#corgi#Pets#dog In this heartwarming corgi health update vlog, we take you along for our monthly dog care routine—including a visit to the vet for his monthly injection, a relaxing acupuncture session, and an important update on his upcoming root canal procedure. We talk about how he's been doing, his medical schedule ahead, and his overall well-being. Of course, no day is complete without a joyful walk through the neighborhood—tail wags, sniffs, and smiles included! If you're a fellow corgi parent or dog health enthusiast, this video is packed with helpful insights and positive vibes.
The vlog doesn't stop with the pup—join us for a cozy day at home where we whip up a flavorful pasta aglio e olio e peperoncini with chicken, check in on our growing houseplants, and head out to try Popeyes' new pickle-inspired menu (yes, we tried the pickle lemonade, fried pickles, AND pickle chicken sandwich—wild ride!). We also get in a killer leg and quad workout, update you on our latest jigsaw puzzle progress, and finally reveal the answers (and winner!) to our board game Pictures contest. It's a fun mix of everyday life, food, fitness, and games—something for everyone!
Here we find one of nature's most peculiar yet beloved creatures, the noble corgi.
This creature has entered its most sacred daily ritual, the mid-morning nap. Note the strategic positioning of the hind limbs,
designed not for speed nor agility,
but to maximize surface area for optimal belly cooling. For now, the wild corgi rests, but make no mistake,
should a snack fall within a five mile radius, he will rise.
Eventually. Hello, everyone. It's a corgi update. Are you gonna update us?
I wonder where Gatsby's looking at. There's nothing where he's looking. He's just looking off into space.
We're doing a lot of stuff to help keep him as healthy and happy as possible.
Gatsby does have his upcoming root canal. It's gonna be coming up really, really soon. It is a two day
process. So the first day, they're gonna take all of his vitals again and prepare him for the root canal.
And then the next day, they are going to do the root canal and everything should be okay.
I'm gonna stay with my friend who lives like somewhat close to UC Davis, so I don't have to drive
back home and then pick him up the next day. Just to catch you up, if you missed out on the previous videos, one of the
side effects from getting the radiation on his nasal cancer was that it kind of can affect his teeth as well. When the tooth dies,
it's no longer able to protect from infection.
And so the dentist said that 96% of the time, the dog will get a dental infection.
So a root canal will be needed. And what they want to do is they want to get ahead of that because his tooth is discolored.
That's the first sign that the tooth is dead. His teeth that are gray are this one over here and
this one right over here, the long one. They want to try to avoid having his tooth get an infection,
so they want to get ahead of it and do the procedure sooner rather than later. And since he already had nasal cancer and they
already irradiated the area, what happens is that the mouth already does not heal very well.
So if he did get an infection, it would be a lot harder on his body to heal.
They just go in the tip of his tooth and then remove
the dead pulp inside and then refill it with
the filling, which will basically turn his tooth back to a white color and it'll be strengthened and
should be safe from getting an infection.
So that's what we were going ahead with. A lot of people were asking, why don't you just pull out the tooth?
That's a really good question.
I asked the dentist that and I asked the oncology team and they all said,
you do not want to pull out the tooth because he did get radiation in that area and his mouth already will not heal.
So by pulling out the tooth, it will leave a huge hole and since his mouth is not gonna heal,
it will cause a lot more worse infections. Doing the root canal is not like a life-threatening procedure like surgery,
so I'm not too worried about it. And the recovery process should be, you know, like just getting a like a human getting a root
canal, too. You should be fine. He'll have like be anesthetized, so he'll need to recover from that.
He'll be a little bit like woozy, but I think other than that, he should be like totally fine.
He won't be like in pain or anything like that. Gatsby has been more than just a good boy. He's been so wonderful.
Thank you so much for all of your love.
So let's look up Gatsby's schedule for today. So Gatsby has his monthly percortin injection and then he has his acupuncture.
Then he's gonna go on a really, really fun walk and then later on in the next vlog, we will be doing his root canal.
That's what we have on the schedule for you for today, Gatsby. That was our Corgi update. It's time for us to start the vlog!
Yeah!
Look at all that fur! It is so shiny and beautiful. Gatsby, what do you do to make your hair so beautiful?
Oh my gosh. Gatsby's hanging out with me for breakfast. Yeah.
