For Randy Gulik of Wild River Adventure Tours, the passion for the wild outdoors of Tumbler Ridge is a family affair.
I've been coming to the area since 1978. It was long before there was a town here.
You couldn't beat it. You're in the middle of the most untouched place in the world.
The water was crystal clean and we're the only ones there. All I could see was a jet boat had
come up into the bottom of the falls. I thought, I'm gonna do that someday. My oldest daughter,
she's been boating ever since she was three days old, straight from the hospital into the river.
She'll come on every tour she can. Every day I get proud dad moments. It's actually almost
bringing tears to my eyes talking about it. I think Tumveridge is like one of BC's best
kept secrets. We don't have to line up to see nature here. When you go into the backcountry,
you're into the wild like it doesn't get any wilder. To actually be able to experience
Canoosa Falls with somebody new is pretty amazing. When you drive around the corner,
the excitement in their eyes and their voice, that gives you one of the biggest thrills you're ever
going to get. And then when you pull right into the pool at the bottom and the mist is in your face,
you can't beat that. I've been there I don't know how many thousand times and
I take pictures every time I go.
