Many fighters only know how to show off and trash talk their opponents before a fight. But when it is time for action, you see them chicken out and get humbled by their opponents. In this video, we’ve curated some of the best moments when cocky fighters got what they deserved.
Yeah, your whole team's s**t too. Your whole team's s**t too at the same time.
Your whole team's s**t. Your boy Liam Smith get beat up too if he a free agent,
he come to Memphis, he get this work too.
In October 2022, Russian Vladislav Twinov made his professional boxing debut against
American MMA fighter Julian Lane. The American fighter underrated his opponent and claimed
he was just a little child.
I said boxing, this is my sport, my era. We all seen Rocky, you know what I mean?
And he's not, he's no Drago. He's no Drago. He is no Drago.
I've never feared any man when I step into the ring. This is my life. I'm a lion. I'm not scared
of any man. And he's just a boy. Honestly, he's just a boy. He's stepping in there with a real
lion. So he should be scared, not me.
However, Twinov punished him by knocking him out in just two rounds.
Oh, no, no, no.
In one of the most bizarre weigh-in ceremonies, Nobumitsu Osawa decided to show up naked.
Meanwhile, his opponent, Johnny Case, didn't seem impressed with his disgusting antics.
Osawa continued to show both of them some respect.
But Case decided to show him who the real man was by scoring a vicious knockout in just 36 seconds.
In May 2021, WBA and WBC champion Canelo Alvarez and WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders met in a super
middleweight unification bout. Before the fight, Saunders made several derogatory remarks about
Canelo and claimed he was the better man.
The gypsies.
We want to see.
The gypsies.
Yeah.
The gypsies are here.
Yeah.
The gypsies.
The Mexican is ready.
The Mexican.
We know.
You had loads of beef.
Yeah.
You love the beef.
The Mexican.
You love the gypsies?
Yeah.
Beef.
You love that beef, yeah?
You love beef.
You love the beef.
Yeah.
You love the beef, yeah?
You love the beef.
You love it.
It's good.
You've not seen our body before.
You've not seen it.
Thank you.
We're in trouble now.
You say Canelo's the easiest fight, how confident are you of beating him then?
I am willing to put what I get for the fight on our beating, but there's one thing that
would never happen to me, I would never be beaten by any man before I enter the ring.
They beat me on the night I shaked around, they're a better man, but never in a million
years will I let someone get into my head and beat me before I step in the ring with
them, ever.
I'm sad because I believe in my own head, I believe in my own head that I will beat
him.
What will be surprising to him Saturday night that maybe he's not anticipating?
I'm going to stand toe to toe with him and let my arms go.
And before I let you go, Tyson Fury's turned up here in our periphery, you guys are obviously
close, he was able to dethrone Deontay Wilder, he dethroned Klitschko, you're here to dethrone
the number one pound for pound fighter, how much has his counsel...
We banged loads of prostitutes together.
Well good luck with the prostitutes on Sunday, I'm sure they'll be lined up if you get the
victory.
I've been boxing all my life, I've been boxing since I've been five years old, been dragged
up on the gypsy camps, we can all have the rough tough talk growing up as kids, but I'm
here for a reason, and there's no other reason for me to be here apart from win.
Not about fame, not about anything else, not about publicity, win.
And I don't think we've had somebody come to win for a very, very long time.
We've had a lot of people turn up, fly in, collect checks and fly out, but we haven't
had the heart and soul and the IQ that I'll bring to the table and to the ring on Saturday
night to win.
From the opening round, Canelo came out looking to make an early statement as he troubled
Saunders with his constant pressure.
Saunders, however, pretended he was okay and continued to taunt Canelo throughout the fight.
A real heavy body shot.
He wants to back the boxer up and just nail him to the body or head.
Look at the pressure.
Joe Saunders.
Landed on the chin.
Saunders shook it off.
Saunders in either round seven, eight, or nine.
It's Canelo.
68-66 Canelo.
He's only two rounds old.
Troops here at AT&T Stadium.
He breaks down the opponent.
He wants the power from Canelo.
But after taking too many punishments, he refused to come out to fight in round nine,
giving Canelo an easy victory.
Nice lift up.
So perhaps been restored if you're a...
Catch him with this one.
This one.
All right.
Go.
There's going to be a lot of people saying that.
I mean, he's getting booed here now for the job.
I mean, you don't know what it is and you have to be careful.
In May 2024, former kickboxing star Cedric D'Umbé took on Jaleel Willis in an MMA contest.