We're going to go soon. You have your appointments coming up. Okay, we got the laundry going.
Now it's time to take you to get your percortin injection and to get your acupuncture done.
You ready? Monthly maintenance time for Gatsby. Let's do it!
So just to catch you up, along with his nasal cancer, Gatsby did have cancer on both of his adrenal glands.
They thankfully caught it and we surgically removed both of his adrenal glands.
And so now he requires monthly percortin injections as well as a daily medication.
So I take him to the vet every month and it's a relatively fast procedure. It takes about a minute to do.
And there he is!
So that's the first one done. Now we have to go to get your acupuncture done.
I got them all lined up this time, which is nice. I don't have to make all these different trips.
Gatsby will enjoy the acupuncture one. It's a lot more enjoyable.
You'll feel good after this one, okay Gatsby? Yes! That smiles everything!
The acupuncture that he does helps make him a lot more comfortable
and relieves a lot of sore spots for him. Dogs, especially when they get older,
get a lot of sore spots and a lot of people tend to lean on acupuncture for dogs
to help relieve some of that pain. And corgis, especially with their long spine,
can get very sore. So I take him to see the acupuncturist about once a month as well.
And he should be feeling a lot of relief very soon. We're taking good care of you, Gatsby!
We did it! We got all of the appointments done for the day. Oh my gosh! Now it's time for us
to head back home and celebrate! Look at my shirt! I have so much Gatsby fur on my shirt.
Oh my gosh, he's watching me. I can't handle it. He's so cute sometimes.
Hello! Hello, cute corgi! Oh my gosh, that smile! You brighten my day, Gatsby!
I just wanna go out and walk with you. Baby, you know I just like to talk with you.
You don't have to tell me anything that's new. I just wanna go out and walk with you.
I just wanna see your shadow next to mine. Sailing over pavement with our two albums.
I like to see the shape you're in from time to time. I just wanna see your shadow next to mine.
I just wanna see the same things you can see. Understand the meaning on a new degree.
Maybe that could happen when you're next to me. I just wanna see the same things you can see.
And now it's time for a plant growth update. Let's check out on the plants. Starting off
with Gatsby's area here. Check it out. This is our brand new leaf that just came in yesterday.
Now this guy has seven leaves. More shade for you! This guy also got way bigger than when I first
got him. This is a picture of what he looked like when I first got him last month. This is him now.
This fiddle leaf fig was also one of the first plants that I got. This is what it looked like
a long time ago. And this is it now. My Diffenbachia plant has grown even taller than before.
As you can see, it's already taller than me. And look, it even has some babies growing. Here's my
golden pothos that's growing all the way across. It came down and is growing back up now. My money
tree all of a sudden started growing really big. This plant here I've had since I moved into this
place. And that was your plant update! I am Ryan from the future. I'm editing the vlog right now
and for some weird reason, the footage for this next segment came out really bright. I think I
must have hit the camera and the settings were really off. But I still wanted to share it with
you because I think it's really fun. So I'm just warning you, it's gonna be really bright. So sorry
about that. Apparently Popeyes has a new pickle everything. So I'm gonna try it right now. We got
pickle frozen lemonade. We got fried pickles. I've never had a fried pickle before. And a fried pickle
chicken sandwich. Apparently the brine is like very pickled. So we'll see about that. As you guys know,
I love pickles. I did a pickle video last year. It's really good. I was worried it'll be soggy.
No, it is a little bit spicy. It tastes like dill pickle seasoning on it.
It's good. I would give that nine and a half out of ten. It was very good.
If you didn't tell me that there was like dill pickle like brine in it, I wouldn't know. There's
like an aftertaste of like a pickle but it's like barely any. I would give that like a five.
I'll try it with the sauce first. Cooked pickles. It kind of reminds me of eating like
zucchini because it's warm. It kind of tastes like that. I don't really get that much pickle taste.
Let me try it by itself. Pickles are like really pungent usually. This is like not that much flavor.
I'd rather just eat pickles by itself. I didn't get the wings but I would for sure get the sandwich.
I think that that's like the best thing. The brine or whatever that they put as a seasoning. So good.
