The First Hints of Autumn in the Swedish Countryside 🍂

I can't believe that I'm saying this, but today really feels like an autumn day.
And I know we are in the middle of August, but you can just feel it when you go outside. It
really is like this autumn smell in the air, if you know what I mean. And just the entire vibe
outside is just full-on autumn. And I must say I am not going to complain about it. Autumn
is my favorite season of the year, next to winter. And I always get very excited when
this time of the year finally comes around. I just love it when you get to wear your cozy sweaters
and I am much more in the mood also to do knitting and drink hot chocolate and everything.
But it does feel a little bit strange, because I just returned from two weeks in Germany,
where I spent some time with my family. And we had a little celebration, because my niece
now finally is going to school. And we always have a big celebration around this.
But it was full-on summer there. And then I returned and it's just been gloomy and rainy
and like cold temperatures. So it takes a bit to get used to it. But well, I think this is
something you need to get used to when living here in Sweden, that summer is a very short period
of time. And also like the in-between seasons can be very short. So we got to make the most out of
it. As I said, I'm not too unhappy about it. So I think from now on I'll just embrace my autumn
And I managed to find a lot of berries. I'm very happy about this.
But it also feels so good to just be outside a little bit here in the forest. And
I'm again the only one which makes me very happy. And today also it actually feels quite warm.
Yesterday I think we had like 12 degrees. It was so cold and it was stormy and rainy the whole day.
Which felt a bit strange, you know, coming from Germany where we had like 35 degrees
and sunshine all the time. And you were wearing like
dresses and shorts. And then I came back here and I was like, oh well, I might get my scarf out again.
So yeah, it's nice. I mean, it's nice to have those, you know, differences
sometimes. But I'm also happy if summer lasts just a little bit longer. So we'll
we take what we get. And now I'm gonna walk home and clean my blueberries and
put them in the freezer. And then we're ready for winter.
And when I was back in Germany now, I brought back one of my favorite things that I played
when I was a teenager. I spent so, so, so many hours on my Nintendo DS back in the days. And
especially with this game Harvest Moon. I don't know if some of you maybe remember this. But
god, I literally spent so many hours every single day playing this. And I found it again at my
place and I had to take it with me. And I think I'm gonna play it again and just see if I still
remember how all of this was. I'm super excited. I'm gonna be out now for a couple of hours, I think.
See you later.
I remember the sounds. Oh my god, this was really my favorite game ever.
So I'm now cycling down to the river because I told myself that I am gonna take
a dip every single day. But it's not possible. And I hope the water temperature is not that
freezing cold because we had a lot of storms in the past couple of days.
And yeah, it already wasn't very warm before all of this. But I'm not sure it's gonna be much
better now. Oh, and look. Hey, sun.
My friend. They're staring at me. But it's also very windy,
so we'll see about the swimming. I'm trying to be brave here.
Well, not sure I feel like going in. I think the water maybe has a temperature of like
15 degrees or something. I'm not sure I'm brave enough today.
I might try again in the morning when there's a bit less wind. Because it is very windy.
