How to find video editing clients on instagram can be less than easy if you're focusing soley on OUTREACH, but in todays video we'll showcase how finding video editing clients on instagram can actually be MUCH easier than you expect... IF you do things right. Without further ado lets get into: How to Find Video Editing Clients on Instagram | THIS WORKS!!!
What if how to find video editing clients on Instagram was the wrong question?
What if they were actually looking for you?
Jack, what are you talking about?
I have zero clients, bro.
Like, they're not looking for me.
We're going to show you how to change that.
I'm not going to talk about the theory of it all, pulling it from the internet,
researching, oh, how someone else did it.
No, this is exactly how I converted clients through Instagram on my come up as a
freelance video editor and as a freelance videographer.
Instagram was powerful for me, not for the traditional way of getting clients.
I wasn't sitting there sending off a bunch of messages and then converting people.
Now, that's not what I'm going to talk about today.
Today, I want to talk about how to leverage Instagram to start sending inbound leads to
you, aka people who are already marketed to and DM you and want to hire you.
Now, that's easier said than done to a certain extent, but I'm going to break down
firsthand experiences, how I've been able to do it real quickly.
We're sponsored by Video Production Plus.

More on that later.
Instagram has over a billion users worldwide.
Supposedly, 200 million people visit a business page every single day.
So people, whether you like it or not, are actually prone to be marketed to and purchase
things off of Instagram, right?
Everybody has a mate who bought one of those like gold Uzi chains back in the day when
they used to do the free item, just pay for shipping.
So people do buy on Instagram 100%.
Now, what we're going to talk about today is not like a hard sell.
I'm not going to tell you guys to run ads.
I'm not going to tell you to show your services on the story every day.
I'm really going to talk about creating content, positioning yourself as an expert and creating
inbound leads.
Instagram was huge for me.
I closed some fantastic projects through there and it weaponized local opportunities for
me.
For remote video editing opportunities, there are certainly better places to spend time.
But in terms of just building a brand, Instagram is super powerful.
I've done this in a couple of ways.
That's one of my Instagram pages.
This was a more formal kind of business page.
Now we documented our final projects there and we put them out and certainly people would
see that and convert to clients.
We would push that in our local area.
That was essentially a collaboration between me and my boy Noah and we would pop up, shoot
nightclubs, shoot music videos, et cetera.
Put that content on Instagram.
Awesome.
That wasn't really like the power of where I connected.
The power of where I connected was where I started documenting my journey on Instagram
and posting countless behind the scenes pictures.
I'd go to a shoot.
I'd put up some behind the scenes content.
I would be sat in the office.
I'd make some behind the scenes content.
Now there's only so long you can follow someone like that before you eventually come to the
conclusion that, okay, cool.
This person is professional.
They're actively working for loads of clients and they really do it.
So the kind of like convincing part of selling the client is over.
When a client hits you up, they're ready to buy and they're ready to come down to the
office and they would, they'd come down to the office.
We'd have a meeting.
Boom.
We'd close the client because they'd been warming up to me for weeks, months, even seeing
my posts, seeing my stories, probably seeing me interact with a bunch of other clients
because we documented, I was posting blogs.
So real quick, before we get to that, the real principle here is just visibility.
I was the most visible.
So I took work off other people.
I promise you when I moved to England from America, I moved to a very, very small area,
right?
It's called Devon, right?
It's a small County.
Now that was about four prominent videographers in that local area.
I took the lion's share of the work in that area, regardless of being, in my humble opinion,
the least experienced videographer out of the four, I took everybody's work.
And the reason was simple.
It was just visibility.
I was the most visible.
I was the one in front of people's faces every single day, marketing without marketing, selling
without selling.
And who would have known when someone wanted to hire a videographer, they didn't think
of the other three random people who they really might've seen one picture here, one
video here.
Maybe they heard from their mate.
No, they hired me because I was the most visible.
I was actually in their face.
Did I take every piece of work in the local area?
Of course not.
That's not realistic, but I took the lion's share.
I was certainly in the most demand because of my content strategy, which all revolved
around Instagram.
All right, quickly, before we continue with the video, I just want to make sure you understand
that I just dropped the VP plus outreach masterclass.
This is 20 episodes breaking down multiple different places that you guys can outreach
to freelance video editing clients.
We have two different episodes in each, each category split into a theory where we talk
about the do's, the don'ts, and that's like a notes taking episode.
And episode number two is the practical where we showcase live messages, outreach messages
that worked and converted the client outreach messages that didn't work and didn't convert
the client things you guys should be incorporating in your own approach.
Things you might not be incorporating.
This is four and a half hours of content, 20 episodes long.
