Hey, my name is Paulo and I play bass for Sleep Theory.
We're on tour right now, Afterglow Tour.
And this is all my gear right now, as you can see.
What I'm holding right now is my main one for Wooddrop H-Sharp.
It's an Ernie Ball, Silver Burst, Four String, you know, single humbucker music man.
I got this last January of this year and it's been awesome, you know.
I've been repping the Sterlings for quite a while, since we started the band.
But right now, I actually got an Ernie Ball endorsement and they gave me some good stuff.
And this is it.
It has a black pickguard and some black, you know, tone knobs and volume knob and mostly everything.
It's kind of messed up now because I've been beating the ---- out of it.
There's already like battle scars on the side, but, you know, it's good.
I need to get more basses.
The strings, I'm using Beefy Slinkys 61-30-65.
They're all great.
Also, when we were recording the album, we used the same gauges, you know, Beefy Slinkys.
I always want to put my volume all the way up.
I had this bootleg parallax because Neuro has not released the parallax yet, so we made our own bootleg parallax.
I put all my treble all the way down, put my bass in the middle, and then my mids all the way up.
And, you know, there's like different pedal effects that I use.
It's on my quad right there.
So, yeah, this is for drop A sharp.
I play with Fall Out, like, you know, Gone or Staying, and some of the most famous Sleep Theater songs.
Paralyzed and you name it.
So this one, it's a P bass.
It's kind of messed up right now.
I'll be clean in a minute.
It is a Pete Wentz Sterling model.
Pete Wentz, if you don't know, it's from Fall Out Boy.
It's a bass player from Fall Out Boy.
It has a volume knob and a tone knob.
Really nice bass.
I really love playing with these.
This is set up on drop D.
I only play this for one song.
It's called Parasite.
You guys probably know it.
And, yeah, it has a, really, a bronze pickguard, which is very beautiful.
There's a lot of battle scars.
I took this to the airport one time.
They messed it up.
I don't really care anymore.
Rockstar life sometimes.
They mess with your guitar.
You just got to accept it.
Yes, this is just a regular Slinky or drop D.
But you know what's the best part?
Look at that octave.
The duck.
That's what I'm paying for.
This guitar is the duck.
Yeah.
Also, all my straps are all Ernie Ball because they're very comfortable with the cloud padding.
With the strap locks, it's Schaffer or something.
We just bought them and they look very tight.
They never let us down.
And this one.
One of my favorites.
My first bass.
Our producer, Dave, gave me.
Cool fact.
We recorded Stuck in My Head on this bass.
And Stuck in My Head went number one on Billboard and on radio.
So this means a lot to me.
It's a five-string subseries Sterling.
Some people will say it's just a regular five-string bass.
But this bass is a powerhouse for me.
I played all the drop G, drop G sharp songs we have.
Including Threes, Stuck in My Head, Gravity, you name it.
Yeah.
It has thicker strings.
And for this one, I used the Power Stingies.
It's a 135-250.
It's great.
The thicker the strings, the heavier it gets, of course.
And yeah, it means a lot.
If there's one thing that I want framed in my house, it should be this guitar.
This means a lot.
This is sneak theory for me.
Come on in.
This is the best part of the day.
It's showing all my presets on my quad.
Oh, gosh.
I'm getting out of here.
Okay.
There's a lot in here.
And I named them the way I want to name them.
So this A is named Clean Me Daddy.
This is all my clean songs that I needed.
It's like gone or staying.
I need those low ends, you know.
Clean Me Daddy.
I got everything you need.
I got a compressor there.
EQed it a little bit.
This is Parasite in Your Nut.
It's very heavy.
It's so heavy, it's going to have Parasite in Your Nut.
For one song, I use Parasite in Your Nut.
It's very good.
This one, I use it for my G-Sharp clean balls.
You got to clean your balls sometimes.
This is it.
That's what we hear.
Sometimes.
When you're on tour, you can't even clean your balls.
You know what.
And you got the heavy balls.
But I don't use heavy balls anymore.
I got a friend from...
He works with Hollywood Undead.
His name is Jacob.
He hooked me up with the bootleg Parallax.
So he got me this Parallax Sim.
It sounds like Parallax.
Y'all need to release that Parallax as soon as possible.
We waiting, bruh.
All the bass players are waiting.
You got to get it out as soon as possible.
So, that's all my presets.
For this one, it's also a neural capture.
I got this from the neural thing.
Forcer Monster Eye X900.
Pretty sure that's one of the main ones.
I haven't looked up into this.
But I did AQ it for a little bit.
Just to get the proper mids that I wanted.
And the proper low ends.
And there's this X Ultra High.
I don't know what that is.
Yes.
Like the clean midi.
I'm using a bass cab, Amp Modern.
And I try to distance the mics.
And use Dynamic 52s and Ribbon 10s.
Because it sounds how it's supposed to be.
For clean bass tones, that's all I wanted.
I need that low end.
Since we're playing a lot of pop and R&B-ish.
It just sounds better.
You don't get to hear it a lot.
But once you feel the low end.
You know the bass is there.
Same thing as the other ones.
I try to play with it a lot.
You still got the parasite in your nut, bro.
I got a Darkglass bass cab in this one.
Because it's a very heavy song.
I have another neural capture V7K5.
Tried to tweak it a little bit too as well.
If I don't have my drop D guitar.
I use the transposer.
And just raise the four semitones up.
And it feels like nothing happened.
Same guitar but just transposed.
I got the compressor.
To make it clean.
No noise.
Noise reduction of the gate.
I'm a simple man.
I don't put too much on my plug-ins.
Because it's on the bass.
But that's most of it, dude.
Daniel do the MIDI and all the programming stuff.
He's the nerd guy.
I'm just here to play and to sing.
Make you guys proud.
Make you guys turn up.
I just got this recently.
It's from JH Audio.
Customized it.
They gave me an artist discount.
I got the Sleep Theory logo in it.
My ears always messed up.
But this is my first time having molded ones.
This helps a lot.
This actually helped me hear better on tour.
Shout out to JH.
I do hands.
This is my pick.
It's a triangular pick.
I forgot what you call them.
But Joey from...
What's his name?
Joey from Pop Evil showed me these.
So I started using these.
Because they're bigger.
And I get sweaty hands a lot.
If I get sweaty hands sometimes.
I turn them around.
It just plays better.
It's a 1mm.
We ordered more.
Because we're running out of picks on this tour.
In June...
I'll go to Herveo, please.
I'm begging you.
