The Hachinohe Sansha Festival is held every year from July 31st to August 4th in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture. According to Hachinohe City, it is an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property festival with a history of over 300 years. According to VISIT HACHINOHE, the festival is characterized by a procession of portable shrines from the three shrines of Omi Shrine, Chojayama Silla Shrine, and Shinmei Shrine, as well as 27 gorgeous floats based on mythology and kabuki. The parade of the floats, which are 10 meters tall and 8 meters wide, is particularly impressive, and the roadside is filled with excitement.
