“Watch Every Audition from American Idol 2025”

I'm curious to know what you're going to sing for us today. So this song I'm going to do is Over the Rainbow, and I know it's kind of overplayed, but it's my own arrangement of it, so I'm kind of hoping it's a bit different than what you're expecting. Let's hear it. I'm ready. Roger that. piano plays Wow. Okay. Somewhere Over the rainbow Way up high There's a Land that I heard of once In a lullaby Somewhere Over the rainbow Skies are blue And the dreams That you dare to dream really Need to come true Oh Lord, oh Lord, why Can't I Thank you. Two seconds into you playing, I was like okay, okay. We're about to get a little master class in playing the piano. You've got a voice that could be really amazing pop. Right now you're in lounge mode. Yeah. You're not there yet. My favorite times when you were singing were the times that it was simpler. Sometimes it's the notes you don't sing. Sometimes simpler is better. That's fair. Yeah. Can we see if his hands can be tied? Understood loud and clear. laughs The point here is, you just have a style that you go to, and I'm going to give a challenge to you, okay? Got it. No jazz. No scatting. No boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop boop Yeah, you gotta fit, you gotta break some lounge habits. My mother says the exact same thing. Hey, listen to your mother. Listen to your mother. I know. Okay, now it comes down to the vote. Luke, what are you thinking? It's a yes for me. Wow. Carrie, what are you thinking? I'm trying to figure out where you would fit in in the space of the show. I'm going to say no. Ooh. But maybe you can prove me wrong. Um... I don't know what I want, but I think the fact that I don't know what I want is probably my answer. You did some runs that were not Sinatra, they were not Bennett, they were you. It's a yes for me. You're going to Hollywood! Thank you. We're going to rough you up. Get you out of your own way. I'm going to Hollywood!
