Healthy Living in a Forest Sanctuary – Expansive Luxury Custom Home in Texas

You know, when you're in Houston, you're going to be building and designing a lot of homes for a lot of engineers, but the specificity of this project was incredible. Our clients were after something that was obviously architecturally important for them. They wanted something that was functional, something that was incredibly precise in terms of the finished product, but also in terms of the process. They also wanted a home that was very healthy. As you walk into this home and you see this beautiful atrium open up into this incredible living space, anchored by a kitchen, you understand the execution of it. But the process of working with the clients here is really the story. They knew what they wanted. They wanted to be involved. They wanted to understand the details, and we accomplished all of those things. I'm really proud of the work that was done here, not just in terms of the work that you see, but in terms of the work that was done behind the scenes, the architectural intent and endeavor and the relentless efforts that we made here to ensure that we got everything. And there were revisions, and there were ideas, and there were concepts, and there was all of this process to get to this moment. The light coming down from the stairwell was so important to take a space that was otherwise dark and make it bright, even though there's no direct sunlight. Using healthy products, products that are going to enhance the livability of the space for the family that lives there. And then as you see, the beauty and the precision of how it's finished. I don't think you need me to walk you through yet another home, but the story of this home is behind the scenes. There are pockets of interest everywhere. There are views everywhere. When you are inside this house, you are constantly struck by the living in the woods, even in the shower. It truly is a retreat for a family who loves living as a family, even though you have older children, focusing around the fireplace, focusing around game night, focusing around each other. We were really specific about creating something intentionally for our client's family in the way that they like to live. I couldn't be happier with the result. Every comfort was thought about, every detail, everything that you would need is all there. It's all there. And again, using the beauty and the majesty of the surrounding from the utility and the dog area through to the living spaces. And finally, the most important destination, the owner's retreat, windows, natural light, symmetry, just the beauty of the aesthetic and the simplicity and the authenticity of what we were after here. This truly reflects the client's requirements, and I hope they live and enjoy many, many seasons and years of memories in this home. Little ideas like hidden spaces, little features in the ceiling or in and around the floor, consideration given to how you'll live outside, both in terms of the things you'll need and the space that you require. Nowhere doesn't have a view. Everything is connected. We encourage air to flow, and we encourage families to live. Welcome home.