Hooray for Popeyes! It's another corgi day. So right now we are shipping out some more of your
orders. All the proceeds to the order are going towards Gatsby's upcoming Root Canal. Jen's ordered
from Scappoose, Oregon. Got one of our blankets. Lush and a leather key tray. I'm not gonna restock
this blanket. It's really gonna be limited edition and the main reason being that it is very big and
heavy and after I ordered it, I realized that I don't really have the resources to be selling
something this large. It just takes up too much space and it was like really heavy. It's like way
heavier than anything else that I ship out. If you want to get a blanket, there really are just a few
left. Make sure to grab one because once they're gone, it's not going to come back. Thank you so
much, Jen. Your order is on its way. Look how big these packages are. And Gatsby's here to help me
Thank you so much for your help, Gatsby. Yeah. Okay, next order. Louis's order from Livermore,
California. They can go on the couch together. Super cute. Thank you so much, Louis. Your order
is now on its way. Along with the blankets, we also of course have our t-shirts. We have our
new pocket t-shirt here which uses the blanket design. We also have a Japanese corgi chew shirt.
Kiara from Vancouver, Washington. Got purple and green which are my two favorite colors.
It says corgi over here in Japanese. And we still have the deal going on right now
where if you buy two t-shirts, any two mix and match, you get a free tie bag zipper pouch,
a random one. Kiara, thank you so much. Your order's on its way. We're gonna do Kevin's order.
He is from Hawaii. Mililani. A lot of my friends are from Mililani. He ordered two blankets and
one of our insulated bags here. Blankets are going fast so make sure if you want one to grab one.
This is a monstrous one. It's like almost seven pounds. Thank you so much, Kevin. Now on its way
to Hawaii. If you want to get your merchandise and support Gatsby and me, go to corgionfleek.com.
We still have a lot of t-shirts left. And then we have some Ray of Sunshine Club members here. For
those of you who don't know, our Ray of Sunshine Club is our monthly letter service. I'll write
you a personal letter to brighten your month. So we have new member Kristen from Wellsboro,
Pennsylvania. I have a letter here. It comes on custom stationery. I write you a letter,
newsletter. Right now we have contests going on and we share our results about our dogs. You get
free domestic shipping to my store. Polaroid photo. If you're a new member, I started giving
a cover letter. You get a quarterly gift if you signed up. So that includes these two magnets
here which are super cute that I made. And also you get your name listed at the end of our vlogs.
Welcome to the club, Kristen. Thank you so much for joining and supporting Gatsby and me.
Your orders are on their way.
Good boy. Just need to take a little bit of a break before we get back to work.
He's like, what? What are you talking about?
Today is leg day at the gym. I'm going to hit some quads. I am wearing my super short
two inch inseam shorts for quad day. It's time to hit some more legs.
So I hit legs twice a week. Today was my quad day. I also do a hamstring day later in the week.
Oh, hello. Hello, my corgi. Look at that stretch. Oh, butt.
Hi, Gatsby. I finally sold my Wii U gaming console. Back in the day, those were some
really fun times. I haven't played it in a while and I was going to donate it,
but I found out that it's still worth a lot of money. And now I have some money
which will go towards Gatsby's surgery and also his CT scan, which was like thousands and
thousands of dollars, like a lot. Gatsby, you're worth it. But I'm happy because it was just kind
of taking up space and now someone else can enjoy the system and all the games that I had with it.
There you go. Okay. Thank you. I already fed Gatsby his dinner, so we're going on our
evening stroll. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So after this, I'm going to be making some dinner.
I'm going to make something really simple and really delicious. Yes. Okay. So for dinner today,
we're going to be making aglio e olio and pepperoncini. I saw a recipe online for that,
which I wanted to try. It looks really simple and really delicious. And I thought we would pair that
with some grilled chicken. I'm already getting so much into this panini maker. It's crazy.
We're using chicken thighs, olive oil spray. So I'm just going to spray it.
This is salt, pepper, and garlic. So maybe we'll just try with that.
I'll start by boiling some water.
Cook both sides at the same time. We're going to do it for 13 minutes.
I have some Italian parsley, which I'm also going to do.
