8 Fall Trends Out Of Style In 2025 & What To Wear Instead!

Hey there! This out of style video is going to be all about real life items that you and I would wear that are not on trend for fall 2025. I will concentrate mostly on the items that I think can replace these styles so you'll be more on trend and more stylish for this season. And if you love the out of style version, that is okay. You definitely should style you and wear what you love. I know I will be doing that. So I appreciate you watching. I hope you enjoy it and remember to love your neighbor and be kind. The first trend that I want to talk about that's out of style is kind of an obvious one and I'm calling this brown is the new black. So black is going to take a back seat this season and brown is going to be front and center. And I want to talk about some styles that are pretty common that you might be wearing in black that you will probably want to get in brown. And the first one is a pair of jeans. So I'm showing you these wide leg jeans which are still a big trend and these are in such a beautiful chocolate brown. These are from Anthropologie and I just thought they looked so good. And you're also going to want to maybe add a blazer in brown, maybe get a brown suit because there's some beautiful options. And I just found this one by Gibson Look that is from Nordstrom and it's a knit blazer that is the new kind of fitted classic style that you would have in your closet forever. There's also a lot of cocktail dresses that are really nice that are in chocolate brown and they're beautiful. And I found this one in Anthropologie and thought it was gorgeous. So if you're looking around for a little black dress you want to consider a little brown dress. And I also have one from Walmart that I wanted to show you because I just put this in a clothing haul that I did and so many people loved it. And it's this gorgeous just really deep chocolate brown. And this is a dress that you can wear pretty casually which I thought was fun. And also lots of shoes and I've seen a ton of boots whether they're knee-high or ankle boots like this one that has a really beautiful suede material to it. So we're going to see a lot of suede and I think chocolate brown and suede is gorgeous. And also really popular shoes this season are going to be your brown sneakers. And I have loved some of these. This is by Dolce Vita and it's a corduroy in chocolate and I thought that was fun. It was a brand new drop but you're also going to see a lot of suede brown sneakers that are fantastic. So keep your eye out. There's going to be a lot of brown. It's going to be the main color and I think we should embrace it because this is not the case for every season. This out-of-style trend is a shoe trend and I really wanted to talk about round toe boots being out of style because you cannot find as many of them and they do look a little bit dated to me. So I found a little ankle boot that had a round toe and you can see that it does look a little dated here. And I also found a riding boot that has that round toe and I think these are going to be trending a little bit but I think the most popular are going to be the options that are a little more squared off. And so I want to show you this ankle boot because I have this. I think it's a great ankle boot and you can see that the toe of this is squared off but it's a thinner square off. It kind of comes pointed a little bit and then squares off. So it has a really interesting look and it gives you a lot more room in the toes because it is elongated out and I think these are great options for a lot of the flares and wide legs that we are going to be wearing. And also knee-high boots. I've seen a lot of squared off toed knee-high boots and this one is actually a little bit rounded and instead of a chunky square and it actually looks really nice and also gives you room for the toes. And this dressed up version I thought was really pretty. This is by Dolce Vita. Again it comes almost to a point and then squares off and a lot of your cowboy style western boots are going to have this as well. And I found some at Walmart that I wanted to share because I have these and these are their faux suede square toed little stretch booties and these are so comfortable and look really good. I think you guys would love them if you want an affordable option. They also have the same thing in a knee-high version and they're wonderful. They're comfortable and they look really expensive. I also wanted to show you this harness boot because harness boots are part of that western trend and this has a very chunky square toe and if that is your thing definitely grab this one because it's pink. I thought this was so pretty and I don't know how I feel about these chunky boots but I know a lot of people love them. They're cute with flowy dresses. They're cute with jeans and sweaters. So if you want to consider that western trend this might be a good thing to do other than your cowboy boots but definitely check out the square toes especially if you don't want to wear the pointed ones and maybe just put your round toes in the back of your closet and bring them out later on. Now I want to talk about a handbag that is out of style and it's a style of handbag so it's a structured bag and I had trouble finding a structured bag for this video and I found one on Nordstrom that's a JW pie so you can see kind of what I'm talking about. It has a lot of structure to it and you will see the new trend because it's very different and I'm loving it and it's the slouchy bags and a lot of these hobo style bags like this Madewell one are what you're going to see and they're just so soft and beautiful and in lots of suedes and leathers and really nice finishes and this one I thought was really cool. It was a brand new drop on Nordstrom's website and I love the color and I really liked that it had the contrast black handle on it so it gave it a little bit more interest and I think this one did come in another color. I also think this quince suede bag which I have this one on the way and I have another color in it and this is their hobo style really slouchy suede bag. It's real Italian suede and it's 130 bucks so very affordable and I think this is going to be the bag of the season so if you want this one definitely grab it. They do have some leather options as well so I will link all of those for you if you want to check them out. There's also one from Target that is really good that I am loving that is a faux leather. It's $35 and it's really good because I have the ivory one. I just bought a burgundy suede because I wanted a burgundy suede one so this is going to be my bag of the season and I'm going to switch them up with my outfits but I wanted to