In this episode, we went from Granby, CO to Soda Lake near Pindale, WY. A little over 400 miles in total. We stayed in National Forests, a KOA, and some BLM land. We are headed up to Jackson WY and plan to stay there for a week or so.
All right, so today we are leaving our campground after four nights of staying here, but this
morning we've got to go empty all of our nasty tanks, fill up our water, and after that we're
headed up to, what is it, Springboat?
Steamboat Springs.
Steamboat Springs to stay on some BLM land for free.
Probably for the next, I don't know, three, four, maybe five days.
Madison is in the grocery store and me and Ollie are just waiting for her.
I think we're going to try to go here, about 64 miles away.
We're going to go from Granby up to near Steamboat Springs.
Get some water in our tanks before we head up into the mountains.
This is a nice little free spot where you can get drinkable water.
It's all free.
There's a lot of little places like this you can find on the road.
This ought to last us about four days, maybe five.
Ollie does not like that this dog is following Tyler down.
Tyler just went down this dirt road to see if we could find a campsite on this BLM land.
This is our first time doing BLM, so the road is a little bit sketchy, so we will see what
we can find out here.
Let's see if he comes back with good news or bad news.
Alright, well, there's a spot down there.
I think there's a lot more around the corner.
Well we have officially found our campsite for the next three to four days, or until
we feel like leaving.
Here we are.
We did find a really nice spot on the other side of the road over there, but we didn't
have any internet, and unfortunately we need it to do some work.
It's only about less than two miles from the main highway, so it's pretty easy to get here.
We are very isolated out here.
I mean, look at this.
We can only see one camper over back this way, which is nice to have company.
So the last spot that we had that we were staying at just for, we were going to stay
there for three or four days, but the internet was just terrible.
We thought we'd go up the hill, see if the signal was any better, and we found this spot
right here on this, on top of the mountain, and we have full bars, which is incredible.
So even better spot, incredible internet, so Tyler can work, I can get on social media
to post and all that fun stuff, so it's worth it.
But we just, it is a little bit, not everyone could probably park up here.
This was the setup that Tyler did.
There's some rocks under there.
I just don't like it.
But we want to get this a little bit more level.
So we have a rule.
Who made it up?
Was it me?
Uh, you.
I made the rule up, whoever cooks doesn't do dishes.
So I'm doing dishes.
So I'm doing dishes, and she's cooking breakfast.
And that's the...
It's not a perfect system, because technically you made lunch and I did not do dishes.
It's true.
Sorry.
So I'm doing lunch and dinner.
Breakfast is served.
Well plans continue to change.
The air quality out here is not the best, and we're not super level on this mountain,
but it was nice while it lasted.
Plus we're kind of, I tried to level it as best as we can, but we're still kind of uneven,
so it's just really uncomfortable.
But the view is amazing.
Yep.
View.
I miss these views.
Yep.
But I know there'll be, there'll be more.
Yep, we got plenty more.
Buddy doesn't like whenever we go downhill.
But, oh, okay, okay.
You're okay.
You're fine.
So we are in Craig, Colorado.
We stayed there last night.
We're going to drive through Maybell, get some gas, because I'm told that's the last
gas station until we hit a pier.
We are staying just in the middle of nowhere, but it's not that far of a drive.
I think it's like an hour, maybe an hour and a half.
We've prepared.
We've got all the water we need.
Going to get some gas, and yeah, we're going to be staying there maybe three days at the
most.
Dirt road, and it goes.
Once we get to our campground, it stays into dirt until you get to the Wyoming.
Pretty excited to get to Wyoming.
It's been almost a year since we bought the RV.
That's where we got it.
I'm using this little leveler, and I'm kind of stacking them.
And I'm going to drive the RV on top of it to level the RV, because it's leaning a lot.
I love this little stove.
Yeah.
The plan was for us to stay in this spot for the next probably three nights until Tuesday
morning.
Unfortunately, it doesn't have internet.
It's a bummer that where we stay is determined by if we have internet or not.
Obviously, the only person who cares about me is my mom.
We are headed into Wyoming today.
Our campsite was only like 20 minutes away, so we're going to stop up here and take a
picture of the sign.
If there is a sign.
There better be a Wyoming sign.
I'll be really sad.
Well, apparently we're officially in Wyoming, but there wasn't a sign.
No.
It was just, it went from dirt road to highway, and it went over a cow grate, and that was it.
But I really wanted a picture with every state that we've passed, and I guess that's not
going to happen.
We'll take one as we're leaving Wyoming.
Oh yeah, that's true.
Turn around and just take it as we're leaving and be like, yeah.
The only people who will know.
We made it.
Will be the people who watch this today.
Stinky boy.
So we found our new spot for the next three nights.
It was kind of a change of plans.
We ended up going south of Rock Springs.
About 20 minutes.
And I think this place is better than the place we were going to go to because it was
literally under a bridge down by this creek.
So, this is a lot better.
I'm just climbing this hill right here.
This is the only place I can get cell signal is up top.
And of course I brought some coffee.
Had to come up here and do a couple work calls.
Today's our last full day here.
We've been here for three full days.
And we have to go up top, work on a few things, and I need to plan on our next destination.
I don't really know where we're going from here, so I'll figure that out.
And yes, that's an outdoor rug strapped to my backpack.
It's easier to carry.
We're here at this reservoir and there are wild horses.
There's, I think, three of them down there.
Yeah, there's three.
So after we left the place where we saw the wild horses, we stopped at the spot here.
This is a free spot, 14 day stay max.
And since we saw the wild horses, we figured it would be appropriate to watch the movie Spirit.
Kind of a childhood movie for us.
And yes, we have a projector.
I wanted a nice TV inside of our little tiny home.
