Over here we've got topsoil that we're putting on top of these rows.
Remember, a garden is a reflection of its gardener's creativity and passion.
Top of these rows.
Last year we put compost, if you look behind you, there's compost right there.
And what we're doing is putting this cardboard down first.
That's going to suppress any weeds or grass.
Where can you get cardboard out like that?
Top secret.
Do you want to tell anybody where our secrets are?
No.
This topsoil is going to be, we're going to plant on top of this here in about two weeks.
So we're just putting this topsoil on top of the cardboard.
If you don't put the cardboard down and you have grass or weeds, the weeds will come up through the soil.
If you have manure, sometimes if it's horse manure or cow manure, chicken manure gets pretty hot where it will burn up the seeds.
But a lot of times horse manure and cow manure, those seeds won't all get digested and you'll have a bunch of different weeds coming out of your manure.
But this topsoil has been graded. There shouldn't be many seeds in it.
What did we do yesterday, Reagan?
We put this whole row.
What are we going to grow here, Kel?
Peppers and tomatillos.
Right?
Yeah.
What is this soil for?
For the rows?
Yeah.
