamese food korean food i hope this thai food is close to being authentic smells pretty good i got chicken pad thai shrimp tom car soup papaya salad fresh spring rolls they also gave me some rice to go with the okay i'm gonna start off with some papaya salad this is better it's good papaya sauce but it's not spicy at all i could use some of these homegrown chili peppers definitely need to chase with this the papaya sauce i used to eat in eastern thailand when i lived there whoa there was so spicy but so good though these little chillies i have in my garden they are pretty spicy they're almost like a thai bar sorry chili peppers i'm gonna try the fresh spring rolls next they gave me some peanut sauce just gonna dip in this take a bite let's play the peanut sauce something is missing in this though i think it's basil that's missing now i'm used to tasting thai foods lots of basil there are fresh arms i have some in my garden so i think i'm just gonna go get it now i got some thai basil from my garden definitely need to eat that with thai food so today's christmas eve you might think why are you eating thai food on christmas eve but i wanna eat thai food tomorrow christmas day is gonna be lots of meat and all that i just want to keep it light today and i was craving thai food really bad so tasting really good i started making uh some food videos since i'm stuck here right now for obvious reasons and uh i do enjoy making food videos i love food and i like sharing food with people with you anyhow pad thai now so this video is gonna be like me just kind of talking about random things so i hope you guys don't mind when i go to thailand i don't really eat pad thai because there are so many other good things to eat in thailand and part thai is really honestly not one of my favorite thai dishes piece of noodle went in my wall let's try pad thai thailand opened up for tourism a while ago and uh i've been keeping up to date about visa information visa process you either need a special toys visa or tourist visa for more information on these visas you need to go to either thai embassy website or tourism authority of thailand website for u.s citizens like me i could apply for just a tourist visa tr visa applying for those visas a rather complicated process you have to get a medical insurance which covers the sea virus i am debating on without fight myself in a few months i would like to start traveling again since i'm eating thai food i'm talking about thailand i am gonna talk a little bit about my teaching experience in thailand so in 2019 um i went to thailand to teach english in isa teaching in thailand to get started with teaching thailand is a very long process and pretty conflicted as well you have to do a lot of paperwork even after you get there and you start teaching there is more paperwork to do paperwork meaning like um applying for their teaching permit in thailand and getting a visa over there i had to do a visa run to laos which was quite an experience on israel so people in thailand are very nice very kind very helpful especially in the remote provinces and the kids were very friendly too and i enjoy my experience i am glad i had the experience and the opportunity however it's not something that i would like to be doing [Music] for a career or for the rest of my life i'm going to try this uh tonka soup with shrimp if you don't know what tonka soup is tomka sip is basically tom yum soup and they just add coconut milk to it tom yum soup is very sour and has this this very intense sour flavor but when you add coconut milk to this it kind of modifies the sourness less intense it's less intense and i personally prefer tonka soup this is yeah this is very good tomkasu i can really taste the lemongrass in this anyway i'm gonna talk a little bit more about the teaching in the school system over there is a little bit hard to comprehend for somebody like me feels used to a western education system pretty chaotic and disorganized and i mean it was fun in a way but it was very trying at first because i didn't understand what was going on you have to be okay resourcing some yano there to like say anything or change anything else or you just do what you're taught and you just kind of try to make the best of it i did enjoy the teaching part i like teaching and i love the kids but i just did not agree with everything the school did i had a lot of question marks in my head that if you are thinking about teaching in thailand or in other countries you just have to accept the way they do things and yeah you're gonna have to be okay with it that's all i'm gonna say about teaching something i can say about this year what's up it's been a time here i went to thailand singapore korea right before all this happens and i am so glad i did and yes and vietnam too and i do miss vietnam and the worst experience i had over there when i was there was uh one time i went to an atm and i tried to withdraw some money and after i started my atm card into an atm machine the card stayed in there i could not get my car back and i lived in such a small town in a remote province that i actually had to drive like an hour two away on a weekend when i wasn't in school of course to go to a big branch of a bank so they could reissue me a new atm card anyway i can just go home alone or afternoon while i'm
