Hey everybody, welcome to another adventure. We're here in the beautiful Scottish wilderness
with my wife Nikki and we are on a two-night adventure. We have eight quite treacherous
kilometers of hiking for our destination, really remote Loch in here in Scotland.
Conditions are blazing hot, it's about 26 degrees celsius right now. We've had a uphill start so
sweating bullets and we're gonna enjoy the wilderness, hopefully go for a swim. Water
levels are quite low at the moment. We've seen a few creeks already dried up which normally
are flowing so expecting water levels to be low. We're gonna pass through some beautiful
docks and set up camp in the most remote of them all and try our luck at some fishing hopefully.
So come along for the ride and hope you enjoy the video. Thanks for watching.
But quite nice to hear flowing water after maybe an hour and a half of hiking. Look at the fish.
Well midges have come out. We've seen big clouds of them already but it could be a midge fest.
We'll find out.
On our way we're about four kilometers into the hike, about two hours. This terrain is quite slow going.
The midge situation is getting worse with every minute. I have quite a few midges on me already.
I don't know if you can see little dark spots. One went in my ear just now and all along my sleeve.
So definitely when the wind slows down they're coming out and it's only gonna get worse.
So we're gonna make a strong effort to get there quickly and set up the tent so we have some kind
of relief. We're trying to basically go over there. We're taking a long way around to stay up high
because that whole area is extremely boggy. It's called murder hole for a reason. Very hard going.
The terrain is brutal right now and we still got a long ways to go. We have to go all the way up there
and the bugs are getting buggier.
Oh man it's so hot. I'm so hot. Are we heading the right way?
No? Okay. Okay thanks for your help.
All right almost four hours into the hike and we made it to our spot.
It's approaching 6 p.m and it looks like we have the whole the whole loch to ourselves.
That's pretty cool. Yep looking good here. We're gonna get past these pines without over
We are quite tired. How are we doing Nikki? Great. Full of energy.
That's the spirit. Come on. Keep going. We want to get the perfect pitch.
How's your feet going baby? Super.
Lovely and the midges are coming out too. Oh let's go.
Oh boy. I like it. Divina. Nikki likes it. Nikki's exhausted. She doesn't want to carry
on and I want to explore the next bay. Look at those bays waiting to be explored on the other
side. Look at that one over there. That's all the way far away and that this one right behind me is
also beautiful but I think Nikki's one has more wind running through it and I can't. I'm too tired
to explore the ones on the other side too much so I think we'll go back there and pitch where Nikki
is. Let's go back. Okay I'm not filtering the water. Nikki is so we'll find out who gets diarrhea
Incredible spot to be in. It's been super hot and
oh man time to refresh. What a way to finish the day. Let's go.
All right so luckily the midges haven't come yet. That breeze is just keeping them at bay so
we're not taking that breeze for granted at the moment. We're gonna take advantage and cook.
We're gonna have a dal and rice with spinach from Fire Pot and we're gonna have a squash
and sweet corn casserole from Rio Tarman. We're gonna share them and see which one's best.
How are we doing in this super spacious tent? Amazing. Luxury. So tiny man. It's like almost
8 p.m. Sunset's about 10 p.m. here. It's a luxury one-person tent and it's a tight two-person tent.
Slightly tight. Yeah it's too tight. I think we need to upgrade but that is hard to upgrade guys.
Niki and I are absolutely exhausted. We're gonna crash in the tent
and we'll see you guys tomorrow for more adventure. Good night guys.
Good morning everybody. It's a beautiful day and we're stuck between boiling in the tent
with the sun coming out or going outside and getting bitten by all those hundreds of midges.
It's actually not that bad right now. There's a little bit of breeze and
I think that's keeping them at bay. So far so good. It's about 8 in the morning so if it's
good now the wind should only get a bit stronger throughout the day. Grateful for the wind once
again. Niki's found her coffee spot. I'll be waiting here. Right with you madam.
Blackberry jam, peanut butter, gluten-free bread for the wifey. Enjoy.
Here we have Niki's water filtering and here we have Ese's water filtering.
All right absolutely beautiful day. It's getting hot by the minute so we're going to
sunscreen up and we're going for the peak behind us. It's over 900 meters high. The round trip
might be two to four hours. We're gonna go for it. Take only water and snacks. Keep our
our packs light and come back to camp later in the day. We'll do some fishing and cool off in the
loch. I'm gonna wet my shirt before we go. Instead of sweating that will keep me cold.
I'll save some water from my body.
My little friend. Hey cutie. All right bye-bye off you go. Be safe. Safe travels. Go on.
Goodbye. Wow. Doing good. Come on. Nowhere near the top. Let's do it. How's it going?
We're getting there. Where are we going? We're getting there.
We're hurting. We're hurting man. Yay. We did it. 848 meters. Nice. That's really good.
Two hours. Two hours. Two hours. Amazing. Good to be here.
Home sweet home baby. Oh that looks great. So exhausted.
Oh that's nice. I'm going in with my clothes. I've been sweating over two days.
Oh that's amazing. Yes sir.
Hummus oat cakes with some avocado and Nikki has a lakeside view table over here.
Beautiful. Time for a little bit of laundry so we can have some fresh socks in the morning.
You stormed out and took the bag so fast you left your coat remember the one in Ontario
I still think about those days
in the stillness of
