Checking on me? Yeah. Hi. Tell them what we're doing today Cody. Well Venus, I'm glad you asked.
Today we are at Paddlewheel Park here in Vernon and we're actually just going to do a little
beach hopping tour. There's a really nice spot at the end of the lake where you can hit like
four or five beaches in a row. Not the greatest swimming spot because of course a lot of the
debris gets pushed to the head of the lake. So you got King Beach, Canoe Beach, uh was it
Lakeshore Park? Yeah. Paddlewheel, the one we're at right now. And I grew up swimming here at
Paddlewheel and King Beach. Yeah, I don't really swim out here but it's a wicked biking trail
and like I said you can hop beach to beach on a nice day. Why not? Nothing wrong with swimming in
there. It's just I usually get out there and get to the more clean areas. Anyways, check out this beach.
So as you can see Paddlewheel here has beautiful mountain views. Really nice park. There's a
playground. There's this old building. This is actually where the Paddlewheel ferries used to
pick people up and take them up and down the lake before there was cars and all that stuff.
Okanagan Lake's quite large. Stretching for I think it's 136 kilometers. See nice mountain views
over here. People parking their sailboats out there. There is a yacht club just down the way.
As you can see I've got the old Hemaway here. Fantastic bike. I've been riding this for a few
years now. They gave it to me to try out and it's been just amazing. So if you want to buy a Hemaway
bike look in the description. There'll be a link. This thing goes 80 kilometers on one charge.
This is the old station house museum. The station house used to be where you would load the ferry.
Nice little beach down here. They launched the first steamer Paddlewheel boat in 1886
in this very location. 1516 waterfront bar and grill and liquor store here.
Lots of gorgeous lakefront homes here with their own private beaches. There are a few really nice
resort style condominiums here. Super nice area and the Strand resort is like right next to it here.
Beautiful the Strand. All right we're at our second beach. I forget what the street is called
but I'll put it up on the screen. So the water's pretty clear here. Not too bad for the head of
the lake here. All right we're here at our third beach and this is called Lakeshore Park.
There's a bit of a jungle gym there for the kids and some bocce ball right here.
Play bocce and if you look in there it's all broken apart and people are kind of stupid and
ruin everything. That's cool but hey nice beach anyway. Pretty nice white sand
although you know it's been walked on by geese a lot. Like look at everything's covered in geese
poo. They have a real goose problem down here but yeah we're just here for a little bit and
then we're gonna move on to the next. There's probably a few more there. Canoe beach is really
nice actually. It's quite a nice little session there. Session. Session. It's a nice little session
A nice beach session. Yes that's more likely but it's a nice little section of beach is what I
was trying to say. Thank you very much. Thank you very much Venus. Now I'm zoomed in on your face.
You're beautiful. You better believes it. Let's go. All right we're at Canoe Bay.
It's a great spot. A lot of history here. I would read this all to you but that would take me
25 minutes probably but I think the First Nations people used to use this
as a hunting fishing grounds possibly to live as well. Beautiful spot here. Look at that.
I used to swim here as a kid all the time. Nice little spot here under the trees.
Not the most swim friendly water here. It's like a little lagoon.
There's a sandbar there. Maybe me and Venus will walk around the sandbar. I don't know.
We have to leave our bikes unattended. That's the problem. Yeah we'll just stay here. Nowhere to
lock them up. And that turns into Kin Beach over there and it's actually a lot nicer down on this
This type of sand gets really hot. No doubt. All right we're gonna walk around this little
sandbar. I used to swim around here as a kid and try to catch like minnows in this little like
lagoon area. It's kind of it's a lot dirtier now. I have to admit it used to be a lot cleaner.
A lot more beautiful. But that's how it goes over time. I crossed over to the sandbar.
So we're out here on the sandbar. Check this out. It's actually pretty nice and pretty warm too.
The sandbar goes way out there you can see. It's quite nice. Just keeping an eye on our
to find a picnic table. Another beautiful spot here. And the beach is basically empty today
for the most part. It's because the weather's been on and off.
But honestly it's fine. Temperature's really good. It's like 25-26 degrees I bet.
And the sun keeps coming out and going away so that's kind of perfect.
We got a dark wall of cloud coming towards us. We'll see. We'll see. I think we'll be fine.
That's funny. That's our relationship in a nutshell dude. In a big old freaking nutshell.
She's like, yeah it's gonna be fine. And me I'm just like, but what if? What if it's not fine?
And I get wet. Then what are you gonna do? You just change into a new clothes.
That's so true. That's why I need you in my life. Put her there.
She's so great to have around. Nothing bothers you hey? Filipino mindset man.
They're just like, nah it's all good. I'm just like, it feels cold. I feel like, I feel a little
bit of a coldness coming from that direction. But I am happy for the most part. Say it with
conviction. Yeah here you are. Getting closer now. The storm is getting closer.
I mean things have downright shifted now. We'll see.