If you join video production plus for $24.99 a month, you get access to this program and
multiple other programs as well.
Countless stuff on the way, a thousand plus digital assets and one-on-one calls with me.
It's the most competitive offer in the entire video production scene.
You should be inside and let's get back to the video.
So let's actually showcase my personal brand.
So on the screen right now is my Instagram.
Now, how do we get them?
How do we pull them in?
Let's load up some posts, right?
Music vid looking like a movie.
Cool.
That was 7th of March, 2018.
We've got behind the scenes pictures of me with the camera behind the scenes pictures
of me with some equipment.
Here's me in the club on New Year's Eve.
What you're trying to do here is you're just trying to position yourself as an expert.
The rationale behind creating content like this is showing you in the professional setting,
which just reinforces the ideas of professionalism, right?
So let's have a look at this.
I'm hanging out the trunk of a car.
We were going pretty fast.
I wasn't seat belted in.
I could have come out the back.
It was a bit crazy.
Boom.
Here's some behind the scenes of a car nearly smashing me, right?
We got a pretty cool shot.
I was uploading little mini vlogs as well.
So anytime we went to do a shoot, I'd turn it into a mini like 60 second vlog going to
the shoot, getting out the cameras.
And again, it's just showing the professional in the professional location.
So this is just the way I did it.
But the point is we made a lot of content.
Imagine you're following me.
Is there any debate whether I'm a professional?
Of course not.
You've seen me in multiple different locations with multiple different clients creating content,
putting out behind the scenes.
Now you have a project.
And who do you think of?
The person who's just been selling and unofficially marketing in your face all day long.
That's who you think of and you end up hiring them.
That's the domino effect that enabled me to pump out a bunch of content and eventually
create this massive inbound lead conversion beast, which enabled me to land a variety
of different projects.
I really weaponized my local community because they could see me every single day making
content and that led to hiring me on a bunch of different projects.
So how can you do the same?
Well, here's a step by step guide.
We've got six different steps for you.
Showcase your killer portfolio, put your best work on display.
For me, that was through my personal brand, right?
I was pumping out behind the scenes content.
Through the TQ9 media account, I was pumping out the finished projects.
I was obviously sharing those to Jack Cole and it was a nice setup.
If they see something once, they forget it.
If they see something twice, they start to pay attention four, five, six, seven, eight
times in their face.
Cool.
Now they know it.
Now they're looking out for it.
Maybe they like it.
Maybe they don't.
Whatever.
The point is you are visible and that's the main principle here.
I was the most visible, so I converted the most clients.
You need to engage with the people.
So I was very active in my DMs, responded to every single DM.
Nowadays, the DMs get a little bit intense.
I have a lot of other things.
I prioritize my VP plus members.
They get the response first.
However, back in the day, there was no DM that went a turn.
There was no comment that wasn't replied to.
It obviously resulted in conversions.
It obviously resulted in a warm community and there's no downside to responding to the
people who are posting onto your posts and hitting all your DMs back.
In fact, there's a downside to not doing it.
Collaborating with others is a potential part of this as well.
For me, the way I was able to generate so much short form content was that if there
was a gig going down, I made sure someone came with me and filmed behind the scenes.
I would cut them a decent bit of the cash I was getting.
Hey, come through, film behind the scenes.
I'll pay for some drinks for you for the night and give you a bit of cash.
Awesome.
Cool.
I then had behind the scenes content to market myself with social media and they got a free
night in the club.
Cool.
You get in for free.
I'll buy you a couple of drinks, whatever.
Easy peasy.
I wasn't trying to make my Instagram look pretty with the three tiles.
I wasn't trying to have a specific posting schedule.
I was just trying to shove as much content in their face as possible.
And over time, that certainly worked out.
Use your hashtag strategies.
Try and leverage the reach of Instagram, especially if you have some cool content.
We had some of those kind of semi-viral posts of me hanging out the car, stuff like that.
That's basic marketing stuff.
I won't even talk too much about that.
But make sure you're doing basic level marketing stuff to these videos to amplify them as far
as they can go.
So that right there is the video.
You guys hopefully got some value from it.
What is your takeaway from here?
The takeaway is Instagram is massively powerful for inbound leads.
For outbound leads can be a bit tricky.
Comment below if you're using it for outbound leads.
I know some designers who are great.
They actually convert a lot of music artists, rappers, etc.
for album covers straight off the back of Instagram because they're DMing them.
Anyways, that's the video done and dusted.
If you enjoyed this video, you're going to absolutely love this one.
The fact you haven't clicked it already is worrying.
I'm going to count down from three.
I want you to click it.
Three, two, one.
I'll see you there.
