Hi everyone and welcome back to The Crafty Quinn. My name is Megan and I'm so excited to share with
you some 2025 fall DIYs that I hope you will absolutely love. So without further ado, let's
get crafting. So first up we have this station wagon that I got from Dollar Tree a while ago.
I've been wanting to use it on a craft and I'm going to use it. I'm going to paint using this
vintage teal color from Folk Art. It is a chalk paint so it is fast drying and that is my go-to.
I absolutely love colors like that but I love the fast drying ones. So for pieces of this I wanted
it to look like an old-fashioned 90s station wagon so I figured let's go with some antique wax and
using a makeup wipe I'm just using that to smudge it in and evenly to spread, uh, distribute the wax.
So once I did the wax on all of the pieces that I wanted to look wooden I went back
and just kind of traced around and just finished up the vintage teal.
So next I have these cute little cutouts from, I think I got them from Hobby Lobby, but they're
little wood stickers and I figured let's just glue them on first and then I'll paint them afterwards
so that way I have less to paint. So once I added all three I kind of layered them on top of each
other and then kind of scooched the middle one up just to be higher like above the rest. So then
I decided to use these wooden words from Hobby Lobby. It says happy fall and I tried all different
ways to break these apart. I used miter shears first that didn't work and then I had to, um,
go back in with a razor and just kind of cut them out that way and just kind of applied some force
and just broke them apart and then I went back with my finger sander and just kind of fixed up
the rest of the areas. So then I used some pumpkin waverly chalk paint and very appropriate for these
wooden cutouts so I just kind of filled them in there. Had to use the teeniest tiny little brush
with those little black lines in between and then Eddie decided to join me for this craft.
I was so excited to have him back helping me with my crafts and just so excited to be crafting again
and he likes to block the camera. So once I had them apart and then I did fix up the bottom
because they were exposed wood so I had to repaint them. I just glued them down. I decided to kind of
spread them out against the two wooden panels and then, see this is, I wish the words had come like
this originally and that's why I had to break them apart because they were not exactly what I wanted
but then I used Waverly's ink paint for the wheels and then this is a cute little pre-made
raffia bow from Hobby Lobby that I thought would look great above the words and then I thought
let's antique this a bit, distress it, so we use some more antique waverly wax here
and this is a chippy brush so I just kind of draw an X there and then just kind of go back
over the places. I like to go along the edges like that. So then once I had the distressing done
then I thought, you know what, let's add some vines to these pumpkins. Make them look like
you just came from a pumpkin patch and I think that's really the finishing touch there and we
are good to go and I did put the little piece of twine back on there and that's how it looks.
This is absolutely my favorite probably from this video. Okay, I lied. No, this one's my favorite.
So this is Dollar Tree's brand new latte sign. These are awesome. I was so happy to see this.
The basicness in me just loved this. So then I just kind of, so I used this um this Cricut tool
to kind of like see if I could lift off the wood because I was like that's great but that's not
exactly how I want this to look because I want to put some letters on this so I just kind of chipped
away at this and then it didn't come out smooth so I did have to sand over this and I used like
the strongest sanding grade that I had and just kind of kept sanding until it was like totally
flat and it will go flat you just have to really sand it for a while. So that's what I did.
So once I had it completely flattened I used um I think it's called true yeah true burgundy
from Folk Art which is a matte paint and that is the overall color of the latte.
So I did have to go back and do a second coat of paint on this one coat was not enough.
So then I thought you know what instead of the lid let's just do some whipped cream on top instead
and I decided to use whatever cardboard I had closest to me and cut out a huge extra topping
piece. So the little curlicue at the top did not come out exactly like what I was hoping but close
enough. So I just cut out um so there are two pieces of cardboard just like folded together
and then I cut out some rounded shapes as well to go on the sides because it looked so awkward
so I was like yeah these all need to be stacked on top of each other. So then I did just go ahead
and um lay down my stencils I got these stencils from Amazon and I love them because they look
like Ray Dunn. So um I'm gonna link them down for you guys below if you want to try them yourselves
but I love them and just to hold them in place I use some painter's tape. I've learned my lesson
from doing stencils in the past painter's tape from now on. So I'm using Waverly plaster and I'm
just using a tiny little brush here and then I'm just holding down the stencil at the same time
just to make sure it doesn't move. So I know some people like to use little sponge brushes for this
you could totally do that too I've done that before in the past with these and these are not
adhesive so I really felt like I had to just kind of just hold things in place besides the painter's
tape and then as soon as I was done just lift it off right away so nothing so none of the paint
goes with the stencil. So it didn't come out exactly perfect I did go back and fix that later
on same thing with the top came out a little bit extra in a couple places the white so I just went
back in with a teeny tiny little paintbrush with the uh true burgundy color to fix those spots.
So then we need our whipped cream topping and so I had to just use this cardboard and it was not
thick enough and I was worried about that so I glued them together and I just stuck them all
in the back realized I forgot to film when I was gluing unfortunately but that is what it looks
like on the back. Then I took some uh I forget what I'm like totally blanking on the word but
I took some ribbon from Dollar Tree uh burlap some burlap looking ribbon from Dollar Tree and just
kind of glued them on the back there. I love this makeup brush tool because I'm tired of burning my
fingers. So then I found some cheap spackle from Home Depot and it was the fast drying kind and if
you guys want to know the name of it below I can I can try and find out maybe find a link or
something but this is a fast drying lightweight spackle and kind of similar to what Dollar Tree
sells or used to sell and then also learned my lesson here I didn't want to get my project
covered in spackle so put down some painter's tape there and then I could actually reach all
of the edges that I wanted to and just keep spreading it with a little tiny popsicle stick.
