On this episode of our Yamaha WR250R and Honda CRF250L motorcycle exploring adventures, we shoot my GSG Firefly .22 pistol, find not one but two forest waterfalls, hit up some lonely forest roads that remind us of CRF250L trail riding, explore an abandoned camper shell deep in the woods, and eventually find what we think will be a pretty good motorcycle camping spot we plan to hit up in the future.
While we're stopped here for lunch, we decided to play with my newest toy that I picked up for
hanging out in the woods and shenanigans. I got myself a GSG Firefly 22 pistol, and
the best thing about being in the woods is, so long as you have a proper backstop, which we do
in this massive hillside, you can pretty much shoot wherever the hell you want. We're gonna
we're gonna shoot it a little bit today. It's gonna be very exciting. So duck fan is safely
to my left, and not in the line of fire at all. There we go. Oh, you know we don't have
ear protection. That's got a good crack to it. Yeah, it is. Kill the target. Oh,
less fun now. Well, you can do a round, a mag on it. Sir. So far, mixed review, mixed feelings about
this gun. I really like it. I like a lot of things about it. I like the way it feels in my hand.
It shoots really nice when you shoot it. There's lots of accessories available. It feels like a
really solidly well-made handgun. The only problem is, and this is fairly common with 22 pistols,
especially heavy slides like this one, I guess, it doesn't feed all ammo super well. With the
mini mag ammo, it's just fine, but mini mags cost a hell of a lot more, and the whole point of
shooting 22 is so that you don't have to buy expensive ammo because it's so cheap. We're
still working on it. I'm still playing around with which ammo works well, and we found a couple
that the Remington ammo worked really well the last time we shot it. Duckman doesn't always wear
his helmet when we shoot. One, we don't have any eye protection other than our goggles, and two,
well, he doesn't want you to see his beautiful face. Nice. Yeah, run out of things to shoot at.
It's feeding this okay. That's surprising because that's remanufactured ammo.
You gotta, yeah, see, there's an example. FTE. So, yeah, I may do a full review on it at some
point, but those are my, those are my impressions so far. I've had it out three or four times.
It's further down on the right side than the left side. That will happen when you're in a place like this.
Not much level ground out here. Well, I guess there's no reason to chase snow since there
doesn't seem to be much up there. More exploring down here is also fine. So graceful. Really, really graceful.
There is the D-U-C-F-A-N. Oh, it's fun. Okay, got a little, little down tree action.
Nothing serious. Man, everything just goes straight up out here. Oh, I love these tires. Seriously.
Definitely slippery, but it's motoring through. Okay, that was sideways.
Interesting. That hasn't happened in a while. Clean the tire. I, uh, I got a little sideways there, too.
Same exact spot. We're gonna get stuck. Just small practical wheelie that. If it was one tree,
it's always like five. There's a camping spot right there, though. This is a good spot,
except for it's in the road. I'd love to see what's up over there. It gets real steep.
Weird, this doesn't look that slippery. No, but it really was coming up. It really was. It doesn't
look as steep on the camera, I'm sure, but this is reasonably steep. I wouldn't want to walk up it.
That's why it's nice to have you as a reference, because it's clear that you're below me. Some of
these spots are funky. The mud's pretty deep right there. A couple inches, anyway. But this is
basically a stream bed right now. So, I got sideways again. Well, there you go. Back out into the open.
There's a couch right there. So, that's that guy. Epic. Epic. Beautiful. So amazing up here.
That's why we got dual sports. Well, I mean that and trail riding, but it's nice to be able to do
this. It's way more fun on a bike than it is in a truck. I like it in the truck, but it's not the
same. Oh, I took the left here. That's right. There's one that goes straight over there. That's
the main road. This isn't even the main road. So, we can go left when we get to the bottom.
Oh, yeah. Right here. Yeah. This has some promise all of a sudden. Look at this.
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Definitely not well trafficked. We're past the clear cut. Good spot for a wash
out as it's pouring out the bottom of the culvert. Oh, look at this. Ah, we spoke too soon about the
other one. Goddamn. Goddamn people. Pisses me off. This would have been a good camping spot.
Yep. Ah, horse ----. Why don't you go in there and lay in the bed?
That'll be good footage. This is what I'm talking about, people. This ---- is unacceptable.
It's unacceptable. Now, this is Tetanus City, just waiting to happen,
but at least I give you all a tour. Someone has shotgunned the hell out of it, clearly.