During the press conference, Willis mouthed off against D'Umbé and boastfully promised
to knock him out.
It's time.
Tomorrow night.
I'm putting you on your back.
Thirteen minutes, brother.
Thirteen minutes.
On your back.
You better hope.
You better hope a motherfucking knockout happens, bro.
Thirteen minutes.
On your back.
Guaranteed.
Stomp that ----.
He's the people's favorite fighter.
You know what I'm saying?
Bruh, this is delusional as ****.
This man believe that he can knock out Anthony Pettis.
Are you serious right now?
He's like, bruh, y'all can knock out Anthony Pettis.
the best thing I did all week, bruh.
Straight up.
Paris.
This is Paris.
This is for you.
Despite the disrespect from Willis, D'Umbé maintained his composure throughout the build-up.
T-shirt.
Angle more.
You're going to see Cedric.
However, once the two men met in the ring, D'Umbé became a vicious beast, unleashing
brutal punishment on Willis.
D'Umbé made it a short night by knocking the arrogant fighter out in round one.
You know, sparring is sparring when it comes to fighting a lot of different games.
So, you know, tomorrow night you're going to see a different Django.
In October 2020, Australian amateur star Justin Hooney made his professional boxing debut
against Faiga Django Opelu for the Australian heavyweight crown.
The defending champion Opelu dismissed his younger opponent and even refused to touch
gloves with him before the start of the fight.
Hooney ducks under a big one from Opelu.
However, Hooney did not take this too well and decided to teach Opelu a lesson.
Django comes forward, but Hooney it is responding.
Jabbing well is Opelu and going to the body and there's the right hand.
Goes to the body and they exchange there and then there's an uppercut from Hooney.
There was the uppercut.
He's in great shape to do the championship rounds.
Nice work.
And a left hook to follow as well.
To the body and upstairs.
Opelu leaves himself open.
A lot of shots Opelu.
Now he takes a few and he stands and mocks his opponent.
Big right hand from Justice Hooney.
Great work.
Despite absorbing multiple punishments, Opelu continued to show both why Hooney dominated
every second of the fight until Opelu was saved by his corner in round seven.
Oh, great work.
Great work.
Opelu taking a lot of shots here.
Hooney working hard and that's a big right hand.
Taking more than he bargained for.
And the towel comes in.
There's the towel.
And the journey has begun.
Hooney the heavyweight is on his way.
What a boxing performance we've seen from a man, remember, who was fighting the Australian heavyweight.
In this bizarre match-up, South Korean giant Hongman Choi and chubby Chinese fighter Auri
Gele met at ROAD FC 30.
During the pre-fight face-off, Chubby decided to mock Hongman, but this only infuriated
the towering giant.
Chubby came out throwing punches like Kung Fu Panda, but Hongman easily fended off the
attacks before delivering the knockout blow.
Oh, I was going to go up.
You can't go up.
The fence was in danger.
You were pretending to open the door and go out.
The fence was in danger.
In May 2021, Uzbekistani Islambek Pirmanov faced Ralf Agayev in his third professional
bout for the WBC-CISBB Super Bantamweight title.
The more experienced Agayev tried to intimidate his opponent before and during the fight.
Agayev clowned a round in the ring and dared Pirmanov to throw more punches.
He got exactly what he asked for in the fifth round as Pirmanov ended the show with a big knockout.
India MMA stars Jason Ramesh Solomon and Sweet Cat Sikhar met at the Matrix Fight Night 2.
Before the fight, Jason attempted to taunt his opponent, but Sikhar remained unfazed.
Obviously, the most charismatic fighter in Indian MMA, the most controversial fighter
in Indian MMA.
He is coming back after a really long time.
What I was told even today.
I think we're going to see a great fight here.
Neither man was interested in touching gloves.
But despite his flamboyant entrance, Jason was unable to hurt Sikhar, who ended the fight
in the first round with a submission win.
Oh, he slips, he slips.
He immediately goes to the leg, he's got him in a choke.
But Srikanth continues to go, he's tenacious in going after that single leg.
He's going to get this fight.
I think he has a Kimura.
Srikanth looks like he's got a Kimura.
Oh, and he's tapped.
Did he tap?
He must have tapped, he tapped.
Jason tapped.
Holy cow, he caught him in a Kimura.
I think he popped his shoulder or something.
Wow.
This guy is a pressure fighter.
If you think you know how to fight dirty, always remember that there is a dirtier fighter than you.
This fighter got what he deserved after he continued to hit his opponent on the break.
