Fans of romance, this one's for you.
Now we know that Madeline Klein from her Netflix hit series Out of Banks
and of course the horror sequel I Know What You Did Last Summer
which came out a little bit earlier on this year.
And KJ Apa we know from the long running teen show Riverdale
which he was amazing in.
Well now those two young stars are joining forces
for a brand new movie about two strangers on a Europe trip
whose paths cross unexpectedly and let's say sparks fly
and lives are changed.
Entertainment reporter Anna Corday got to catch up with both the leads
for The Map That Leads to Europe.
Tell me about the boy that was following us out of the train station.
I'm Jack. And you are?
Heather.
Nice to meet you Heather.
Hi Madeline and KJ.
First off, thank you so much for making me cry.
Oh good.
Yes.
We're great.
We did good.
We love Australia.
Yes Madeline, you were here making I Know What You Did Last Summer.
So here's the problem, I like Melbourne better than Sydney.
Hot debate.
I'm sorry, I know, I know, I know, I know.
However.
That's a crazy call.
Um, we have the beach.
See, I'm not a beach person.
Not a beach person.
I'm not.
I don't, I don't surf.
I don't really like water.
Yeah.
She doesn't drink water.
She doesn't know how to swim.
I don't, I don't.
Okay, let's talk about The Map That Leads to You.
It is such a beautiful film.
Tell me what it means to both of you.
What it means to me is that I got to meet Madeline.
Yes.
I got to work with her very closely, very intimately.
So you've just been travelling.
My great-grandfather kept a journal.
I'm trying to go to every place that he wrote about.
You just see what happens.
It kind of stresses me out.
Really?
Mm-hmm.
Why?
I just like to know what's next.
While filming across Europe does sound absolutely delightful,
I do understand it was a pretty gruelling shoot.
And KJ, you did that post saying you wouldn't have gotten through it
without the constant hilarity of Madeline on set.
Can you tell me a little bit about making the movie?
Chaotic.
A bit silly.
And...
No sleep.
No sleep is the perfect way to button that up.
And with this one, there is absolutely no dull moment
because you never know what's going to happen.
She's quite spontaneous.
Mm-hmm.
She's a little bit offbeat, which is sometimes good.
It's a refreshing vibe to have on set.
Per chance.
You never know what you're going to get
when you're in a scene with Madeline.
Off-putting?
Not off-putting for me.
Oh.
So, Madeline, I get the sense you probably don't really relate
to Heather because she's so type A.
And you sound very spontaneous.
I am.
Oh, I'm super... Yes, I'm very type B.
There is no Heather here.
Have either of you ever done anything just wildly spontaneous?
I'm pretty spontaneous.
I get tattoos randomly, and then I go and remove them.
And then I get more.
Have you gotten tattoos removed?
And then I change my mind again, and then I go back and get removed again.
Where have you gotten tattoos removed?
Everywhere.
I've had sessions all over.
Really?
Yeah.
Did you have this one?
Yes.
Ah, OK.
I was wondering why the ankle's a little...
I'm spontaneous.
You are.
He's very spontaneous.
Type B.
He's very type B.
I'm very type...
Type B.
B.
I know you think it's crazy,
but what would happen if you didn't catch your flight home today?
I don't want to just never see each other.
He gave you a feeling to strive for.
That's a big, big gift.
Madeline, it sounds like you had a pretty insane year last year
to go from filming Outer Banks to Europe for this,
straight to Australia for I Know What You Did last summer.
Are you OK?
Are you sleeping?
That's a lot of jet lag.
No, no, no, no.
She's pulling through, though.
I'm pulling through.
You know what?
It is lots of coffee,
sleeping whenever I can.
I understand that.
I heard you mention coffee.
I've got mine here.
I'm going to go drink this.
Thank you both so much for your time,
and thank you for the tears.
Thank you.
If you take the wrong path,
you can miss it
and regret it all your life.
OK, we might need to speak to Anna Cordae about that interview
because we have just decided,
I mean, the map that Lisa used on Prime Video today, check it out,
but we have just decided watching that
that there was so much chemistry from those two.
That was off the charts.
Off the Richter scale.
I'm not saying their method acting and what was happening was real,
but that felt pretty real.
It's just a shame they're both so terrible looking.
I know, right?
My goodness.
