Hey there lovelies!
Welcome back to my channel.
My name is Maddie where I love to talk all things makeup.
In this video I'm going to be covering 5 makeup hacks that you will be blown away by that
actually work.
So let's get into it.
These are 5 makeup hacks that I'm going to apply as I apply my whole face of makeup on
and then they can be applied in many different steps.
So first and foremost I'm going to be covering in, coming in with my color corrector in
the corner of my eye as I always start out by doing.
Gotta cover up that blueness there.
Okay now before we go ahead and put on our foundation this is where the first hack comes
in.
I learned this hack a few years ago.
I used to do it all the time but you know my skin has just changed as our skin just
always does living in different environments as well as you know getting older and things
like that.
And that's just what I found.
My skin used to be super super oily when I was younger but now it's not as oily.
I still get oily in my t-zone but not nearly nearly as much as I used to.
So it probably helps that I live in a little bit of a drier climate.
Okay so the first hack is you're going to need your puff and you're going to need some
loose powder.
Okay we're not going to be putting a ton of powder on okay just a little thin layer okay
we want to work in thin layers because if we pack on too much what's going to happen
is you know then you're going to put your layer of foundation and then maybe you need
some concealer and then you're going to put some more powder on and it's going to be layer
upon layer upon layer and if you do each layer thickly it's going to look really cakey
by the end of the day and even before you begin your day it's going to look cakey.
So I'm going to dip my puff in here and I'm going to really scrape that off okay on the
edge there and even though I've scraped it off there's still quite a lot of powder and
so I'm going to work that into the palm of my hand so it's really worked onto that that
puff there.
Then I'm only going to come in my oily spots okay just oily spots so this would be my chin
and you can see it's already mattifying okay already mattifying just a little bit.
Next would be my nose and then a little bit right here around my my pores and then last
spot I have like just teeny I'm going to take whatever's kind of like residual on my
hand teeny tiny bit here between my eyebrows I don't like to put too much here um because
it can very easily look very cakey right there so that's it that's your first hack is applying
your powder before you put your foundation on but just a little bit very thin layer um
just in the oily spots on your face and as you can see it's already mattified you know
if I turn my face you can see the glow from my um from my moisturizer my skin um natural
skin but where I put the powder you can see it's already mattified um in quite a few spots
and so that puts us in a very good position because that puts a layer there for our natural
oils to break through before it gets to our foundation right and it doesn't break up the
foundation really badly.
Okay now I'll come in with my foundation and also you know again thin layers thin layers
are going to be your best friend when it comes to this look and as you know always I am using
patting motion and especially when I get around to those powdered spots because I don't want
to disrupt the powder.
I'm just putting a thin layer of my foundation on today just mostly trying to create a blank
canvas here then we're going to come in with our concealer a little bit on the brownie
go ahead come in and set all of that concealer with some powder again.
Now I'm going to to finish that first hack I'm going to come in with a very very thin
layer of powder really scraping that off there and just put that everywhere that I need powder
to control the shine.
So the next hack involves bronzer and I'm going to be taking my Gucci bronzer here and
I'm going to take a flat kind of fluffy it's a it's a shape it's a fluffy blending brush
but it's a little bit flatter and that's because I want to come in I'm going to dip that in
there tap off the excess always go above my crease.
The hack is using bronzer as your eyeshadow this is especially helpful for when you are
traveling so that you don't have to take a whole bunch of products with you you know
or for for those very very busy mornings when you just don't have time to put on you know
a full eyeshadow look this gives you that sophisticated you know something it's a very
classic classic look actually it's just to do a little bit of bronzer on your eye just
to bring some depth and dimension you're just using that little bit of brown and the reason
I'm using this one is because it has kind of some more pinky tones in this bronzer which
is great for my more fair skin tone I am neutral but I do lean cool tone and I'm also going
to bring that under my eye just a little bit and there now you have this one and done beautiful
eyeshadow look that is very sophisticated looking so I'm going to go ahead and finish
hack has to do with our eyes still so I've got my eyes all done I put a little bit of
but the next hack has to do with a nude eyeliner and this one is from Colourpop and
the hack is putting the nude eyeliner in your waterline this is going to help you look more
awake okay in a very natural way so I'm going to go ahead and put it on one eye
and then I'll show you the comparison between each eye
okay so if you look at this eye you know it looks bright it looks good and now look at this eye
this is what it was before and now let's look at them side by side you see how this one is like
so much brighter there's just like that little bit of pop and it's from that nude liner and
my waterline these are for those mornings when you have those you know extra heavy bags
the kids didn't sleep or maybe they're waking up four or five times or maybe your neighbors
were screaming blasting their music you know just not a good night's sleep you're tossing
and turning right this is going to help you just look more awake all right I love using this trick
on those mornings that I am just really needing some extra oomph and it's not too stark you know