It'll be interesting to see what happens here.
Here we see the slow-mo, just those rabbit punches on the back of the head.
We see him come through with that right hook.
Elbow followed right through, it was a classic shot.
Very short.
In October 2017, Mike Shipman challenged Yannick Behati for the British Association MMA Middleweight Championship.
The arrogant champion refused to touch gloves with Shipman before the bout.
Real roll.
UTC really rate Behati.
He's one of the best guys on earth at 185.
Shipman though, this is a big test.
During the fight, Behati continued his disrespectful behavior by flashing the middle finger at Shipman.
But unfortunately for the champion, being arrogant does not prevent punishment.
Shipman delivered a stunning knockout to end the fight in round 3.
Shipman knocks out Yannick, the Black Mamba behind, steals the belt.
MMA rivals Michael Page and Richard Kelly met in a grudge match at Bellator 227.
Leading up to their fight, the bad blood between the two was evident as both men did not pay attention to each other.
I'm going to knock him out, and then it's not beyond the realms of possibility.
I did it in Bama after two fights that went for a world title.
So when I knock out Vagina Page over there, I'm going to be going for a world title.
I bring knockouts. I knock legitimate one-shot knockout power.
You've already seen what happens when he gets hit on the chin.
He goes out. He got hit with an arm punch by a static slow Lima.
So when I land on him, he's going out cold.
He's really, really surprised when he wakes up and he's going to go,
I'm standing on top of the cage, proclaiming myself as the face of Bellator, and he's going into retirement.
If not, go to your corner. Go back. Let's go.
During the fight, Kelly flashed the middle finger at his opponent, but this only earned him more punishment from Michael.
After unleashing a serious beating on Kelly, Michael decided to end the fight with a beautiful first-round knockout.
In May 2021, former WBA heavyweight champion Mal Shar faced an unbeaten Christopher Lovejoy.
During the face-off, Shar offered a friendly handshake, but Lovejoy ignored him.
Lovejoy continued to mouth off against Shar and even shoved him before the two were separated.
Thank you, guys. Thank you, guys. Thank you. Thank you.
Don't be nervous. Everything is OK. That's sport, my guy. That's OK.
If I can't knock him out in the first round, I think he's going to run and just get through the round.
He's going to count on me getting tired.
So I say he's going to just really play and dance around for six or seven rounds.
He's going to lose those rounds because he's going to be running, hoping I get tired.
Before he looks up, he's going to be behind those scorecards, the realistic scorecards.
And then he has to fight. As soon as he decides he has to fight, the fight is over.
As soon as he's in a striking range, it's over.
I got so much power. If I connect, he's going down.
And, you know, so I guess you could put that way. Is he going to run? Is he a runner?
Or is he a fighter? If he's a fighter, he's going down.
If he's going to run, we're just going to go some rounds.
It's up to him if he wants to stay and play and run around in the last round or he wants to test his chin out.
Because I'm going to test the chin out. That's what we're going to do.
County jail fight, you know, bar brawl, right in there, right there.
So either you're going to do it, we're going to see who's got the best chin right there, or you're going to run.
Because I'm not backing up and running and we're not going to have a 10-round draft jab contest.
I'm going to make you fight.
However, the same handshake that Lovejoy refused became a vicious tool that Schar used to punish him brutally.
He pulled off very briefly.
He got through the inside two or three times.
Well done. Body hit now.
And there's the threat, Lovejoy.
Pretty Boy is on the ground.
Langos sees him. He comes up again.
He gets the 139 kilos lifted up again.
And the fight is over.
It didn't quite work out with the wheel.
It was a disappointing performance from Christopher Lovejoy.
He hasn't offered anything yet.
He already showed his upper arm in the first round.
Then he came in here.
Caught a few punches.
He wasn't all that tough, but he was good.
In April 2017, Melvin Manhoff challenged Rafael Carvalho for the Bellator Middleweight World Championship.
Before the fight, Manhoff decided to show off his dancing skills instead of saving his energy for the actual fight.
This turned out to be a bad decision for Manhoff as he was brutally knocked out with a precise kick from Carvalho in round 4.
He was landing into the ribs over and over and over again.
What does a great fighter do?
Change it up, make it a head kick.
Joseph Parker faced Martin Bacoli, who was brought in as a late replacement for Daniel Dubois.
Despite taking the fight on short notice, Bacoli appeared to be performing well against the former WBO champion and began showboating.
That's really smart because he keeps the big man on the back foot.