show you this because I thought it was a fantastic option at a really good price. There's also some styles that I've seen that are a little more square and I thought this Melle Bianca from Anthropologie was really cool and it's a faux leather. It's kind of crackled and shiny and I just thought it was really pretty in this red because we're going to see red accessories as well and then I found this version at Walmart which is on pre-order right now so grab it. It's by Scoop and it has kind of that square shape as well and you can see how it slouches in the center and I just thought it had a very interesting look to it so if you want to try something new this would be a new kind of venture for me and I tried and I love it. I love carrying them, they're fun, they're comfortable and you can fit a lot of things in them so try this trend and just look really stylish for this fall season. There is one trend that I'm really glad is out of style and that is your oversized long tops. I wanted to show you this oversized button-up shirt because this is really what we've been seeing a lot with those Y2K trends and this is not a good look to me in my opinion and it's not what's going on this season. So what is going on are your shorter tops, even the button-up shirts. So this one from Loft that has the utility pockets is the perfect example because it's short. You don't have to worry about tucking it in. She still has shaped her body even though it is a little bit boxy so I love these and I think they look good on a lot of people. It's that great no-tuck top and also these button-up shirts that have the cinched waist so or the cinched hem at the bottom so it just makes them super easy to wear and I had one from Loft last year that or in the spring that was short sleeve and this one is by theory and it's long sleeve and I'm hoping we'll see more of these this season because they're just easy and also your frilly blouses with all the ruffles and ties and things like that they're getting shorter. So this one was cropped and has the ruffle at the helm and I just thought it was a great example of something that's so pretty that is a little bit sheer so it still gives her body some nice shape and also crop tops that are a little bit shorter that kind of meet the high rise waistband I'm loving and I love it when they have a puff sleeve. So this blue one from Loft I thought was so pretty and a great transitional top to have but you're also going to see some boxy sweaters which these are fun. I have this one that has this is a green with the dog on it which is so cute they have a dog collection going on a dog print collection going on at Anthropologie right now and this sweater is adorable but I got it in pink it's in my last haul if you want to see my Anthropologie haul I will link it here for you but this is a great little sweater because it is cropped but it's a little boxy and flowy and just so cute and you're also going to see a lot of funnel neck sweaters so that's a big trend but I love that they are actually a little shorter now as well so this sweater is a brand new one from Anthropologie and I love it with this kind of dark floral and I just thought the style was a perfect example of something that's not really cropped but it is shorter because we were so used to wearing skinny jeans and longer tops now we're wearing wider bottoms and shorter tops even if the tops are a little bit looser so that is what's going on and that is what I think looks really good on most body shapes so this trend is probably something that has not been on your radar but I wanted to talk about it because I noticed it and one thing that is out of style right now that was a big 80s trend are your parachute pants or your mc hammer pants and if y'all remember those please let me know in the comments I totally remember them and this one from Anthropologie that I wanted to show you is what we're seeing and I actually thought this one was pretty cute with the ties on the side but not all of them are this cute and you're just not seeing a lot of them anymore what we are seeing are track pants and I don't know if you know this but track pants are getting really popular and not only in like your athleisure but these are a trouser pant for a nicer outfit that you might even put in a suit outfit so I wanted to show you that because you're going to see a lot of these this season there's also the athletic style pull-ons you're going to see a lot of the sweat pant styles and things like that like this one that are just so cute if you want to throw that on other than your leggings I think it's a great look and also some knit sets I loved this one that had the top and pants that matched and they are calling these a knit track pants so I just thought that was such a fun and interesting look and that is a look from Anthropologie and also jeans I found these wave jeans from Nordstrom that I thought were so interesting and they're kind of a burgundy brown color which is very on trend so this was very interesting to me which is why I wanted to mention it now that I mentioned it you're probably going to see them everywhere but I definitely want to get this kind of track pant look because I really like it I think it's fun and you can mix and match it and just do a lot with it so this one you're probably going to get a little mad at me for talking about but I want to talk about these cardigans because open cardigans are out of style so just the kind of loose flowy cardigans that you throw over all your t-shirts and things like that are not the trend right now hang on to them bring them out later but what is the trend are your button-up cardigans like this horse cardigan that's so cute and it's worn as a top so this is not something we ever used to do and if we buttoned up a cardigan and always had the shell underneath which you can do that as well but I love the look of cardigan tops and this one I thought was very much of the season with this kind of western look to it and this is from anthropology and I also found this top from loft that was a mixed media so it has kind of the shirt tie along with the button-up little puff sleeve cardigan so that's a really fun look and you're going to see a lot of just different style options with cardigans that look like that and there was also another cashmere cardigan that I wanted to show you that's a button-up cardigan and I loved this outfit that she has on which is why I wanted to show you this because it's great and you don't have to think too much about it just throw on the cardigan because you love it button it up and put it with a skirt and some boots and go and also these button-up cardigans that look like the collegiate cardigans with the stripes and they're this is a little longer