Bonjour! We are painting the last couple of shutters and the bedroom we are currently creating upstairs! I hope you like the colors as much as we do! Sending love! Marloes

Bonjour. I hope you are all doing well.
It is end of August and to me like
mentally I always feel like it is the
end of summer and I secretly start
longing for evenings by the fire. I
don't know. It's like the heat at some
point is just enough and I want to
cuddle up and get cozy and enjoy slow
fall and winter evenings. But I'm going
to the store to pick up the paint that
we need for our bedroom. I am really
excited to be sharing that with you in
this video. I honestly feel like
building and renovating this house is an
endless painting job. We have done so
much of it, but it is also the most
exciting part of renovating. My youngest
finished painting all the metal shutters
around the house. We still need to do
the woodwork, but we will have to wait
until the heat breaks because it is
really way too warm for that. And then
we can have full focus on finishing our
bedroom. I am so excited for this. But
before I share all of that with you, I
want to share with you the new shoes
that I got from Viva, who are also the
sponsor of today's video. Viva is a shoe
brand making highquality, comfortable,
and stylish footwear crafted from
recycled plastic bottles. I recently had
to get orthopedic insoles because of the
issues I have with my feet and that
actually makes it even more challenging
now to find nice elegantl looking shoes
that fit me well. All Vaia shoes are
incredibly comfortable and they all come
with soles and insoles that provide
really good support. But I love that I
could actually take the soles out of
these sneakers and put in the ones that
my doctor gave me. These sneakers have
now become my all day, everyday shoes
that I wear for shopping, walks, and
running errands. And what's nice about
them is that once you've tied the
shoelaces, there is a top part that is
stretchy, so you can easily slip out of
them and slip them back on without
having to tie your laces again. I also
got these really cute ballerinas. And
these are super soft and foldable. And I
really like the double lace feature on
this one. It instantly makes a simple
outfit with jeans and a top more
colorful and more festive. And these
last ones I am super happy with because
as soon as fall starts, we often welcome
the guests of our cabin later at night
when I'm already all cuddled up on the
couch. The grass around the cabin
usually gets pretty wet. And these are
water repellent and I can slip in them
without using my hands, which is so
practical. Plus, you can add matching
leg warmers to them, which makes them
look a little more like a boot. If you
are interested in trying Viva shoes, you
can now use code marloose 12 to get 12%
off in the first 3 days after this video
has gone live and 10% after those first
3 days. Now, you can find a link to
their website and all the styles that I
got in the description box.
Now, we were super excited to start
painting the bedroom. I had so many
other things to do that Olaf had to do
it alone this time. But when we opened
the can of paint, the color wasn't
right. I always use either far and ball
or rour. For this project, I had a fair
ball color mixed on a really good
quality Dutch paint that I like to use.
But as you can see here, the first can
we opened was not at all the right
color. Fortunately, the second one was,
so we could definitely start this
project. And thank you to my aunt and
uncle who brought the cans from us from
the Netherlands when they came to visit.
And here is the color. You can't really
see it yet because we need to paint the
walls of course, but we really like this
soft beige color and it has a nice green
undertone to it.
Yeah, I could.
And then Olaf accidentally started
painting the wardrobe with the same
color as well. And I said, "No, no, no.
I have chosen a different color for
this. I want it to have a light blue
gray
silvery maybe with a little hint of
green. I had this color in my head and I
couldn't really find it. I have Faramal
and Rousour is the two brands that I
work with and I ended up picking one
from Rousour only to find out that with
the sample that I made with the Fer and
Ball one, it was actually very similar
if not completely similar. So, we
decided to go with the far rumble light
blue that I originally picked, but Olaf
was saying, "Oh, no. It's so baby blue.
It's so blue." But I said, "Wait, we've
got this huge light here now for the
painting, but you need to always look
with the natural light and the actual
light that you have in your space
because depending on how you hold a
sample and where in the space you hold
it, the color can be completely
different. So, I decided when he was
gone to turn off his lights and just use
either the natural light coming from the
window or the light that we'll have from
the from the light fixtures. And then it
was actually the exact color that I had
in mind. So, I am sticking with this
one. I'm going back to the Netherlands
for family reasons. And that will be my
opportunity to get this same really good
quality paint in the Netherlands, but
then mixed on this feron ball color. So
we can finish that project in another
video.
Come on.
I cannot wait to see what this window
will look like once it is finished. I am
still so happy that we stumbled upon
this. We were going to custom build
something, but this is so much more
charming, I feel. So, I can't wait to
see what this will look like once Olaf
has finished painting it.

on the side.
While Olaf is doing all the painting, I
am continuing to cook recipes for my new
cookbook and photograph them. And today,
I'm getting help from my youngest son.
So, we are going to enjoy this meal
together and then I can show you the
painted window at the end of this video.

Voila.
There's more yet.
That noise.
Ola finished painting until late at
night and the next day when it was
daylight we could admire how beautiful
it had turned out. I absolutely love
this color. Let me know what you think
in a comment. Thank you so much for
watching and I will see you again next
week.
