rock hopper here and I'm in the yukon's
tombstone territorial Park and we're
going to hike up the grizzly Lake Trail
today to the highest point where there's
apparently a magnificent View and I'm
going to tell you how the park got the
name
[Music]
Tombstone we'll be going right up to
about there which is about halfway
between Grizzly Lake and the trail head
and the highest point between those two
it's about 13 km to get to Grizzly Lake
it's so 26 km round trip and you can do
it in a day however if you want to stay
overnight you do need a back country
permit the trail starts out over roty
soil through the woods and it'll
gradually gain
elevation quite a bit I've heard passing
the colorful fir weed
that's set in autumn colors the
blueberry bushes are turning colors and
the rain is never far away here in the
fall this is spagna moss and it holds
quite a bit of moisture you could even
grab some of it and get enough for a
drink if you needed
one Autumn is a beautiful time of year
to see the changing color along the
trail even some of the Mosses are
turning
red
we come to a little foot
bridge and some
steps
what's up
bud
oh
[Applause]
after about a mile and a half the views
start to open
up still some patches of snow up here
they'll be here all
year it's Autumn and they're still here
it was fairly steep for a while but now
it's going to get quite
[Music]
steep
[Music]
this is the highest point on the grizzly
Lake Trail it's about 4 km to get to
here but I think it's worth the reward
the mountains in the distance are the
reason this is called Tombstone park
because the mountains resemble Tombstone
standing
upright
if you happen to be at the visitor
center you might just find some fresh
banic made by Miriam
here and that's what it looks
like and I'm going to have a piece of
that and you can put fresh wild
blueberry jam it was just made 2 days
ago on the bandic I hope you enjoyed
hiking up to the high point on the
grizzly Lake Trail in the yukon's
tombstone territorial Park don't forget
to give me a like on the video share and
subscribe until next time this is
Rockhopper I'll see
you
