Let's do it.
One, two, three.
And this color.
This is the base.
If it's reddish, it's OK.
Here we go.
Bamboo, Uchiwa, uses Matake.
Bamboo like this.
First, this part.
This work is called Uchimi-otoru.
Uchimi-otoru means
this thickness is
3mm.
Uchimi-otoru means
2.7mm to 3mm.
After this,
we'll use Waki-ki.
There is a way to do it,
but I'll do it
like this until the end.
I've only done this much.
Bamboo is made of
fibers,
so if you do it
as if it were cotton,
the thickness will go down.
After doing this much,
it will look like this.
Depending on the craftsman,
there is a slight difference,
but it's about 3mm.
This part is
0.5mm.
I'll do it like this.
After doing this much,
I'll make a hole here.
After making a hole,
I'll draw a picture
so that it's easy to hold.
This is called Yumikama.
I'll put this in.
After doing this much,
I'll make a hole with a thread.
I'll make a hole
alternately.
Bamboo is made of
so I'll use the power
of the bamboo
to make a hole
alternately from both sides.
If I put the power
it will be flat.
This is 0.5mm.
This width is
3mm.
I'm aiming for this.
This is the basis
for making
bamboo bones.
The craftsman will do this much,
and I'll roughly divide it
and make the bones.
I'll go to a needle shop
and put it down at the needle shop.
In the old days,
I used to do that kind of work.
Recently,
I don't do mass production
because I'm pushed by plastic.
I don't want to lose to plastic,
so I do this kind of work
by hand.
I do it in a way
or a small production.
I'm doing it
in that direction.
I'm Motoshi Nakata,
I wasn't very conscious
about my age.
However,
ordinary people
tend to do
what they like
I thought
I could do that
when I was 30,
or I could do that
when I was 40.
So I didn't have
the feeling of
doing what I wanted to do.
I met a lot of people
and talked to them.
One day,
I read an article
about a woman
called Hayakawa,
of Harusagyo,
and I decided
to meet her.
When I visited her house,
she listened to me
and introduced
the chairman
of the team
to me.
At that time,
as a teacher,
I joined
Nishimoto's
workplace
and started
to make
traditional crafts.
Nowadays,
when there are
few craftsmen,
I make crafts
from cutting materials
to designing
the design of the
I sometimes
make uchiwa
and it doesn't sell well,
but I enjoy
It's self-expression.
I don't just make it
as a volunteer,
but I'm also interested
in how people
buy it and
how people
evaluate it.
I think
it's especially worth it.
The problem is
that even if you
make a good bamboo bone
and a good needle,
the design of the uchiwa
is important.
Even the bamboo bone
I made
for the first time
doesn't attract people.
For example,
when I first met a person,
I didn't think
what was going on
inside his bones,
so I used Japanese paper
that I thought was good
while facing
If I like this hanga,
I go to the person
I like
a little by little
until today
So if I don't like it,
I can quit today
I started from the beginning
If I don't like it,
I quit
I don't like it
From this Itoyama,
about 1 cm down
to the end,
sew like this
about 1 cm
Turn it over
and put glue on the paper
About
2 cm
down
sew
The gap between
this Itoyama
and this Itoyama
is about 7-8 mm
Put it in the middle
This is 7-8 mm
Put it so that it fits
the paper below
It's called Sasaragake,
but it's called Tawashi
front, front, front
This is the back side
This is also front, front, front
This is
the back side
sew from the bottom
This is called
Hamaguri
so that it fits
the paper
Hold it firmly
1, 2, 3
Next, cut this side
This is the part that
hasn't been melted
Make the glue bigger
and make the glue
a little thicker
You can't tear it by hand
It's a solid paper
Even if it's so thin,
you can't tear it by hand
so use scissors
Put it on
so that it comes
to the middle
so that it comes
to the middle
This is the hardest part
for those who are
It seems to be the most fun
to hit
To be honest,
I don't have the courage
to follow the tradition
I want my children to do it
Tradition is one of the
things that I want to create
using scissors and
using bamboo
what I imagined
and what I want to make
Use your actual
hand to create
There's a lot like that
But in reality,
it's hard to make a living
by making money
I don't know if we'll be able to do it, but if we develop it, I think we'll be able to prove it in the next 20 years.
Basically, it's about creativity and self-expression.
I'm Yamada from the Kagawa Prefecture Uchiwa Cooperative Association.
This is the Uchiwa Port Museum.
This is the Uchiwa Port Museum in Marugame.
Today, it has been transformed into a machine-cutting Uchiwa,
but in the past, we had to continue the technology of bamboo Uchiwa.
In that sense, we hold a technique and technique course once a year.
It will be held from November to December.
This is the 23rd time this year, so it will be the 23rd year.
The content of the training is to learn the production process of Marugame Uchiwa for about a month.
I'm going to work at an advertising agency next year, so I'm going to do a lot of PR, advertising, and events.
I applied because I wanted to try the traditional craft that I originally liked.
I think there are a lot of traditional crafts, but there is one that everyone can use.
I think it's good to be able to see the whole production process.
For example, in the case of lacquer painting, wood is made and painted.
I think it's good to see it as a whole.
I also like Uchiwa, so that's the most important thing.
I'm not in the generation where I sharpened with a pencil, so it's quite difficult.
It's all difficult, but it's all fun.
I can learn a lot of things that are completely different from what I've learned so far.
I like that kind of thing, so it's really fun.
They are very kind people.
They teach me every day.
When they perform, they make it beautifully.
I think it's amazing, so I teach them every day.
