In this video, I want to cover
indications that American Express is
getting ready to release not one but
three new credit cards. Then we also
have new easy to get welcome bonuses
with low spend requirements on three
Capital One cards. Hey credit warriors,
welcome to the show. My name is Ben
Hedges aka the credit shifu and on this
channel I cover US credit cards,
personal finance and luxury travel. If
you like the sound of that do subscribe
but let's get into it. We'll start with
these three new Capital One welcome
bonuses. Now, these are on three of
their lower-end cards. So, the spend
requirements to get these really aren't
that high. Could be good for people who
are newer to the game, although you're
still going to have to have a few other
cards before you can get these. You'll
find out why in just a moment. So, the
first one I want to show you is the
Capital 1 Quicks. Now, the version of
this card with the special offer is the
Capital 1 Quicks for excellent credit.
They also have versions for people with
good credit and with fair credit and
then a secured version. But it is the
version for excellent credit that has
the bonus that we're looking at. What is
excellent credit? Well, it's more about
a lack of negative information on your
credit report, like mispayments, etc.,
and credit history, than it is about a
certain level of credit score. In fact,
Capital One doesn't say what level your
credit score should be, but I would
guess, you know, over 700 is probably
where you want to be with no negative
marks, a three-year credit history, and
a card or loan having a limit over
$5,000. They specifically say that. So,
anyway, here is the bonus. Enjoy a $100
credit to use towards flights, stays,
and rental cars booked through Capital 1
Travel during your first card holder
year. plus earn a $200 cash bonus once
you spend $500 on purchases within the
first 3 months from account opening. So,
you can see the total value is $300,
which is pretty high for this card,
which is really just a basic no annual
fee cashback card from tier 2 in my five
tier credit card ladder system.
Obviously, you need to be going
somewhere within a year and willing to
book through the Capital 1 portal to get
the extra $100, but if you are willing
to do that, then it is a $300 bonus. So,
next we have the Saver card. This is
again the variety of Saver card for
excellent credit. Here is the bonus.
Enjoy a $100 credit to use towards
flights, stays, and rental cars booked
through Capital 1 Travel during your
first card holder year. plus earn a $200
cash bonus once you spend $500 on
purchases within the first 3 months from
account opening. Okay, so this one is
the same as the Quicks. It's $100 to use
on Capital 1 travel plus $200. The Saver
card is also a no annual fee cashback
card, although remember with Capital 1
you can actually transfer the cash back
to other cards where it becomes miles
and takes on more value if you have like
the Venture or something like that. But
if you only have this card, then it's
only cash back. As Miles though, it
would be worth more. All right, let's
now look at the final Capital One signup
bonus, and that is the
that would be on the Venture One card.
The Venture 1 is the no annual fee
version of the Venture, which is an
unlimited 2 miles on everything card.
The Venture 1, by contrast, is 1.25
miles on all spend, but it has no annual
fee. And in general, the welcome bonuses
on this card are not high. And this card
is currently offering that same welcome
bonus. $100 to use on Capital 1 Travel
and 20,000 miles. Okay, it's miles this
time, not dollars. And 20,000 miles
would be worth more than $200. The
points guy valuation for Capital 1 miles
is 1.85 cents a piece. So 20,000 points
would in theory be worth an average of
$370
when used in the right way. actually you
might get more value out of it. That's
just the average and that's based on
transferring it to airlines and hotels.
So those are three pretty easy to get
Capital One bonuses. Don't forget these
cards are for excellent credit. So you
have to have other cards with $5,000
limits and no negative marks on your
credit report to be accepted. If you
want something of the other extreme, the
Venture X business is currently offering
$150,000 miles for spending $30,000 in
your first 3 months. Okay, that's
another popular card from Capital 1.
Totally the other extreme there, but it
may benefit some people with businesses.
All right, let's move on to these
rumored new MX cards. But first, I am
all about letting you guys know about
great deals and helping you make money.
And right now, the brokerage app Mumu is
offering a really cool sign up bonus.
So, Nvidia has been one of the hottest
stocks over the past few years, and it
shows no signs of slowing down. Right
now, if you open a new brokerage account
with Mumu, you can get between 20 and
$1,000 worth of free Nvidia stock,
depending on how much you deposit in
your account. And obviously, the money
you deposit remains yours and is fully
SIPC insured. Mumu is, of course, a
fantastic commission-free stock
brokerage app where you can trade US and
international stocks and ETFs. You can
even track the portfolios of some of the
world's greatest investors like Nancy
Pelosi. What could be better? Click the
link below for that deal, but hurry, it
won't be around forever. So, new MX
cards. Here is a post that a reader of
Doctor of Credit made in the comments
section of the website. Possible MX
Marriott Biz refreshing coming. got this
in a survey. He then goes on to detail
three new Marriott cards. The Marriott
business, the Marriott Brilliant
Business, that would be the highest
level card, and the Marriott Bevy
business, that would be a mid-tier card.
So, you can see that these will kind of
mirror the personal portfolio of
Marriott MX cards, but not exactly.
Let's look at some of the differences.
So, some of the bonus categories are a
little different, more geared towards
business spend categories. You can also
see that the lowest level card, they
want to switch to a $160 Marriott
property credit instead of offering a
free night each year. Then the annual
fees are slightly higher on all of the
cards. The basic card would go from the
current business card, which is $125 up
to $150 per year. The business
brilliant, the highest level card, would
be $6.95. That's $45 higher than the
personal version. And the business bevy
would be $350
versus $250 on the personal bevy card.
But then on the bevy card, the business
version, the annual free night would be
at the $65,000 level versus the $50,000
level that it is at now. But you have to
spend $25,000 versus the current $15,000
a year to get it. I guess AMX thinks
that it's easier for business customers
to have a lot of spend. Now, this is
just a rumor at this stage based on one
person receiving a survey. So, if these
cards do come out, you can expect them
not to be exactly the same as what we
saw in this video and the survey. They
normally make a few tweaks since that's
why they are sending the survey out
anyway, right? To see what people think
and then they tweak it accordingly. But
these surveys have turned out to be
pretty accurate in the past. They
normally mean that something is going to
happen. What do you think of these
changes, guys? I think current holders
of the Marriott business card may miss
that free night and think that a
property credit, which normally when
it's called property credit, it's just
for room service and activities, not
actual bookings. I think they're going
to think that is a worse deal. But
anyway, leave your comments down below.
Tell me what you think. Don't forget to
get up to $1,000 worth of free Nvidia
stock with Mumu down in the links below.
Please subscribe to the channel if
you're new, and we'll see you in the
next video. Bye-bye.
