Hello everyone! I'm here again in my veranda area to check on my succulents and I have a sharing
for today. So our topic for today is what are the succulents that are easy for me to take care
or to propagate here in my area. So for those who do not know, I live here in Pulang, Cavite, Philippines.
Today is August 28th and our weather is gloomy. It's cloudy. So right now it's not raining but
this week it has been raining a lot and I'm getting worried about my succulents because
some are not really looking well. But still praying and hoping that they can survive.
So let's go back to our main topic for today. So our topic is I will be sharing with you
the succulents that's easy for me to take care here in my area or in my garden and it's also
easy to propagate. But it doesn't mean that if I say they are easy to grow, you will not be having
any problem on taking good care of them. So they are still susceptible to pests, gully bugs,
fungus, just like all the succulents. But what is very unique about them is that they are easy
to grow to propagate through leaves and stem cuttings. So the first one as you can see in the
video, this is our big basin of purple delight. I just propagated this big basin of purple delight
this year. I think it's around February or March if I am not mistaken. So I just propagate it
through stem cuttings and now look at it how lush and how cool is the big basin already with purple
delight. And right now it's very colorful. It has its purple but it's not really fully stressed. So
this big basin is located in a rain or shine area. There's no roof, there's no net or usually
plastic that is protecting it. So it's totally exposed to full sun and full rain. And so purple
delight is the first succulent that I would like to recommend for any beginners who want to collect
succulents. Yeah because it is very easy to propagate through leaves because it has a thick
leaf and it's easy also to propagate through stem cutting. Just make sure you pot it in a dry soil
mix. So the next succulent that I would like to recommend for beginner is the drop the petalung
Mendocay. So this is a big basin also of drop the petalung Mendocay.
As you would see it also have the stressed color especially the one
that is bigger set. It has the purplish stressed color but for the small one it doesn't have that
much stressed color and there are weeds also. Let's try to remove it as I share something
about it. So drop the petalung Mendocay I usually propagate it through stem cutting.
So I propagate this basin as I have said through stem cutting this year only last March and look
how lush it is already. So I am planning to cut the big rosette this rosette because it's getting
matured already. So propagate and create another pot or another basin of Mendocay. So drop the
petalung Mendocay can be propagated through stem cutting or even leaf propagation. So when you cut
it let's get a cutting you can use just simply use your fingers to cut it because it's easy.
This is the way I cut it.
See then all you have to do is put it on top of the soil mix and it will grow there.
So when you propagate leaves all you have to do is left and right it's easy to remove
actually the leaves and then and then just put it there on the pot or a new pot just make sure
the pot is has drainage hole and the soil is dry. So when I propagate my succulent
especially purple delight and cut the petalung Mendocay
I propagate it using a dry soil mix. I don't propagate it using moist or wet because
it's susceptible to get rotted.
So this is the other part of my propagation of Mendocay. This year it was propagated
together with the purple delight and the Mendocay there. So they are propagated on the same month
March 2025 and they are already all lush and they grow so lush but with different looks.
So the other one look like this from afar and this one look like this so they grow differently
but this one also have bigger sets of Mendocay that has stressed color but not fully stressed
and there are some weeds also. So I haven't cleaned up the front yard where you can find
the purple delight the big basin of purple delight and the Mendocay. So this is the basin
of purple delight so grab the petalung purple delight it's the first succulent that I can
recommend that's easy to take care propagate one is our Mendocay it is also a family of
craptopetalum easy to take care and propagate you can put it in a rain or shine area as well as
craptopetalum mirini. So mirini it looks like Mendocay if you haven't watched my vlog about
succulents that look almost the same you can go back to my channel and look for it. So it's
recently I think this month only that I made that video so it has smaller rosette compared to
Mendocay this is my mother pot of craptopetalum mirini and I strongly recommend this also for
beginner it's easy to propagate through stem cutting you may also propagate it through leaf
but it would take lots of patience because it really grows slow you know but if it's properly
moist it can grow fast too. So as you can see the inner pot is empty because I made cuttings there
so what will I do is I will propagate this pot this mirini I mean the craptopetalum mirini by
getting the matured stem of or matured rosette and put it in the middle but I cannot do it right
now why because it's rainy season it might not survive if I get cuttings and put it so for the
meantime I will leave it like that first. So we're done here showing the succulents in the front yard
so let's go up in the veranda area to share more succulents that we can propagate or take care in
in my area so fast and easy to take care let's take a look at this pretty flower so beautiful
so here in my veranda area we're here in the veranda area already so I still have pots of
craptopetalum mendocay, craptopetalum mirini this one was potted in a clay pot
as well as this one and I also have a propagation pot that is potted in a long
pot but it's already old so I'm planning to transfer this one but not now after the rainy
season maybe so I have here the craptopetalum mendocay and craptopetalum mirini there is also
but I cannot recommend for beginners Ellen because it's susceptible to edema I still have