too but it's not super oversized it's just relaxed and it has the beautiful cable knit and this one is from old navy and I have it I put it in my last old navy haul and it's fantastic and I love that it's buttoned up and she put it with a denim skirt so a lot of times those cardigans can be used in this way and you can dress them up a little bit more when they are buttoned up and closed off so I just I love this cardigan trend because I've never been a big fan of the open cardigan I think it can be a little sloppy if it's not done right but this way they look good they look like a structured top that you put on and just has some interest to it so definitely try it with your cardigans and see if you like it. The most talked about trend that I have ever seen that is out of style is skinny jeans and this has been back and forth they're in they're out they're in they're out and they're still out ladies they're gonna come back but they're not quite there yet and I wanted to show you this frame jean because this is a current style that they have you're just not gonna find a lot of them so if you want to wear a skinny jean this year just make it a really dark wash and then wear it with some knee-high boots or some western boots but the styles that are really big this season that I'm loving are your boot cuts and your flares and I want to show you the boot cuts first and then I'll show you the flares but the first one is this Levi's wedgie boot cut jean and it's nice and relaxed and the boot cuts have been in style for a while and the new thing now is to wear them more relaxed and you can see that it's not super fitted on the thigh and there's not a major boot out it can almost pass as a straight leg but it goes over the boots really well and when it goes over boots you can really tell that it's a boot cut there was also a frame jean that I saw in this kind of washed black so a lot of the denim is not going to be dark black this season you're going to see a lot of these kind of grayed out washes which I think are really cool and so I thought this was a nice one to look at and it is more of a relaxed boot cut as opposed to that fitted thigh boot cut and then Madewell has one that I wanted to show you which is a very popular style it's top rated and it's in a great medium wash that you could wear with lots of different things and I love the look of this and it's very very relaxed so now for the flare jeans and I wanted to show you this Wrangler 70s flare because Wrangler jeans are coming back and this one is an anthropology and I think it's awesome and it is that very exaggerated flare but it looks a little bit more relaxed and fun to wear so I love these styles and then there's a mother jean which mother jeans are my favorite and this has kind of a button tab across the top so it looks a little different and this is almost like a wide leg flare which has been a big trend and I'm loving the styles that they're making this season so we're going to look for those loose flares too and then these frame jeans which this is my new favorite brand because I got a couple at the Nordstrom sale and the brand is amazing and I love these because they have the frayed helms so we're going to see some of the frayed helms and some slits in the knees it's not going to be super distressed yet again so that's nice I like a little bit of distressing and I thought this one was a great relaxed style that you could wear with loads of different things so if you're into the relaxed styles you don't want to do a wide leg maybe try the boot cut and the flares. I always have to include a sneaker trend in my videos and the one sneaker trend that is out of style this season are your chunky sneakers and I'm talking the ones that have the really chunky bottoms that come out from the top of the shoe and it just makes them look really clunky and they're sort of dad sneakers and this is one from Nordstrom that I found that is still available and I liked the colors of this but it's going to be very chunky on the foot so what is on trend is the exact opposite of this and that's your slim sneakers and I wanted to show you this one which is a Dolce Vita it's the Serena sneaker I have this one from last year and they added several colors and they added this burgundy and it is suede and it's a beautiful sneaker that looks good with a lot of things and a lot of people have said that those slim soles like this one has are not comfy but they really are comfortable you probably don't want to walk a mile in them but they're great for everyday wear it's they're actually more comfortable than maybe an ankle boot or something like that so I absolutely love these and they're very retro and very on trend there's also a puma style that is called the speed cat you're going to see a lot of these and in some really beautiful colors and they have very thin sole but still have that retro look because the retro sneaker is where it's at and all of these retro sneakers have those kind of slimmer soles and I thought this green one was really pretty I'm seeing a lot of green sneakers right now and also a Dolce Vita in a leopard print which leopard print is really big cow print is really big and we're going to see it on all shoe styles but this sneaker I thought was interesting because it has the two different style laces and different color laces on it and there's lots of other colors in this one I just thought the leopard print was the most interesting I think there's six colors but there is a look alike to this sneaker that's at Walmart and I actually am getting it today because I finally came back in stock and I love the look of these I think they are very interesting very retro but are still part of that very slim sneaker trend you're also going to see that slim sneaker trend in your kind of trainer styles that are a little chunkier or that you would think would be like this is a new balance that's a 471 sneaker and you can see it's a little more streamlined and that sole is a little bit thinner and it doesn't come out from the body of the shoe so look for these styles they're not going to be hard to find because they are kind of everywhere and a lot of them are in really fun colors so I think they're a better option and look better on the feet they even make your foot look smaller if you have larger feet so definitely give these a try so those are all of my out of style trends for today and what you should wear instead and I hope you enjoyed them and thought the same thing I did and really love the new options and I will include a video here that will show you some of the new season trends I've already done if you want to see what else is in style for the fall season so thanks so much for watching and I'll talk to you next time