Birdshot, though. So, here we have the bathroom. Not reasonably intact. This clearly was the
seating area. The kitchen. And here we have the master suite up there in the corner. So,
that's lovely. That's lovely. So, if you're in the market for a very low-cost camper shell,
I could give you directions to... Oh, that could have gone right in my eye. A place where you can
acquire one. It's a fixer-upper. A little bit of a fixer-upper, but good investment, I think.
Well, considering the price, I mean... Yeah, right? This is how these places get closed down,
because people... Well, they're assholes, and they ruin it for everybody. Even with that there,
this isn't a terrible spot. Watch it, there's nails and all around these boards.
You don't want to get butthole tetanus. Or any other kind of tetanus, really. Sketch. Super
sketch, y'all. I don't think anyone's home, dude. Thank you, sir. That's not nearly as big as the
trailer we found. No, it was twice or three times as much garbage. So, maybe somebody will find this
one and clean it up, too. We can build a bike. Where could you go? Did I tell you that I converted
this to electric? No, but only downhill, right? Yeah. You're not really supposed to do this,
right? You push starting it right now? Uh, no, I've never tried. I'm gonna go ahead and use this.
I'm trying to find the key with one hand and then driving through a goddamn tree.
There are better ways than that to do things. Yeah, get your weight out there. Lean into that turn.
Almost back to the main road. Huh, well, and we're not even two miles up, I bet.
Good, I have a much better understanding of what's up here.
There I am to that waterfall. Oh, we definitely need to check that out. Yeah, at that minimum.
For sure. There's two right there. What did I say? Not even two miles.
God, I'm good. There's your waterfall. Oh, yeah, it's going all right.
You're gonna crawl under there again like last year? Yeah. I'm gonna try a selfie. Oh, yeah. Oh,
come on. You good? You all right? Need help? I don't think I can get it back up.
So I should not be taking your picture there. All right, hold on. Let me hop off. I killed it. All
right, I've got like four things. I almost just ate ---- right there because I hopped and caught
my leg on this bag. All right, well, this is going in the video because you never fall.
Yeah, this is not a good spot at all. It's very steep right here. You got it? There we do.
Oh, that is beautiful. That's beautiful. Good. You pull anything? No, I'm good. Sorry,
I had glove, camera, kickstand wasn't down. I wasn't sure if you were good. I should have just
set it down. Wouldn't hurt it. That will be really good for the video unless you don't want me to put
it in. Well, look at it and see if it's actually interesting or not. I mean, I'm gonna leave my
crash and make me look less stupid if you had one too. Here's one. Shall we? Yeah, hit it.
Do we? Let's do it. I think something with tracks has been up here. Yep. Looks like it,
which means it's probably clear. Oh, oh, here we go. Oh, that's legit steep right there. Yeah,
hit a big hole. I actually had to ride a little bit. Nice open spot. Oh yeah, that's good. That's
real good. There's no one probably going to wander up that little hill. You can turn around right
there if you needed to. Not a bad spot either. Although, well, we could get around that corner
in our rig. It's a little bumpy, but we'd be fine. Yeah, I think so. Maybe take a closer look at it
on the way back. Wouldn't need a four-wheel. Yeah. Whoa, it's the same waterfall. We're on top of it.
Oh, you're totally right. Holy ----, cool. It's got a cave too. Dude, dude, oh my god, that's awesome.
And if we hadn't come up here this time of year, this wouldn't be a waterfall.
Wow, is that another road up there? Maybe. Maybe. Does it loop around? I wonder how deep that cave is.
Might be worth checking out in the summer when you don't have to go through a waterfall to get to it.
Wow, guys, that's cool. Is the duck band abandoning me? No, he's just checking out the road. Look at that.
This is why you need a dual sport, everyone. Seriously. Does the road keep going? Yeah,
well, definitely a water source here if you wanted to camp in that open spot you're in.
Ah, definitely warm when we stop. This has been a productive road so far. Yeah, is that a spot
right there? This is the end. Oh, this is the spot, dude. This is the spot. There's ample wood.
Somebody's definitely been having some tours heavies. Curves heavy. Well, I mean, I would
camp here. I'd like more flat ground, but at least there's some. Here, I'm going to give you a tour
via dual sport motorcycle. These are duck band's tracks. Yeah, somebody turned around right here.
Hey, it's mud tires. All right, I'm good. Actually, I'm going to take some Agua real fast. Now I'm good.
Excellent!
you