some small pots of mirini also here I think it's only just one pot so I'm planning to make
more pots of craptopetalum mirini and mendocay after the rainy season and I still have some
pots of purple delight here in the veranda area small pots there but they are not as colorful
like the one in the front yard this one also is a purple delight and another pot also there
in taking care of purple delight and I just experienced that there are times during rainy
season that there is a possibility also that they got they get or they had this fungus but
not so much and they can easily recover so that's the common problem that I have encountered
with purple delight only fungus during rainy season and for craptopetalum mirini
and mendocay I don't have any problem with them or experience them having fungus
or mellabugs but during summer their rosette really get small because they really got dehydrated
because they are placed in a rain or shine area here in my veranda as well as in my front yard
and before I forget I have this special head pot here so what is potted on the head pot
is our craptopetalum mirini it has been potted here for three years
so how do I maintain this pot is that I just simply I just simply trim or get some rosette
if you would see there are some cuttings there so that's how I maintain this head pot to make
it lush and it is also nice if you expose the craptopetalum mendocay, purple delight and mirini
in a rain or shine because they will really survive that setup and they will be more lush
and more beautiful if you expose them to a rain or shine area so the next succulent that I can
recommend for beginners is this arun pei so this arun pei has been with me for more than
three years I think or two years so I have them this is my mother pot as well as this one
so I got all my cuttings or propagation of arun pei from these two pots so
the rosette is compact because it is exposed to full sun and rain as we all know that so all
the succulents that I'm going to show you guys here are exposed to full sun and full rain because
there's no roof no net no uv plastic that protect them from because my veranda area
is totally exposed no roof so full rain full sun whenever it's sunny or summer
so this pot was propagated from stem cutting coming from the first two pot that I have showed
you so I have several pots of propagation coming from that pot that's why I can strongly recommend
arun pei to all the succulents to all gardeners who want to start collecting succulents
because they are easy to take care and propagate so I propagate most of my arun pei from
stem cuttings but sometimes when the leaves fall I also propagate it through leaf propagation so
it is also possible to propagate it through leaf propagation so this is the third pot of my
propagation this is the fourth pot and this is the fifth pot so look how many I have propagated
from the two pots that I have first showed you so there are a lot so that clearly shows that
they can really survive here in my area so it's easy for me to take care of arun pei and to
propagate them so I haven't experienced that arun pei have fungus or mealybugs or any kind of pests
so just like drop the petal on me and they say and mirror me the next succulent that I can recommend
for beginners is the sedum adultii so this is the golden glow or golden I forgot the exact
ID but it's a sedum adultii so I have several pots sedum adultii is easy to take care but
they are susceptible to mealybugs just like what you are looking at right now
they are also susceptible to acid and fungus but what's good about sedum adultii is that
even though they are susceptible to mealybugs and fungus all you have to do is remove the affected
part of leaves with fungus and spray isopropyl alcohol to your sedum adultii and it can survive
and recover as fast as it could so it's easy to treat the problem with sedum adultii
and sedum adultii is very generous also in giving offsets and they easily get stressed
when the climate change from sunny to cold or even to rainy season so right now they are not
fully stressed because it's rainy season no much sunlight they are receiving although there are
a touch of stress colors on it so the next succulent that's easy to grow here in my
succulent garden is the Chloe so if you would see I have the mother pot of my Chloe here
it's a big pot and it's so lush and I have several pots already propagated so for Chloe
I haven't experienced any pests or fungus infestation in my Chloe so I have been taking
care of my Chloe for three years already so this is the other pot of my Chloe it's a propagation
coming from the mother pot there's another one here and Chloe is very generous in giving offsets
look at the back part of this pot right it has lots of offsets or babies so when they're getting
big enough I have to cut the mother's chest to propagate it again so this is the other part of
my Chloe it's pretty lush already so I can transfer it into a bigger pot after the rainy days
so the next one is the Raptoptera morphine so this is a lush part of my morphine it's actually
a propagation from cuttings I just propagated it this month of April this year April 2025 so you
see it doesn't look stressed but it's nice to look at because it's like a bouquet
and the common problem with morphine that I always encounter is them having
aphids infestation and even fungus so that's the common problem that I have encountered them but
they can easily survive the infestation as long as you remove the infected part or leaves
so since it's easy to propagate and to take care here in my succulent garden I have several pots of
morphine forgot to show you this is another pot of the Chloe that I have and this is another
propagation pot of my morphine and this is my lush pot which is trying to recover
from the infestation of fungus and aphids if you would see the marks on the set so during
rainy season it happens to my morphine and this is the other pot although they doesn't look pretty
much good now they can easily recover after the rainy days so I'm just trying to wait when will
so this is how it looks like during rainy season if you would see there are also some edema
edema marks on their set but they would recover after the rainy season I can still recommend it
