Can Americans Win their First Ever Cricket Match!?

We're getting in the van today because I booked us a scrimmage against an indoor team in New Brunswick. They're getting all their all-stars together. The main guy's name is Shake. Don't come at me, bro. We're just gonna play by their rules and let them umpire. I have a video to show you guys in the van of how they play. Me and Joe's did a little scouting to figure out positioning. I expected people to not be as tuned in as they were, but everyone was kind of locked, like figuring out the rules, the game, the strategy, all the umpire signals. That's a big one. You know, you want the players to know what the officials are saying and what it means. Everyone's feeling really good going into this. I think everyone's feeling confident. This facility is a lot like the warehouse, so we shouldn't feel that out of place. This is like a warehouse cousin. I feel super comfortable about that part of it. Shane, nice to meet you. This is your keeper right here. I didn't have any big plays in the field. I felt really comfortable as wicket keeper, which I didn't expect. So I hope I can kind of pursue that as an option, especially because we got guys like Cole, who can range better in the outfield. Hey! They're like, what the ****? They catch everything, yeah. He had an awkward attempt at it. Dot ball, he missed it all together. That one felt good. Overall, the bowling was pretty solid. The best thing to do is make them hit the ball. I wanted to coach Jake a little bit on the positioning and what's going on, and it's ironic that as soon as I got there, the two balls were hit to him. I was closer to that one. We collected a bunch of wickets, like five or six, but the biggest thing, 32 runs off of wise. So we're gonna have to clean that up. I don't know if we can, but we're gonna have to. I'm glad that we bowled first because now we get to see what the chase is like, right? We're gonna be able to chase these guys. It's gonna be, it's gonna be looking good. I think we're fine. Our guys can hit. If we can get the six stroke going, which that's kind of what we do. I know it's up the middle, but so is the warehouse. Maybe we shocked the world today. We have to score 108 runs to win. Easy. Me and Cole are gonna open it up because Cole's got the natural thump and I've played ball and play and maybe can help him with the running aspect and be a loud voice. All we gotta do is just knock it out, bang the ball around, feeling good. I asked the keeper, what does this guy have? He said. Straight. Straight? Nah, I don't believe you. And then the first guy, he's running at me. He's doing this funky delivery. He's like skipping, dancing, almost looks like a whole production. First ball to me, wicked. Minus five. We switch, Kotuck is up. He actually hits his first ball really well. Oh yeah. Oh my goodness. What a catch. I turn around, the guy's standing on his neck. Bad start, guys. Bad start. He's literally on his neck looking at me. I think we made eye contact and he's like, oh, and showing the ball. Minus 10. But that's all right, because they started out minus 10. We got it out of the way. We're done with it. Let's start getting some runs, getting to the positive. That's the end of the over? Oh, that's out. Okay. I'll be honest. I didn't think we had any shot. I also didn't know you could go negative. We're negative 19. That's bad. Yeah, that was humbling. After that catch that one guy made going into that, it felt like they said, hey, welcome to our house. What's he ball? Fast straight? That's what you said about everyone. Super fast? Suddenly starting to feel like maybe we're out of our element. These guys aren't taking it easy on us. They're mixing their spots. They're mixing their tempos. He's fast. Let's see. I think the next ball is going to be a wicket. Got him. **** this. Everyone's getting out in every which way. They're making catches. They're running us out. We're walking out of our crease and getting stumped. We're getting straight bowled on slower balls. It became a race just to get into the positives. Just to get our number to zero. Let's lose and not be minus runs. Guess how many more runs we're down by? Minus? We're down a billion. 23 runs. I can get rid of those 23 real quick. MJ. I was taking a lot of notes throughout the game. Things that we should work on. Good things that we did. Showing your notes app. He was locked in. He's taking notes. There's different things. Three lines of diligent notes. And he noted that the batting wasn't great. Joe's isn't really showing me a whole lot. I don't even know where Joe's is. Coming in, I really thought Joe's was going to like be the glue that brought us together. But I've never seen him more checked out. Worried about that in Barbados when the rum punches start flowing. I'm not here to beat anybody down. You know, all my years, expertise in cricket. At the end, I feel like me and him were like probably our only pair who like were able to like kind of like play with each other. But like we were communicating well. Zoe could be a sleeper for us. Cole Tuck though is going to have to be our ringer. He's kind of figured out the bowling. The best so far. He's also our best athlete. All right, two balls. Two balls minus nine. They said the first time in 13 year history of having games at that venue, a team finished negative. So the good news is in Barbados, we're not going to be able to accumulate minuses.
