Ok, let's go!
Jewels have always held a pivotal place in a society as monikers of history, culture and tradition.
Many gemstones and iconic pieces of jewelry have in famous past and give historicans and suitors alike a glimpse at what the world was like many moons ago.
Some has been stolen from conquered lands from ancient times, while others were purchased as gift by the rich and famous.
The world remains mesmerized by the legend and notoriety of many of these jewels' rich beginnings.
From diamonds worn by Hollywood art listers to baubles that have graced the crowns of royalty, take a look at some of the most well-known sparking stones.
And the first in our list is Koh-i-Noor diamond.
Koh-i-Noor is one of the largest cut diamonds in the world.
Weighing a colossal 105.6 carats, its history begins five years ago, when the diamond was mined in Kolur mine in the Gondur district in India.
After that, Koh-i-Noor diamond was owned by a string of sultans, warlords and monarchs.
The rock wound up in the English Crown Jewel's collection after the British conquered Punjab.
The 105-carat jewel is now kept in the Tower of London and sits atop the 1937-year coronation crown of Queen Elizabeth.
The second in our list of most famous jewels is Napoleon diamond necklace.
Emperor Napoleon gifted the diamond necklace to his second wife, Marie-Louise, to celebrate the birth of their son.
The original necklace featured 234 diamonds, 28 old mine-cut diamonds, a fridge of nine pendulums and ten briolettes.
Today, the Napoleon diamond necklace is on view at the National Museum of Natural History.
The third in our list is the Tiffany diamond.
The Tiffany diamond is one of the world's largest and finest yellow diamonds.
Discovered by the Kimberley diamond mines in South Africa in 1877, the 287-carat rough stone was acquired the following year by the founder Charles Louis Tiffany.
Cut to enhance its brilliant color rather than size, the finished 128-carat diamond sparkles as if lit by an inner flame.
It embellished Audrey Hepburn's neck while she was doing prayers for breakfast at Tiffany's.
And today, it's on permanent display in Tiffany's Fifth Avenue store.
The flamed yellow Tiffany diamond is synonymous with the house and has become a symbol of Tiffany and Co.'s enduring grandeur.
The fourth in our list is Dresden green diamond.
Natural green diamonds are one of the most sought-after diamonds worldwide.
That is because green diamonds are very rare.
Therefore, the Dresden green is no exception.
During its formation, the Dresden green encountered some type of radiation.
This is what gave the diamond its deep green color.
The Dresden green diamond is the largest natural green diamond in the world, weighing around 41 carats.
The story of the Dresden green started in the Kohler mine, India.
The first real note of the Dresden green comes from October 1722.
It was sold to Friedrich Augustus I, King of Poland.
The diamond is now on display at Dresden Castle in Germany.
The sixth in our list is pink star diamond.
The pink star diamond shattered every price record when thought to be sold for a staggering $71.2 million in April 2017 at the Hong Kong auction.
In addition, it's the single most expensive diamond or jewel sold at auction.
At 59.6 carats, about the size of a strawberry, the fancy vivid pink internally flawless diamond has known comparable in size and quality.
So how can you assess a price for something that is essentially priceless?
Industry experts say it commands top dollar because we wouldn't see another like it in quality and size or even close.
A vivid pink diamond this size is a total freak of nature, declared Tom Moses, executive vice president of the Gemological Institute of America.
By the way, it is the youngest jewel in our list.
The pink star was uncovered by the Beers in Africa in 1999.
The fifth is the Hope diamond.
It is possibly one of the most well-known diamonds in the world.
Is the diamond named after the emotion?
Nothing so fanciful.
Henry Philip Hope, a London banker and gem collector, owned the stone in the 1830s.
Deep blue diamonds rarely exceed a few carats in size, and the Hope diamond is, in fact, the largest such diamond known.
Weighing in at more than 45 carats, it is said to have originated from the Colour Mine in India and was first owned by King Louis XIV of France in 1668 before it disappeared and later re-emerged in London in 1812.
The rock was donated to the Smithsonian in 1958.
The original setting of the Hope diamond was made by Pierre Cartier.
The seventh in our list is Queen Marie Antoinette pearl.
Not just any pearl, it belonged to the ill-fated French Queen Marie Antoinette and was part of a jewellery collection sold by Italy's Royal Bourbon Parma House.
The 18th-century pearl and diamond pendant is believed to have been among the jewels stowed away in 1791, as King and Queen scheduled to flee from the armoured revolutionaries surrounding them.
The gems were given to Marie Antoinette's only surviving child, Marie-Therese de France, who endowed the present part of the collection to her niece, the Duchess of Parma.
A pearl and diamond pendant has been sold for $36 million by Sotheby's Auction, and it is a world record for a pearl.
The last for today is another gift from Napoleon, the Marie-Louise diadem.
Napoleon gave this striking diadem to his second wife, the Empress Marie-Louise, as a wedding gift.
There were also a comb, a necklace and earrings.
Commissioned in 1810, it was initially set with 79 emeralds, which were replaced in the mid-1950s with turquoise.
It left France with the Empress when her husband's empire collapsed, and remained with her family until 1953, until the sedan sold it to Van Cleef & Earples.
It is currently in the collection of the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C.
That's all for today. Thanks for watching.