for beginners because it's easy to propagate and it's very generous also in giving offset
the next pot or next succulent that I'm going to recommend is the Luella but Luella is really
susceptible to mealybugs especially when they become clumpy like this pot especially when you
don't spend time in removing the dried or black leaves on it it is really susceptible to
mealybugs I'm telling you that's my common that's my problem with Luella but it's really
generous in giving offsets it's easy to take care it's easy to propagate but the infestation
of mealybugs is really terrible as shall I say but they are really pretty when they get stressed
especially when cold seasons come so the next succulent that I can recommend for a beginner
is my ghost pea so this is how a ghost pea look like when it's stressed during rainy season but
ghost pea is very beautiful and very unique why because they have different stress color
depending on the climate or the season that they are in and they are very easy to propagate through
but they are also susceptible in mealybugs and fungus from time to time so that's the
common problem that I have encountered but it's okay because if you if you try to maintain your
succulent garden by visiting it from time to time that common problem would be easily solved without
just use 70% isopropyl alcohol for mealybugs simply remove the
leaves that is infected by fungus and aphids just like this it has a black spot
simply remove it and throw it away so ghost pea has been with me for four years
I keep propagating it and starting it by stem cutting and leaf propagation even if you just
simply throw the leaves in a soil mix or a pot with the soil mix it will really grow so fast
like this so the next pot or next succulent that I will be showing is the echeveria silk veal so
this is one pot of my echeveria silk veal and I have several pots of it I can strongly recommend
this for beginners because it's easy to take care and it's very generous in giving access
and it has really a very beautiful stress color during summer and cold season so echeveria silk
veal is not susceptible to fungus but they are susceptible to mealybugs especially when they're
giving babies at the bottom part so it's really susceptible to mealybugs so you just have to
check it from time to time but it's easy to propagate because it's generous in giving access
just like what I've said you can also propagate it through leaf and stem cutting there are also
some echeverias that I can recommend for beginners just like this heroine's gold so this is
my mother pot of heroine's gold and I have propagated so many pots of it just like the
one beside it just like this one which is very fresh or have a stress color not so stressed I mean
so I have several pots of propagation another pot of propagation here
this one too is heroine's another pot of heroine's and here's the other pot so it is also susceptible
to aphids but not much of mealybugs another one here the next echeveria that I can recommend
for beginner is the alba beauty so I this alba beauty is a propagation of mine this is my mother
pot of alba beauty if you would see it's very generous in giving
offset so I haven't experienced that alba beauty have problems with mealybugs or fungus but during
rainy season you have to expect that they will be having mushy lips at the bottom part because
they're drinking too much water so outside from alba beauty I also recommend amabile
for beginners it's an echeveria so I have another pot of another pot of amabile here
so I cannot find the other pot the next succulent that I can recommend is this echeveria apus
or apus I don't know how this is really pronounced so I have several pots here in my veranda area
so I propagate apus actually I don't propagate it it just gives offset so when the offset
gets into a right size I just simply cut and propagate it into another pot this is another
pot of amabile next succulents that I can recommend also for the beginner is the blue cloud
echeveria blue cloud this is have a very beautiful and stunning beauty with its blue
wish color with thick farina and it is very generous in giving offset too I have several
pots of blue clouds since it is very generous in giving offset I have propagated more of it
one two three and four so I have four pots of propagation and I still have more of the
blue cloud here in my veranda area and this is my mother pot of my blue cloud so all the
propagation that you have seen that comes from this mother pot of my blue cloud so it usually
gives offset at the bottom part but right now I have already removed it and propagated
so I have no much problem when it comes to blue cloud so fungus is just
mainly bugs whenever it gets offset at the bottom part it usually
it's about two millibugs so I just have to spray alcohol on it and the last one that I can
recommend for beginners is the hybrid aloes so there are different kind of hybrid aloes
here in my veranda area and I was able to propagate it through their offset so it's
very generous in giving offset look so there so it's easy to take care you can put it in a rain
or shine area so all the succulents that I've showed you they are placed in a rain or shine
area no roof no uv plastic and no net total exposed to full sun and full rain so I place
them in a rain or shine area to achieve the full stress color and for them to become healthy just
make sure there's a proper air circulation in your in the place where you're going to put them
so aloes I propagated through their offsets coming out from the bottom part of their
mother plant I am so proud of myself that I have propagated also then through seeds this pot
was all propagation coming from the seeds that I got from my hybrid aloes yes I have grown them
from seeds and it took me a year to make them to make it this kind or this size so it's been a year
but they are still token sizes but although there are some that's already be
it's the flower of the hybrid aloes and this is where I got the seed so I'm just waiting it to
get ripe or get a little bit dry so there are a lot there are I think some more
succulents that I can share for beginners maybe I'll make another video but for now my video is