doesn't look too harsh or anything like that it's just that you know it's really bringing that
natural nude color pinkiness of that you know waterline to life and it's it's really just
enhancing it a little bit more so that's our third hack our fourth hack it's kind of a
combined thing here so I've got two different products here I have a lipstick
I have a lipstick and I have a blush so I have a cream blush and then I have this lipstick
and they're actually both in color once they're on but the lipstick looks just slightly darker
so I'm going to show you one side and I'll show you the other side but our next hack is using your
cream blush as your lipstick okay and you know wearing that cream blush as well because this is
going to help match everything together so you don't have to worry about you know finding a
lipstick shade that matches your blush perfectly so there you know it looks really really intense
in the pan but it goes on really really beautifully on my cheeks this is like one of my favorite
colors to wear in winter especially I'm going to go ahead and show you what that looks like on
so I went ahead and only put it on half of my lips here but as you can see that cream blush
and the lips they are matching perfectly here so you know really really awesome trick
to take with you you know again when you're traveling you know the fewer products that
you can take with you I mean just wonderful right and this is really slim packaging this is from
Tarte I'm just a cream blush and I actually just hit pan on it super happy I love hitting
pan on products again which is so so happy but um you know again very versatile products don't
have to be used for just you know what they were you know named to be used for so you know it's a
cream blush but I can also use it as a lipstick now to show you the other side here with this
lipstick so I'm going to show you putting it on my lips
so they are two different tones you know on my face but I just wanted to show you
really the trick the hack of doing this so I've got my blush or I've got my lipstick
I'm going to take my brush I just wiped the one that I used over here and I just wiped it off
so we should be good I'm gonna dip into my I'm gonna dip my brush into my lipstick
and then I'm going to apply this and just see how beautifully that translates just beautiful
berry color so that's why I said this is kind of like a two-in-one hack because you can take
cream blush and you can make a lipstick you can take a lipstick and make a cream blush you know
and you've got matching right so on this side of my face we have the darker berry and then we've
got the lighter berry so they're two different tones but I mean really they're they're pretty
close together so I'm just going to go ahead and um wipe this off on my lips because then that
next hack has to do with our lips okay and then I'm going to kind of match these up I'm going to
put a little bit of this cream blush on this side and then I'm gonna put some of this lipstick on
this side there you go now we're all matchy matchy okay the next hack I'm actually gonna put in I'm
gonna insert a bonus hack here for you okay if you stuck around this long please leave a star in
the comments to show me that you got this bonus hack before we move on to our last hack and so
the hack is to take your sponge and you see how mine has you know excess foundation and concealer
that I've been using what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna tap that over my lips and you see how it's
kind of like widening them out I am creating a blank canvas basically concealer lips right
I'm also gonna fill in those lines I am creating a blank canvas for my lipstick color to really
stand out and then I'm gonna take a little bit just teeny tiny remember we were talking very
very thin layers earlier very very very thin layer of powder this is also going to help your
lipstick last all day okay all day so there's your bonus hack using what's left on your sponge
a little bit of powder covering your lips and now we're going to move on to the last and final hack
last and final hack I actually came across this um I would say a couple years ago um when I was
doing a really fun Halloween look and you know I had done this really fun like spider web with
eyeliner on my eyes and I really wanted to do this kind of vampy red lip color um but I didn't have
you know the lip liner to be able to do that and so what I did was I actually took my eyeliner not
ago I used that one up but I took my eyeliner my black liner and I lined my lips and then I
filled it in with my red color and that made the perfect vampy red lip that I was going for so that
is my next hack is to take your eyeliner whatever color you have maybe it's a blue a purple I'm
going to be taking my brown um lip liner and sorry eyeliner and using it as a lip liner okay
this is going to create that depth dimension interest to your lips you know again makeup
products you can use them however you want it's to be it's a creative space a way for you to get
creative and think of other ways that you can use your products and this is just one of them
so I'm going to go ahead and line my lips with my eyeliner now and I really wanted to use this
brown liner because I do have a brown lip liner actually but it is not cool toned like this
to come in with that lipstick that we were using and I'm just going to fill in the empty space with
I don't want to cover up the lip line because really I want to blend these two together
now I'm going to take my finger you could also use a brush that would also work really well
I just like using my hands and also you see how it just really made like a different lip color
too so you know this lip color I show you here on my hand swatch of it
okay so it's really um a berry a berry color but on my lips with the mixture of that cool toned
brown eyeliner it made it a purple and you know again it brought visual interest to the look
my lips look purple but this color it really is like a red berry color but I was able to change
that up by just using one little product there you have it five makeup hacks with a bonus one
