Out in the Utah desert is an amazing array of gigantic natural bridges and ancient cliff dwellings of the people who once inhabited the region. Join me as we explore what's inside Utah's first national monument and discover petroglyphs, flowers, wild critters, and more!
now i'm the rock hopper and i'm the one
who likes to bring you travel
exploration and fun i said goodbye to
lake powell and all the midges and now
i'm taking you to a place called natural
bridges
let's take a hike and get up close and
personal with the supapu bridge come on
well look at that we got steps here
on down
we have a little railing here and then
it comes to
a ladder
yep you've got to climb down this ladder
down some more little steps here
i'll tell you what this little bit of
shade underneath this rock here is a
welcome relief
it's probably about 95 degrees and when
the wind is blowing like 20 miles an
hour
it's like a convection oven out here in
this
june day
here's a look at the bridge from above
i don't know if you can see those people
down in there
that should give you an idea of the
scale the size of this bridge it's
pretty big
getting closer
see those people
right down there
more railing
and
another ladder
here it is
there's a tiny bit of water down here
with a lot of water striders trying to
make two with what they've got
[Music]
the bridges have hopi names sepa
means
something akin to entryway there's more
beauty here than just the natural
bridges
[Music]
now we're on a different trail this time
one that takes us to the horse collar
ruins overlook
[Music]
off to the next trail
now we're on a trail heading toward
kachina bridge
nice steps there
this soil is known as cryptobiotic crust
this trail has carved in steps and a
little ladder too
going down the kachina trail
looks like a big pour off right there
[Music]
there it is kachina bridge
[Music]
i just found an assortment of
petroglyphs
[Music]
is this a good place to just chill this
guy thinks so
looking back on kachina bridge it's
almost hidden from here
we're going down to the last bridge
ochomo well that didn't take long to
reach a view from the other side