I tried two different sizes of popsicle sticks and um this was really great for getting the the tough spots.
And then as soon as I was done just lifted it right up and then I used real cinnamon for this
wanted it to smell nice but uh you get the drift. And then it's not complete with some
without some actual pumpkins so similar to what I did for the truck I just made those same pumpkins
again to put on top. So this is how it turned out and I think I love this one the most. What do you
guys think? Okay DIY number three. So I found this cute little pumpkin shaped tray at one of my
Dollar Trees. I've not found it at any others. I don't know maybe this came out a couple years ago
and they just still had it in stock but I was like why not? So I found this at a large Dollar Tree
and I'm just gonna coat all of the sides of this in antique wax spread it around with a makeup wipe
and so I did all four out you know outside sides and then I did go and do the inside
of all four sides as well but I did not do the back or the bottom of this mini tray
and I tried to really go with the grade of the wood
but this wood is not perfect so it comes out a little blotchy in some spots
but sometimes you get some interesting wood knots in these pieces
and yes I did the top as well and it's a little bit messy but that's okay because we're gonna
coat this with burlap. This is burlap from Hobby Lobby. I got it I want to say a year ago and I've
just been waiting to use it and it was perfect because it was oversized and then I could just
cut it to the shape that I wanted. So yeah I just kept cutting kept cutting kept cutting
and then just kind of really cut it to the best it was I did not cut it perfectly to size I was
like it's gonna stick out a little bit but that's okay and then I used this faux leather leaf that
Dollar Tree has had a few falls now and I'm like that's gonna be my background piece and then I
liked the unfinished look of these welcome fall Dollar Tree letters I don't know I just I didn't
want to stain them and I couldn't come up with the color I really liked so maybe the I thought
maybe the unfinished look would look nice and I think it works. So then I had to throw together
a quick little raffia bow and this is made from a Dollar Tree Hawaiian skirt so I got this when
their summer summer stuff was still out and I hadn't made one of these bows in a while so
I was trying to remember how I used to make them in the past but I just kind of doubled them up a
and then wrapped it in the middle and that's the finishing piece. So we have a little welcome fall
shadow box for your shelves or you can also use this in a tiered tray. It's that time if you're

so you never miss when I drop a new video and I'm looking forward to trying to drop these videos
weekly if I can so I'm just really glad to be back. So last but not least this this is DIY number
four and so this is a scrap paper book that I got from Hobby Lobby. It has all kinds of plaid
pages in it so and apologies if you hear my puppy in the background we did just get a dog
we unfortunately lost our dog a little over a month ago but we couldn't handle the quiet and
we ended up getting another another dog and we got a puppy and she's she just turned four months
old but her name is Moon and we're happy to have her. So okay so I did the scrap of paper
and I cut it to shape and then this sign from Dollar Tree I just kept so I think you could
probably use a heat gun on this um on this felt but I like to do things a difficult way of course
so I just took this Cricut tool and just kept chipping away at it and I was surprised at how
little glue Dollar Tree actually used for this which is really surprising they love to load up
like the hot glue and it's so hard to get pieces undone from them but I just kept chipping away
at it and pulling it up and it came undone actually a lot easier than I thought and we're
going to use this sign for the craft as you can tell so um so then you have to figure out what
to do with the spots that have all the glue and that's where my finger sander came in handy
so I just sanded this down so it was flat because the paper is going to go right on top of this
so I used a craft bond glue stick I think it's Elmer's and I will not be using this again
because I laid this down overnight laid heavy books on top of this and I know it's supposed
to be you know repositional and all that but it did not stay glued for some reason I don't know
why but I let it sit overnight with heavy books on top still didn't work still didn't stay glued
so I need to find a better glue stick if you guys have recommendations
so I use more Dollar Tree words fall words that say hello autumn and I don't know what
that banging noise is in the background but my husband is doing something um yeah
so I'm using some antique wax for the hello autumn words and I swore I told him quiet on set
oh my goodness I'm so sorry guys it's not stopping okay so then I just hot glued the
hello autumn words down and then I just put a little bit of glue around the edges of this
and I didn't I didn't use a whole lot of glue but just just really just around the edges
now I'm wondering if maybe it's my puppy so then I got these uh wooden beads from Dollar Tree
and I've seen a lot of crafters use these for for signs and I thought wouldn't it be cool if I just
somehow combine the felt from this one sign to this together just as a I don't know a filler
I thought it would look cool but this requires a lot of hot glue and I think maybe it would be
best to probably use gorilla hot glue sticks just something stronger I wouldn't recommend
putting this sign outdoors and let's unless you're going to use a much stronger adhesive
and things like that because I don't think this would hold up with the scrapbook paper
maybe some clear coat spray paint would work too um so I'm just using some some Spanish moss for
this pumpkin as well I just felt like it needed a little something at the bottom so just kind of
using a tiny bit of glue because I don't want to burn myself because I'm not wearing gloves
but I just kind of like to bunch up a lot at once and just kind of throw it on there see what sticks
so I don't burn my fingers and then if any any pieces fall off I just kind of pull them off or
I cut them down to size and then I had to go back and fix the sides of the sign that
did not stay glued down I did not like those beads for the color scheme that we have here so I did
replace them with just regular farmhouse wooden beads and I have links to those as well
in the description of this video so that is the final product thank you guys so much for watching
