‘I was pushing pretty hard’ – Antonelli explains how he ended up in the gravel in FP1

So Kimi, a bit of a tricky day out there. We saw the moment in FP1. Can you talk us through that one first of all and were you able to rebuild some confidence through FP2 this afternoon? Yeah, I was pushing pretty hard early on in FP1 and then I locked up and then I got pitched and my session was over after just one lap and it was obviously not ideal because I obviously lost some mileage and didn't do any laps basically and in FP2 I kind of had to build my rhythm and yeah I mean there's quite a bit of work to do but we know where to improve and yeah now looking forward on to tomorrow. You said it just then, you know where to improve so you feel like you've got a good direction to work in overnight and of course there is the factor of some potential rain on the way as well so how do you weigh all of that up? Well definitely we'll see how the weather is going to be but you know if it's going to be dry we'll try to improve those few things and then you know I think it was a decent session. Of course there were quite a few mistakes during the lap but yeah we'll try to be ready for tomorrow.