Okay. Ooh, that chicken looks good. Okay. So from what I just read, you don't want
so much pasta water. You want the starches from the pasta to get into the water. So we're going
to pour a little bit of this out. Salt. I guess one mistake that I always make is I always end
up burning or crisping the garlic too much. And they said, you don't want to do that. You just
add the olive oil to a cold pan. You add the garlic while it's heating up. So we'll cook
everything. Fresh red pepper. I'm going to add some of that. And the rest of my salt here.
Okay. It's already frying. So they said to actually just add some pasta water right now
before the pasta's even done. Now I have even less water inside of here. Three, two, one. Stop.
Okay. So then you just take your pasta. I hope this is done. Add it directly into the pan.
We add most of this. Squeeze some lemon on top. This pan that I got in the last vlog is so nice.
Look at that. Oh my gosh. It looks so delicious. The chicken pasta olio. It was so easy to make
and it looks so delicious. It's really good. It's really light. I didn't burn the garlic like I
usually do. So it has a really like fresh and light taste to it. Especially with the lemon.
The pasta does have a little bit of a kick from the red pepper flakes. It's good.
Actually, the chicken's pretty good. It's so good. I'm going to give some to my neighbor
because I can't eat this much pasta. I would give this like a nine and a half out of 10.
It's really good. I'll put the recipe in the description below. I just texted my neighbors
and they're going to come over and eat some of my pasta because that's way too much for me.
Hello. Editing Ryan here again. In the last vlog, we did a game and I mentioned that a random person
who got all of the questions correct would win a prize and I thought I would reveal to you the
answers and hopefully someone got all four correct. Let's see. Just to jog your memory,
this was picture number one. It was this one right over here. Ta-da. See? The spoon.
The spoon. Next one. I think this was the easiest one out of all of them. D3. The stork photo.
See the legs and the tail and the head. This one is really hard because there's not that many colors
here so I had to kind of just work with what I was given. The answer was B4. This one right over
here. The only thing was there's like a black thing here. The orange part, I think, was the
only other hint. There is no orange here so I think it's red and the black thing over here,
I think that was the biggest hint. This one was the hardest one for me because I don't know what
the picture actually was. A3. This one right over here. I don't know what this is. I chose a building
and a lock just because it's hard to get up there. I chose the clover because it's green all around.
I chose a bird because there's trees around and then I chose a car because if you look
very carefully there's a car right there. I know it's really hard but that's pictures. Did you get
it? The answer is correct. A4, D3, B4, A3. Okay, let's see who got that. I'm just gonna randomly scroll
somewhere and then the first one that I find that has the answer will win. A4, B1. No, A4.
This is correct. Here it is. Evelyn 24. Congratulations, you're the winner. I will be
contacting you and you win a goodie bag care package from my shop. Otherwise, let's get on
with the vlog. Hi Gatsby. So I got this puzzle mat for Christmas that you can roll your puzzle
back up. Trying it out for the first time. There's pieces falling out everywhere but the good news is
that it looks like the puzzle is intact but this is where we are for the puzzle right now. Gonna be
quite annoying. Probably gonna be like these clouds here and like starting on the green. Okay, wish me
luck. So this piece fits perfectly in here but it doesn't even go there as I mentioned in the last
video. All of the pieces fit together and the annoying thing is since this puzzle is mostly
just solid colors it's hard to tell whether this... I was looking and I was like oh that kind of looks
like it fits but see how it's darker? So this is the one that it was wrong but this is the one that's
right and if you look you can place these exactly on top of each other and it's the exact same puzzle
cut which is so silly. Ugh, why would they do that? Let's see this one goes here. There. So silly. Okay, this is what I got
right now. I did get a little bit more of this blue here. Four hours and 59 minutes. So almost five hours
into this puzzle. That's gonna do it for our vlog for today. Thank you so much for watching as always.
So Gatsby's Root Canal is coming up very soon. We're gonna be headed over to UC Davis and I'll be
staying with my friend for one night. That's what we have coming up. It might be a few days longer
before I post a new video but please keep Gatsby in your thoughts and yeah if you want to grab some
merchandise it would really help us out. Thank you so much and especially to our Ray of Sunshine Club
members right over here. Other than that though we're gonna head to bed and we'll see you guys
in the next video. Good night. Hey Gatsby, check out this awesome fan. The doctor just stopped by. He saw me
waiting outside and he said Gatsby just got out of his CT scan and they already reviewed