Down, but he didn't move.
No, he just shook that off.
Now you know why this man's a boogeyman from the Congo.
He just got hit by a big overhand right by Parker.
However, this did not end well for him as he was knocked out in just the second round by Parker.
That was a temple shot by Joseph Parker.
We have seen that time and again when guys get hit up there on the temple.
And that's it, they'll wave it off. Joseph Parker just beat the boogeyman.
The first one rocked him, the second one put him to sleep almost.
Glory welterweight champion Cedric Dumbe defended his title against Ali Nabiyev at Glory 66.
Touch gloves if you like. Push back.
Nabiyev mistook Dumbe for a weaker opponent and decided to showboat.
However, Dumbe did not hold back as he immediately landed combinations on Nabiyev.
The dirty fighter decided not to play by the rules and started hitting Dumbe behind the head.
Unfortunately for him, this only infuriated Dumbe who unleashed brutal punishments before sending him down.
Nabiyev was able to get back up, but Dumbe resumed the attack and knocked him out for good.
In January 2025, English MMA fighter Darren Till took on his American counterpart Anthony Taylor under professional boxing rules.
During the build-up to the fight, Taylor insulted Till and his entire team and promised to make short work of him.
Uh, yeah, hey, what's up, y'all? Hey, hey, I'm off this f***ing prime.
So, yeah, I'm about to whoop his motherf***ing ass when it comes this Saturday.
The gorilla is going to be put in a cage and sold back to f***ing Liverpool.
Listen, listen, I can beat Darren Till in one night.
You're gonna beat my Aegis Burger, bro.
Your dad can't save you.
Your dad wouldn't be able to save you.
You talk for no reason.
I'll do it, I'll do it, I'll do it.
How you 6'11 with a record of 3-2? It don't make sense.
Hey, look at me, baby. I look good. I look good.
Listen, look at it. Look, look, look. I look smooth, baby.
I taste like candy, candy.
What the f*** have I signed before with this s***?
I'm about to make easy work of you.
Easy, baby. Easy, squeezy, lemon f***ing peasy.
Yeah, I'm about to get them veneers redone for you, boy.
Y'all already know what it is. You can't spell goat without A-T, baby.
Yeah, your whole team's s***, too. Your whole team's s***, too, at the same time.
Your whole team's s***. Your boy Liam Smith get beat up, too, if he a free agent.
He come to Memphis, he get this work, too.
Hey, hey, hey, hey. I want you and I want Chris Eubanks Jr.
What's up? Hey, look, I said, this is Misfits Pro, baby.
After I beat Dare Till, I got to fight Miyagi somehow. Let's do it.
He always says, I'm going to fight this guy.
And you know, he's here to make an event against Dare Till.
Came up short against Eastern's Virgo.
Dropping his opponent, adding the pressure. He doesn't get hit clean.
And then he hits back.
Anthony, the pretty boy, Taylor.
At heavyweight.
Closing down. I mean, I think he deserved this opportunity.
He showed why he should be.
However, Taylor's arrogance soon turned into fear, as Till battered him around the ring the entire time.
He's staying in the pocket a little bit. I don't think he's a threat from AT-Rex.
Show some ground.
Oh, big shots there.
Becking him on. 90 seconds to go.
Anthony Taylor eating some shots here.
Dare Till right now.
I think he's just getting out boxed, but I'm just saying it could be part of the plan.
You definitely don't want AT.
In round four, Till cracked a huge uppercut that put Taylor down.
More experience in the clinch. Stronger in the clinch.
The gorilla with a big connection in round number four.
Picked a punch.
We said we've never seen him hurt before. We've seen him hurt now.
Huge uppercut, sits down.
Makes the count, though, with 90 seconds to go.
It looks like Till is about to dare until finding a striking clinic here in the main event.
Like a lamb to slaughter.
He's got to be finished.
AT eating uppercut after uppercut.
Taylor managed to make it out of the round, but was floored again in round six.
I think an uppercut caught AT on the inside.
Another standing in count for Gorilla.
Moments later, Till ended the show with an emphatic knockout.
Manchester and Liverpool's own excels in his disowned boxing debut.
The uppercut, the timing, the combinations.
It was all too much. Dominant performance from start to finish from Darren Till.
You know when we're talking about even a few shots being landed against you,
that you're obviously dominating. Brilliant win for Darren Till.
Wow, I want to see this guy again. That was a phenomenal boxing debut.
Which of these fighters do you think got the best punishment?
