Right here, see, under the bushes, look under the bushes.
Zig, zig.
There is a monster anaconda over here,
because I saw this flat area, and I said,
that is an anaconda bicycle spot.
But I can tell you up under that bush,
there is a monster anaconda right next to you.
You'll see.
This is by far the largest anaconda we've seen.
And it's going to take all of us to catch her
without harming her or us.
So we're backing off a bit to quickly make a plan.
Can you catch it where it's at?
I can try. It's not going to be easy.
She's in a very precarious spot.
She's on that log with water on either side.
I think we should approach on the log and go for her,
but we're probably going to roll into the water.
And everybody goes to help him, because it's going to be crazy.
But this is no jokes, guys. You've got to listen.
This is not like hold your camera and watch me die, right?
This is come and help if you need help.
If she gets a coil around my trunk or my chest,
she'll break my ribs and kill me.
I'm not going to let go of her head.
I'm telling you right now, I'm not letting go of her head.
We need a safe word. If we hear the word cupcake...
Whatever, man. That's fine.
If we hear the word cupcake...
You're going to have to drop the cameras and help.
Let's go. Okay. Ready? Johnny, you ready?
I'm getting a little jittery here.
The plan is to rush her.
If I can secure her head, we have a chance.
Watch out. Watch out. She's going to strike.
Hold her. Hold her if you can. I've got to get her head.
Guys, help us. We need help. We need help.
We can't let her get more leverage.
Johnny, come help if you can.
Just come in, dude. Just come in. I'm serious. We're going to lose her.
I failed to secure her head.
Jess, be careful. She's going to strike.
Her head's up here. Her head's up here. Hold her. Hold her.
Come to here. I need help over here.
Cupcake. Cupcake. Cupcake.
Help, guys. Help.
You need to come to us.
Johnny. Johnny.
Someone's got to hold with Jess so I can go get it.
Good job. Help the girls.
Where's her head, guys?
Right here. She's moving. She's moving. She's moving.
Johnny, can you get in front of her?
I'm losing her weight.
We're not going to hold her much longer for us.
She's putting me weight.
She's gone. Clearly a survivor at that size.
That was my fault, guys. I went for the grab and she just dodged me.
They're so strong.
Fortunately, she wasn't hurt and neither were we.
The bag. The mesh bag.
Yeah, in there. In there.
Guys, she's here.
Johnny, keep eyes on her.
Get the dog gear. Get the dog gear.
I've never encountered a snake of that strength before,
so we have to do this another way.
We're going to get in on Scuba because she is literally unmanageable.
It's the first snake I've ever met that I can't manage.
She's twice as fast in the water,
reaching speeds of 10 miles an hour.
But we've tired her out,
so we're going to try to swim up next to her
and get a measurement before she slips away.
Watch her plate here. She's moving.
She's going down.
Underneath you, Mitch.
This is one of the largest snakes I have ever seen.
Arguably one of the largest snakes in the world.
We are diving with.
She is incredible.
Johnny, get over here.
She can easily stay submerged for 10 minutes or more.
And while she's too tired for an attack,
she's still a strike danger if we get too close to her head.
I need you guys ready. We've got an opportunity here.
We've got another shot at capturing her.
She's moved onto the shallow bank.
If we can all surround her and get on top of her head,
it could give us an advantage.
She's right here.
Do you see her head?
Her head's up here.
She's under this log.
She's recharging right now.
She's right in here.
She is unmanageably large.
We might have a shot at her here.
She's coiled, yeah.
By coiling up,
she makes it difficult for more than two of us to approach at once.
And knowing which part of her you are grabbing becomes a crapshoot.
I don't see her.
I'm coming. Stay there. Stay there.
I can see her head.
Same as last time,
if I can secure her head, we have a chance.
Watch out. Watch out. Watch out.
She's coming through to you guys.
Stay with her. Stay with her.
I'm going to go this way.
Watch out.
Go for it.
She's coming to you.
Grab her head. Grab her head.
Grab her head.
Yes.
You got her. You got her.
Hold her. Hold her.
Two hands. Two hands.
Two hands. Four hands.
All right. Four hands.
Everybody on.
We're getting her here, guys.
We're getting her.
All right.
Yep. Okay.
I'm here. I got it.
Jess, let go.
Okay.
Listen.
She's got to come under.
Yep. That's the way.
That's the right way.
Under. Yep.
She's got her head.
Not yet. Not yet.
And I got it. I got it.
Okay.
Here we go.
So grab the head.
A little bit higher, Johnny,
or you're going to get bitten.
There you go.
That's all right.
Shallow, not deep.
We got her, guys.
We're doing it.
We are doing it.
Okay?
Be gentle underneath.
Okay.
That's the way.
Just watch this coil.
This first third is the strongest third.
Yep. I got her.
We can get a chunk of her body into the boat, guys.
Okay.
You got her head?
Yep. I got her.
I'm here. I'm here.
I got her.
It's all right. It's all right.
Hold her mouth closed.
Okay.
You got it. You got it.
The darkness from this hood will calm her down
and restrict her from biting anyone.
It's that first coil that's the most dangerous, guys.
Yep.
Okay.
You can release her.
I can let go?
Yep.
Oh, Juliana, watch out. Watch out.
We're going to lose her in the water.
She's all right now.
Let's go to that area upriver where there was a nice flat bank.
That was insane.
The largest snake I've ever handled.
A hull of the animal kingdom.
You got her, Juliana?
Okay.
Okay. All right. Listen up, everybody.
We got to get a weight and a length.
Okay.
We got her length.
We have to measure section by section with a length of cord,
using her scales as reference points.
Okay.
Got it.
The longer she is, the older she is.
Look at the size of the snake.
She's an impressive animal.
Eighteen.
Nineteen footer.
A nineteen footer.
Not quite as large as the legends,
but average females are only around 15 feet.
She's an incredibly rare monster snake.
Never seen an animal like that, have you?
Now we're just going to shave off a bit of a scale.
This won't hurt her, but it will allow us to confirm her age
along with other biological data.
The average lifespan is about 10 years in the wild,
but at her size, I would guess she's much older.
Snakes this size are becoming increasingly rare.
And understanding the conditions that allow them to grow so large
will aid Juliana's efforts to conserve them.
This is absolutely remarkable.
I mean, a truly giant anaconda that we have had the privilege of catching.
So let's do the best we can to get a weight.
We've got a giant bag to weigh her,
but she doesn't even come close to fitting in it.
Let's lift from the straps.
She's very heavy.
Here we go.
One, two, three.
I've got one 220, 228, 229.
We didn't even get her whole body off the ground.
All right.
Easy to say, she's a 300 pound snake.
Going to take everybody to hold her.
Look at the size of this animal.
Easily 300 pounds.
And if you guys can hold her,
I'll take this off her head and we'll let her go.
Everybody ready?
Okay.
We're going to stretch her out this way.
Okay, here we go.
We're going to let her go.
Off you go. Go on.
Here she goes.
Look at that incredible animal!
Woo!
